Dominic’s POV

“She would be very foolish if she thinks I accepted to take her for personal reasons when her father asked me to,” I added.

Selena looked at me with suspicion eyes, “are you sure that’s all you have in mind?” She asked.

“Come on, Selena… stop this teasing I’ve told you before,” I said,

Selena raised an eyebrow, her eyes fixed on mine, “I’m not teasing you Dominic, I’m trying to understand your attitude the past few days,” she said

I sighed, feeling a hint of frustration. Selena knew me too well, she knows the exact button to press to get a fucking reaction out of me.

But I wasn’t going to fall for that bullshit. I wasn’t going to let Selena make me fall for her nasty tricks.

“Let’s just drop it, okay?” I said, my voice shaky but under control. “That girl is here because her father owes me a debt that’s all there is to it and like I said I intend to use her as bait to get her father.”

Selena leaned back in her chair and gave me that suspicious look with her eyes. “Wel

Dominic’s POVI waved my hand dismissively, trying to brush off the awkwardness that had settled over the table like a thick fog after my sudden protective behavior over Elena. “Enough of all this nonsense,” I said, my voice cold and commanding, echoing off the walls of the dining room. “We have serious business to discuss, so let’s get on with it and leave irrelevant matters aside.”My men nodded, but they were still looking at me with a mix of both surprise and curiosity, But I ignored it, focusing on the task at hand.My mind racing with the confusion as I seemed so absent-minded that I didn’t know what I was doing. “James, have you made that call to the Russians yet?” I asked, my eyes narrowing slightly, my gaze piercing as I turned to face him.James shook his head, looking surprised at what I had just asked him, his eyes roaming around the room before finally settling on mine. “Not yet, boss. In our last meeting, you said you were going to reach out to them yourself and make

Dominic’s POVReluctantly, I walked towards Elena’s room. I stood outside for a few minutes, my hand raised to knock on the door. I hesitated for a moment, wondering what I was doing. Why was I drawn to her room again? But I pushed the thoughts aside, I knocked on the door, my heart pounding in my chest. There was a pause, and then the door creaked open. Elena stood there, her eyes narrowed slightly as she looked at me.“What do you want, Dominic?” she asked, her voice calm but with audacity.I smiled, my eyes locking on hers. “I just wanted to check on you,” I said, my voice low and husky. “To make sure you're comfortable.”Elena raised an eyebrow, I could see the surprised expression in her eyes. “Comfortable?” she repeated. “You call this comfortable Mr. Dominic?” She waved her hands in the air, gesturing to the whole building. I chuckled, my eyes never leaving hers. “Well, it's not the best, I'll admit,” I said. “But it's…adequate.”Elena's eyes flashed with anger, and I felt sat

Elena’s POV I watched as Dominic left my room, as I felt a mix of emotions swirling inside me. I was angry, frustrated, and scared all at once. But most of all, I was confused. Why the fuck was Dominic playing these games with me? One minute he was cold and distant, the next he was being charming and flirtatious. I didn't know what to understand about him, or what he wanted from me.As I stood there, trying to process my thoughts, I heard the sound of footsteps outside my room. I tensed, wondering if Dominic was coming back. But it wasn't him. It was a woman, the same woman who had given me food on my first day here.“Elena, you need to come with me, I want to show you something” she said, her voice calm and sweet.I hesitated, unsure of what to do. But her expression told me that I didn't have to worry. I nodded, following her out of my room and down the hallway. We walked in silence, the only sound being the echo of our footsteps off the walls. I didn't know where we were going, or

Elena’s POV As I sat there, lost in thought, Sophia seemed to sense my unease. She placed a gentle hand on my arm, her touch warm and comforting, like a calming balm to my tired nerves.“Don’t worry, Elena,” she said, her voice soft and calm, like a gentle melody that seemed to calm my racing thoughts. “Soon enough You'll figure things out. Just be patient and try to see things in a different perspective.”I nodded slowly as I felt nothing but gratitude towards Sophia. She was the first person in this mansion who had shown me kindness and understanding, and I found myself drawn to her warm and caring nature. As we sat there in silence, I couldn't help but think about Dominic. What was his story? What had driven him to become the person he was today? The ruthless mafia boss who seemed to take pleasure in my fear and rage.Sophia seemed to notice my curiosity. “Dominic's past is complicated,” she said, her voice low and careful, as if she was sharing a secret that was meant to remain h

