Ever since Georgia’s mischief encounter with Primo and his gang, she never had the chance to have peace anymore–not in this territory could she ever have. Triggering events continued to happen, and the worst of it all was that kiss!
“Fucking bastard! I swear to god, that slap is not enough!” Georgia gritted as she dug her nails on her palm. She could still feel it! His lips rubbing on hers! If only god could allow her to change her lips, she wouldn’t hesitate to ask for it immediately!
She’s still steaming with fury. Despite being invited for dinner, Georgia never left her room–she doesn’t know what comes next once she steps out. For the meantime, she will have this room as her temporary shelter, there’s nowhere she could run to after all.
While Georgia is fuming, Primo is found satisfied with what he had done–the smirk on his face said so. However, that was just for a brief moment because of the problem staring at his face. Although Georgia appeared to be a worthy distractor, Primo couldn’t afford to get distracted at this moment.
“Everything has been prepared for tomorrow’s burial, Boss.” Primo’s gaze diverted to his left as he heard Manuel’s voice. He nodded at him in response. Following that is the air sticking in his lungs in void. He may have never been emotionally attached to his father, but his absence–especially in the organization, left a huge hole.
“Gather all the capos to the meeting space right after the burial.” Primo lit a piece of cigar as he returned his eyes to the landscape of the sea before him. It’s the only way he could cope. Now that he’s all alone in his office, the silence bouncing on the four walls opened his mind to think of the recent problem.
He didn’t want to admit it, but the strategy that the enemy pulled is pretty impressive. They didn’t think that far to get cornered. Not to mention that the chain of events led him to meet the doctor who turned out to be an important piece in this dispute.
As the face of the angry doctor returned to his mind, Primo immediately picked his phone up to dial someone’s number. Fortunately, he didn’t have to wait long to reach her.
“To what do I owe the pleasure of this call, Mr. Bonsignore?” a voice from a woman echoed in his ear. He didn’t see her face, but he could see her having a playful smile right now. She’s Jennifer Wills, one of the biggest stockholders in his company.
“Business.” Primo simply replied. It was only one word, yet the other line already got the gist of the reason for the call. “I need you to do something for me.”
As the sun sets for another day, everyone in the headquarters, excluding Georgia, is preparing for their departure. Everyone is dressed in black suit, with men in buzzcuts and women in ponytails. Each of them has a garland of poppy flowers on their chest, that also include Primo who’s the last one to come out of the building with the large frame of his father on his hand.
With Primo leading the way, the capos and mafiosi walked in order behind in two columns when they reached the cemetery. The casket is hanging on Primo’s shoulder level, ready to be buried.
“This will be your last chance to take a look–it’s now or never.” The worker in charge made an announcement, having everyone’s eyes on Primo–the very person who hadn't taken a look at his father for the last time.
Primo’s chest tightened. He’s only three steps away from seeing his father in flesh for the last time, but it feels like a mile already. His legs are unusually heavy. The simplest thing to do became the hardest to accomplish. He never thought that this would happen so soon.
“This is only your last chance, Boss.” Manuel, who’s behind him, spoke. His consciousness then snapped back to reality. That’s right. It’s literally now or never.
For the first time in his life, Primo took those bravest steps as he uttered along the heavy sigh, "It's my duty to avenge your death... Father."
Meanwhile, in the seemingly empty building, Georgia also had her momentum to take a brave step. She has been watching everyone leaving by the window. She knew that she’s all alone now. And the sayings are true, you are inclined to feel a sense of deep reflection the moment you're alone.
“It’s someone’s father after all…” she spoke through the air as her eyes softened. She definitely didn’t know the entire story behind this ruckus, but she knew, she heard it from Primo himself–he lost his father.
She’s not heartless. She could still offer her sympathy. However, her current situation where she’s left and locked all alone in this gigantic building, makes her want to think otherwise.
“Shh!” Georgia slapped her head and stood up. “I have my own problem to deal with.” She says as she paces her way to the unlocked door to get out, and probably get a chance to escape. However, the moment she tilted the knob emerged a person beyond, jumping her out of surprise.
A woman in a red dress greeted her flustered appearance. There is a mysterious smile etched on the face of the woman as she scanned her from head to toe. Meanwhile, Georgia is stuck in her feet, not because of being wrong about being all alone, but the fact that she knows who this woman is.
“Jennifer Wills.”
