Alessia's POV

When Leo said we were going to pay Victor a visit, I'd imagined a lot of things. A penthouse confrontation, A back-alley ambush or maybe even a dramatic showdown in some seedy nightclub.

I did not imagine an orphanage.

My blood turned to ice the moment Leo pulled up in front of the modest building with its chipped paint and sagging porch. Children's laughter echoed from somewhere inside, innocent and pure, and my stomach twisted into knots so tight I thought I might be sick.
