Chapter 3

Della's POV

It's been two months since I've moved to New York with Daisy. Natalie has been coming over consistently. Between the day we got together as of not long ago, I've been telling her bits regarding our past. She's never made a decision about me and I'm thankful for all that she accomplishes for us.

She’s like a real sister to me and an Auntie to Daisy. She's family to us. Daisy and her turned out to be exceptionally close. Daisy calls her Aunt Nat and Natalie calls her Dai or more often than not darling.

I'm cleaning the kitchen trusting that Daisy will wrap up having her morning meal. Natalie said she would inquire about a new line of work for me at the club that she works at. I concluded it was the ideal opportunity for me to begin working so I don't go through the remainder of the cash we actually have.

I've become acquainted with my neighbor over the two months that we've been here. She's a lonely widow. She let me know that her significant other died serving our country. She even showed me pictures of him one time when I went to her apartment with Daisy.

I conversed with her about me finding a new line of work and she confirmed that she would watch Daisy for me while I went to work. I could do without asking individuals for help. I've generally liked to do everything all alone however I truly do require somebody to watch her. I wouldn't simply abandon her home for the six hours that I would go to work.

"Mom, I'm done. Can I sit in front of the television now?" Daisy asked me while pushing her empty plate towards me.

I grinned at her and gestured my head, "Alright, bubbles. Go for it."

She took off and hopped on the sofa before turning the TV on. After I wrapped up washing the dishes, I sat close to Daisy and hung tight for Natalie to message. She would tell me what her manager says.

Alessandro's POV

"It's a joy working with you, Mr. Gattani." The man whom I was meeting with said as he shook my hand.

I just offered him an unpretentious gesture as opposed to expressing anything as a trade off as I put on my shades, pivoting and strolling outside to my vehicle.

"Where to, Mr. Gattani?" Asked Ken, my driver.

"Inferno." I responded to him before taking out my phone to message my sibling, Luca.

"Yes sir." He answers, driving off toward my club.

Alessandro : I'm going to the club.

Luca : Need us to come?

Alessandro : No, it's nothing enormous.

Luca : Okay, we'll simply return to the house.

Alessandro : See you later.

I put my telephone in my pocket and rest back on the seat. The vehicle windows are colored, keeping everybody outside from knowing who is in the vehicle.

Traffic is horrible as usual so a chunk of time must pass before I at long last show up at the club. At the point when I enter inside, I head over to the bar where Natalie is sitting.

"Nat, what do you want to discuss with me?" I ask as I approach her.

She cuts the chase as she says, "Boss, I have this friend who urgently needs a job."

I take a gander at her briefly, sitting tight for her to go on yet she doesn't. Feigning exacerbation, I ask her, "For what reason would you say you are letting me know this?"

She murmurs emphatically and talks, "Could she please work here as one of our servers? She can begin this evening."

I run my hands over my face sleepily, "You realize I don't deal with employing the servers. I let Fedele do that since he's the head of the bartenders. I actually don't see the reason why you're asking me when you ought to ask him."

She takes a full breath in before talking once more, "She's simply experienced a great deal and she's never truly worked. I needed to let you know just incase something occurred so you wouldn't be so unforgiving with her."

I rub my chin, getting irritated with this discussion, "You requested that I come here so you could inquire as to whether a lady who has never worked before can fill in as a server in my club?"

She gestures her head energetically and grins splendidly. I look at her as though she's simply said the most dumbest thing on the planet, "What on God's green earth do I look like to you?"

She groans and throws her head back, "Boss, she's gone through so much already… "

I cut her off before she could even finish her sentence, "Same with every other person on the planet."

She stands up from the stool and stops directly before me with her jaw up and eyes eyes on me, "Boss!"

I gaze at her briefly, not looking away, "You're about to continue to pester me until I agree, right?"

She gestures her head again with a decided look all over.

Running my fingers through my hair, I yield and say, "Okay."

She quickly livens up and opens her mouth to talk.

"However, I hold a finger up, preventing her from saying everything that she planned to say and say to her in a harsh voice, "In the event that anything turns out badly in my club because of her, I will hold the both of you accountable."

She peers down at the floor while saying, "OK, Boss."

Della's POV

It's presently afternoon and I'm making lunch for myself and Daisy when a notification pops up on my phone.

Nat : Hello, darling. Just had a chat with my Boss. You start this evening at ten.

Della : Much thanks for this, Nat.

Nat : It's no issue. I'll meet you at your place this evening. We'll prepare and go together.

Della : Amazing. See you then.

I put my telephone down on the counter and serve macaroni and cheddar in a bowl for Daisy and tell her to sit at the table so she can eat, bubbles."

"Coming, mom." She puts the remote down and leaps off the lounge chair before securing her spot at the table.

"Eat the entirety of your food." I remind her while putting some squeezed apple close to her bowl.

"OK, thank you." She says and takes a taste of her beverage.

I take a seat at the table with her and quietly watch her as she eats. She pushes a spoonful of macaroni into her mouth, making her cheeks puff out. She seems to be a charming little chipmunk.

This evening will be my first time being without Daisy for over 60 minutes. I don't have the foggiest idea how I will make it happen.