Georgia didn’t know how the hell she survived those twenty minutes taking photos with Primo. No, literally, she was actually surprised to come back inside her car so calm. But when that moment played inside of her head again, Georgia couldn’t resist the feeling she chained within herself. Eyes closed earnestly, Georgia’s body shook as her leg uncontrollably hit the car’s floor. She gripped on the wheeler as she stuck her heated face on the top. She looked like a teenager who just experienced her first date in high school–that was what she actually felt right now, except she was a grown adult. She never felt this way for ages already and Primo… dug that feeling from the depth of her heart. Then she tuck her chin on her two hands on the wheeler. She could still feel her face still burning. “That’s… oh my god… what happened to me…” She murmured through her breath and then gently slapped her forehead.“I need to get a grip,” She straightened her back and conditioned her breathing to norma
It was a strange day–by the way Georgia spent it with Primo. They took a short walk outside the restaurant to digest better. It was strange… yet Georgia felt her heart so soft from this small gesture. Walking alongside him and getting their skin brushed with the soft wind passing through them… Georgia just couldn’t help but to curve her lips into a smile. But at the same time, her mind couldn’t resist from thinking about the other end of their boundaries. She wasn’t dense enough to not notice the little things. Eating at an expensive restaurant and taking walks after… She couldn’t help but to see it differently. Didn’t it look like… a date? It seemed so to her, but Primo didn’t say anything in that regard and… she didn’t think that their relationship was enough to get to the point of having a date. But… it wouldn’t seem weird when her selfishness wanted to see it as one, right? Both of her hands were holding onto the strap of her purse. God, really, it was so fortunate that she change
W-What was the meaning of that feeling? Primo looked sincere and determined to help her. But something sounded off… with those words. Georgia looked into his eyes. She stared at him for quite a while. The soft, handsome, and sincere she saw in him suddenly turned into something else–as though she visioned his face peeling off that face and turned into… something inauspicious.Georgia didn’t want what she felt at all, because she could feel his sincerity. But… All of a sudden, she remembered this man was an important figure in a mafia family. Her eyes fell off, so did her hands. She didn’t know what Primo was planning to do… but all she could do was hope that… It was a clean way. Georgia swallowed the lump in her throat and looked at him again. She saw that innocent face again. Come to think of it, Primo hasn’t been doing something scary. Although he was carrying such a valuable position, she hasn’t seen him doing anything terrifying anymore. Well… it was not like she knew what happene
Anyone would find it silly for Primo to prepare something like going to an expensive restaurant with Georgia. But he couldn’t care less of anyone’s opinion about him and how he acts in front of her. As what he said to Jennifer, he was going to take it easy. Primo missed a step in impressing Georgia–that was appealing to her and showed how much he loved to be with her. Primo missed that step and brought her to the bed instead. This time, he was going to fill in the blanks. Primo was already certain of telling her what he said when Georgia was asleep–soon. For now, he was going to take it easy between them, until he was ready. Before arriving at the restaurant, Primo already set a reservation for him and Georgia. He arrived earlier. And sitting on the chair while waiting for the woman somehow made him feel something. Recently, he has been getting nervous–one thing he didn’t know where he got from. However, he always noticed how his body reacted, nervousness, whenever Georgia had somethi
How could she almost forget that she knew someone with great influence? Primo wasn’t just someone she knew! He wasn’t just a mafia boss! But the one and only CEO of one of the top companies in the country! That was Primo and his influence! Georgia fastened her pace as she grabbed her phone from the pocket of her robe. Walking fast, she made a few taps on her phone as she dialed Primo’s number. While waiting to reach the other line, Georgia got into the elevator to go down the ground floor. To her confusion, she wasn’t able to reach the other line. Her sinking brows, however, instantly flattened back when she realized the other side of his influence. Of course, he must be busy.On the other hand, along with Jennifer, Primo watched his phone ring. He met Jennifer’s eyes with an intriguing look on her. That somehow mistaken him about the idea of this woman wanting to help her. Does she, actually?“What are you waiting for?” Jennifer asked as she cast a glance at the phone and at Primo.
“What… did you two talk about…?” Primo asked. He was trying to hide the interest in his face but he himself failed on his own. She must have meant that time before they departed from the province where he found Georgia talking with Jennifer. As per his lens, they looked like they were talking about something serious. Does it… perhaps have something to do with him?Jennifer crossed her legs with her arms across her chest and said, “I really don’t want to meddle with your business but… god! You two annoy me!” She blurted out, sinking Primo’s brows in confusion. Jennifer could definitely see how he and Georgia wanted each other, but seeing them not making a move kind of annoyed her–like a reader who couldn’t wait for the characters in a story to just kiss and confess their love. She was intently observing the two ever since they stepped foot on Georgia’s hometown. She could understand the gap between the two at first but it looked as though they had resolved the gap when they became clos
