4. Suspicion.

It was late evening and time to close the store, Ariadne was all set to leave when she was approached by two big men.

She looked at them up and down as one of them asked, "we are looking for someone around this area, here is the photo of this person have you seen them?" the man said and showed the photo of none other than Leon to her.

Ariadne's heart skipped a beat but she didn't let her nervousness show on her face. She kept a calm face and smiled, "yes I have."

The men looked at each other, "what where?"

Ariadne said, "I saw him roaming this area, and he had asked an old woman for her phone to make phone call someone,  she gave him her phone, he called someone and told to pick him up. After his call was finished, he gave the lady her  phone, and she left, a few minutes later someone came to pick him up as well and I have no idea what happened to him after that."

The men looked at each other, before they nodded, "alright I see," and with that, they left.

Ariadne gave them a smile and sighed with relief as she turned to leave however she had only taken four steps when she heard the man say, "wait!"

Ariadne paused at her place, and forced herself to be calm she then turned around, "yes?"

The man who was asking questions from her came to her and asked, "can you tell us the day when you saw him?"

Ariadne nodded, "yeah I saw him yesterday."

The man nodded before they finally left and this time she saw them leave till they were gone from her line of sight before she turned around and left.

Leon was waiting for Ariadne to come back home and when she came back home she looked really worried.

Leon got up and went to her, "are you alright? did something happen?" he asked and Ariadne nodded, "I met two men out there looking for you Leon, who were they, and who are you?"

Leon sighed and grabbed her hand and dragged her to sit on the sofa he then gave her a glass of water and sat down beside her.

Ariadne drank the water and sighed.

"Ari, I will tell you everything once things get more safer okay?"

Ariadne looked at him, "I just.. I am just a little overwhelmed I lied to my sister for the first time and then I encountered these two men as well, I am just worried that  I might be helping the wrong person."

Leon seemed a little hurt when he heard that and instantly Ariadne felt guilty for making him feel that way, "I am sorry I..."

"I understand, " Leon spoke, "I understand your worries completely and I don't blame you Ari, but I promise you that I will never ever hurt you, you have saved my life and you are the benefactor."

Leon said as he looked at her dead in the eye, he looked damn serious as he said that and Ariadne gave him a small nod before she said, "wait did you just give me a nickname?"

Leon smirked again, "why you didn't like it?"

Ariadne smiled, "no, I love it."

The feeling of coming back home to someone waiting for you, the feeling of not being alone and being able to talk with someone, laugh with some Ariadne loved it all.

And she was more than thankful to Leon for making her feel happy even if it was just for a short time.

"I will go and cook something for you." she said as she got up and went to the kitchen, "I will help you."

Leon said, but more than helping he only caused more work for Ariadne.

Leon was really horrible in the kitchen, he left the gas open, he nearly chopped off his fingers while cutting the vegetable, and threw half of the rice while washing it.

And after a while, Ariadne had to grab his hand and forced him to walk out  of the kitchen, "hey wait to give me a chance I will do better this time."

"Get lost, if I keep on giving you chances all my food will go to waste, and I am not rich like you Mr. Young master."

"I will pay you back. "

"Shut up and go to the couch," she said and in the end, Leon admitted defeat and came back to sit on the couch.

Once the dinner was ready Leon asked, "why don't you have a television?"

Ariadne looked at Leon, "um... Renee said that I shouldn't watch television as it is harmful and can hinder my recovery."

Leon found this reasoning really bizarre, "but you are okay now, yeah I am but I never really needed television."

"I see, um.. does your phone have internet?"

She looked at him, "no, Renee had said that I did not internet or else I will get addicted to the phone and it might hinder my recovery as the phone makes your brain works slowly."

Leon was baffled now and he knew that something was wrong, "but what if you need it? like emergency what if you have to go somewhere?"

Ariadne blinked, "I... I don't know anyone in this place and I have no family other than Renee and I also don't know anything about this city other than this neighborhood.

And if i have to go out of here then I have to talk to Renee she will take me."

Leon became quiet suddenly, he just gave her a nod and started to eat his dinner quietly and Ariadne said, "Renee only wants the best for me Leon, she wants me to recover as fast as I can and that's why she is keeping away everything that is harmful for my brain."

Leon just gave her a nod, "I understand Ari."

Ariadne relaxed when she heard that and the two had their dinner in silence.

~~~
At night when Ariadne was in a deep sleep, Leon slowly came out of the room and very slowly and carefully walked towards her, he came near her and picked up her phone.
Leon came back to the room and started to check her phone, Ariadne only had only had one contact and that was Renee.
No social media, and no other internet-using apps.
He then looked at her gallery and there were only and only photos of a black cat. No photos of her or Renee or her family or her friends.
He then opened the phone and examined it before his eyes widened and he smirked, "Bingo." he said as his doubts came true when he saw a tracker on her phone.