Dominic’s POVI woke up to the sound of my alarm, the loud ringing piercing through my eardrums and waking me up from my deep slumber.Tired, I Slowly reached over to turn it off, rubbing the sleep from my eyes. It was morning, and I had a big fucking day ahead of me.I swung my legs over the side of the bed and stood up, stretching my arms over my head and aching my back in reliving stretch.I yawned, I had been tossing and turning for hours, my mind racing with thoughts of the meeting with the Russians and the various scenarios that could play out.I made my way to the bathroom, flipping on the light switch, and looked at my reflection in the mirror. I looked like hell, my eyes bloodshot and my face pale. I splashed some water on my face, trying to wake myself up and wash away the fatigue. I rubbed my eyes, as I felt the weight of my responsibilities bearing down on me.As I dried my face, I couldn't help but think about Elena. She had been on my mind all night, her beautiful face

Dominic’s POVHe nodded, a small smile playing on his lips, his eyes gleaming with interest. “I think we can come to an agreement, Dominic,” he said, his voice filled with a hint of excitement.I felt satisfied with the outcome of our conversation, The meeting was a success. We had gained the Russian’s alliance, and I had come out on top as always. As we shook hands and finalized the details, I couldn't help but feel proud and accomplished. I had done it again. I had secured the alliance we needed, and I had proven myself as a leader, a true player in the world of organized crime. As the Russians left and James and I were alone once again, I turned to him with a soft smile, as I felt nothing but triumph. “That was a success,” I said, my voice filled with excitement.James nodded, smiling back at me, his eyes gleaming with pride. “You did it, boss,” he said, his voice filled with admiration. “You secured the alliance.”I nodded, feeling a sense of satisfaction and pride. “We make a go

Elena’s PovI stood in the doorway, watching what looked like a celebration unfold before my eyes. Dominic’s men seemed so excited, they were laughing and cheering, their faces filled with excitement. Dominic himself was standing in the center of the room, a glass of champagne in his hand, with a bright smile on his face.I was so fucking suprised as I had never seen Dominic like this before. He was always so serious, so intimidating. But now, he seemed….. happy.I shook my head, trying to clear my thoughts. I didn't understand what was actually going on with them. Why were they celebrating so much? What had happened? Why were they so happy? As I stood there, trying to make sense of it all, I noticed one of dominic’s men approaching him. They spoke in low tones, their faces were so serious. I strained my ears but they was no way I could hear their conversation from such a far distance.I wondered what they must be up to, I needed to hear what they were talking about because I want t

Elena’s POV I raised an eyebrow, unsure of where he was going with this. What did he want from me?“I'm willing to offer you a place by my side for the main time though,” he said, his voice low and smooth. “You can help me make decisions.”I was taken aback by his offer, shocked by what he had just said. Me? Help him make decisions? It seemed absurd, judged by my situation. “But there's a catch,” he said, his eyes narrowing slightly. “You have to prove yourself to me. You have to show me that you're loyal, that you're trustworthy.”I hesitated, unsure of what to say. Part of me was tempted by his offer. I was keen to learn more about who Dominic truly was, to understand what made so tick. But another part of me was screaming to get out, to escape from this place and never look back.“What do you say, Elena?” Dominic asked. “Are you in?”I took a deep breath, weighing my options. I could refuse, try to find another way to escape. Or I could accept, play along and see where it took me

Dominic’s POVI knew this might happen. And it was all because of that damn bitch Tess who made that fucking video. If it had been either Selene or Sophia, a simple explanation would suffice. But unfortunately, I wasn't lucky.“You're not denying it,” Elena said, looking sadder when she gauged my reactions.“When I was, I didn't want to believe it. But now there's evidence,” Elena said, and she throws my hands at me.“You're nothing but a lecherous man! That's it. I don't know why or what joy you get in your weird fetish but it's evident you enjoy using women like objects or toys to get what you want. Then you'd dump us like we aren't of value anymore. That's sick!” Elena yelled at me and I moved back a bit.I didn't react that way because of the way she yelled in my face but because I never expected her to say those words to me in the first place. The way she now thought of me in her head was something I didn’t want to believe, even though I couldn't deny it.I sighed. My fingers sta

Chapter 73Elena POVEven in my drunken state, I couldn't believe it. It just felt as if Dominic spawned here. Because there were no other indicators he was coming. Wait! How did he even find me?I remember Selene and I talked about this being a secret outing, no one would know, we'd be quick in and out. And the rest of the promises. But now things were far from what she actually said.“You disappear for days and the next thing I know you're stalking me. That's not done,” I said, annoyed.“Silence, Elena. You've disappointed me again and this time you willingly put yourself at risk. I made the rule that no one should go out without my permission but you didn't pay any attention to it. Even if Selene took you out, you still brought up the idea. You're the rebel here. I'm trying so much to care for you, but you don't just give a damn,” Dominic said and I don't feel the urge to resist his pull. It's not because I felt powerless—it's because I felt guilty. He actually did care? I asked in

Dominic POV"How could Selene let this happen?" I questioned, feeling annoyed. Not only did she disobey my direct order, she made things worse by taking Elena to a messed-up place like the club."For fuck's sake!" I said, flinging a book I was holding.I came back wanting to know how I could resolve things with her. After that meeting at the Pabo's parlor, I realized how precious Elena was to me. That woman—and literally all other women—didn't move me the way Elena did. I couldn't replicate the feeling with anyone else.So I thought of apologizing, but Selene had ruined my plans."Her reasons.better be good.” I thought inwardly.Even though I purposely left to meet Don Pietro. Even after the meeting, I could have come back straight away. But I didn't. I didn't want to come back immediately and start getting heavy, barely explainable mood swings again. So I decided the best option was to avoid her completely. If I didn't see her, I wouldn't be moved to worry, I wouldn't be moved to go

Selene POV“Go get dressed and meet me outside before 7 p.m.,” I said, lowering my voice to a whisper.Elena nodded and jogged away. Since she wasn't watching me, I couldn't help but smile to myself. It was against Dominic’s instructions to take Elena on any outing again since the last time. It didn't go so well—what started as a fun outing turned into a shootout with Luca's men. So it made things difficult for me.Here I was, thinking of what other ways to add fuel to the fire to make the conflict between them more intense. My mind was pondering deeply about what I could do to make Elena want to disobey Dominic even more. But without giving her venomous thoughts, she brought up the idea herself.I couldn't help but laugh inside. Now, even if Dominic gets us on the ropes, just a few arguments and agreements, and I'd still walk out of this situation unfazed. But for now, I had to stop taking joy in my thoughts and focus on actually bringing my plans to work. So, I entered my room to ge

Elena's POVHe did it. He really did compare me to a slut, to a whore. I never knew or expected that our argument was going to escalate to such a level, but when it did, I felt my pain dig deeper inside me.When Selene told me those things in the car, about how he treated women, I didn't want to believe it. I was angry, and I felt irritated when I got the description, but somewhere inside, a part of me didn't want to believe what Selene said was true—and it was because of the kiss. I still had doubts. But now, his words had confirmed it.Yet, I felt down. Even though I wasn't sure exactly why, but I wasn't angry or worried any longer. I was sad. And the sensation was becoming more evident as I took a minute to recollect the whole thing. Not just when he insulted me.I looked at my hand, and it twitched on its own when I remembered what I used it to do—slap Dominic. I didn't plan it. I was just unable to restrain myself after hearing those unexpected words from him. He was pained, and

Dominic's POVI couldn't believe that's how meeting her to clear things up would go. If anything, things had gotten worse than they were.It was not my intention, but eventually, this is how things unfolded.I looked at the medication in my hands, and I didn't feel like taking them. Even if I did, I'd probably have an overdose. With the way I felt, I'd need something to take away this pain, to numb my sensations if possible.I was angry with myself again for obvious reasons. Elena made it so. But even then, I knew inside that I wasn't acting like I was supposed to. My reactions, attitude, and character — totally off.Elena wanted to leave this place. She'd say so boldly with her mouth, so I know that much. That she didn't have anything tying her down here. But I felt like that's what fueled my anger inside. Not only did she want to leave, but that also meant she didn't feel the same way I did about her, and that just seemed to raise my anger even more.Thinking back at it now, I proba

Dominic POVIt took me about half an hour to get myself back in a calm state. I felt regretful, yes, but if I didn't face it now, I would just keep carrying them about and continue to be cranky—and that was initially what made James suspicious about me loving Elena.I had to address it. It wasn't going to help if I sat on the floor waiting for something like a miracle to happen. Not that I believed in that to begin with. I stood to my feet and picked my handkerchief off the ground. I looked like a mess, but I did my best to adjust my shirt, tie and collar and took a deep breath before leaving my office.I shut the door and walked over to Elena room. The guards that moved around and the surrounding maids greeted me, but I didn't respond to them. I just kept going until I finally got to her room door.I was some feet away from the door when I heard people talking inside. I paused, wondering who it could be, but eventually, I decided to draw closer and eavesdrop to get my answer."You've

Dominic POVI did not know what had gotten into James this afternoon, but I wasn't ready to entertain such direct confrontation from him. What had entered him, I do not know—but I would not tolerate it."You are treading a very thin line, James. I suggest that you stop with your approach and do as I told you to—leave my office," I warned, but my words didn't seem to fuel any fear. He just stood there, unfazed."My behavior is disrespectful. I'm sorry boss, I truly am. But this is an issue I have come to realize that I have to address. If not, it's not going to work out for our benefit. It is only going to make our enemies succeed and our plans fall through," James said, and I kept my gaze, radiating my anger hot at him."This woman—she's becoming your weakness, and it has become visibly evident to me. That is why I’ve decided to speak up against it before it is too late," James said."Say what you have in mind, James. Say it," I dared, and he gulped and replied."Elena has taken too m
