MIA

My eyes were swollen and red as I stared at my reflection on the window, the car swiveled past a few houses I felt like a sheep on its way to a slaughterhouse.

He hasn't said anything since his terrifying speech of ownership over me, I still can't believe this is my life.

If I had told Mia from two days ago that this is where we would be she would call me crazy, there is no way I'm going to escape this bastard. I just have to play along now and find out where he is taking me before coming up with an escape plan.

"Are you hungry?" He voiced out suddenly and I shook my head.

"You are going to starve to death, or is that your plan?" He asked but I ignored him.

I could tell he wasn't happy about it but what I didn't expect was the sharp tug on my hair. I cried out as he yanked my head back with my hair invading my space.

What's with these men and pulling my hair?

"When I speak to you, you answer!" He growled and instead of being scared I was conscious of our proximity, I breathed in his cologne and winced as he tightened his grip on my hair.

"Do you understand?" He scowled.

"Go fuck yourself" I replied and before I could blink his hand left my hair and he gripped my neck choking me, I wheeze hitting and scratching his arm.

"I can end your life now and call it a day" His eyes darkened and my hits got weaker, my eyes watered and I could feel my grip loosening.

He let go of me and I gasped greedily sucking in oxygen, "I don't want you dead before we get to the fun part" He smirked and I glowered at him.

"You are a psycho!" I retorted, surprised that I could still be snarky after he almost sent me to heaven.

"I'm glad you can still talk" He replied with sarcasm dripping off his tone.

I stayed silent after that, not knowing what to say. We got to a golden gate and my jaw dropped at the golden eagle on top of the gate. Some men with rifles were outside and the gate opened on its own.

Our car drove slowly while he rolled down the glass to speak to one of the men outside, they were speaking Spanish so I had no idea what they were saying.

The car drove into what seemed like a manor and I looked back watching the gate close, sealing my fate.

If those men are always outside how the hell am I supposed to escape?

We alighted from the Rolls Royce and I observed my surroundings, the huge mansion in front of me and the fountain in the middle.

He must be wealthy, who am I kidding? He bought me for one hundred and fifty million.

"Welcome home Mia," He said and I scowled.

"This isn't my home" I countered.

"But it is now" He replied bluntly and my heart broke as it dawned on me that I might not be able to escape.

I followed him inside and everyone we came across bowed as he walked passed, I wasn't used to people bowing at me and I felt awkward about it.

His living room was just as luxurious as the outside, the royal chairs and golden chandeliers made a statement, and the black and white tiles and posh black rugs added a light touch of simplicity to the luxury.

He gestured for me to take a seat and I watched him take off his coat. I would be lying if I said I wasn't impressed by his huge biceps and broad chest.

How can someone be so perfect and yet so dangerous?

My eyes drifted from his chest down to his slacks for some reason I wasn't scared of what he would ask of me. It's as if I anticipated whatever he was going to be using me for.

I don't even know what is wrong with me.

"Are you done stripping me with your eyes?" His voice jolted me out of my thoughts and I lifted my gaze to find him staring at me.

"Why did you buy me?" I asked.

"Finally, I was thinking you were never going to ask, I do have a few questions for you too" He replied, taking a seat opposite me.

"What questions?" I asked curiously.

"Why the hell were you in an auction house Mia?" He questioned.

I was still wondering how he knew my name when he added.

"Aren't you supposed to be in the university by now?" He asked and my eyes widened.

"Who are you? How the hell did you know that?" I sprung up from the chair and he smirked.

"It doesn't matter, I want to know how you got to the auction house, give me the names of who brought you there" He demanded and I sat down contemplating if I should tell the stranger I just met about my family's betrayal.

"It doesn't matter, it's not going to change anything unless you are a cop" I furrowed my brows as he chuckled.

"You already know that's not what this is, whether you like it or not you belong here now," He remarked.

"I don't belong here, I don't belong to anyone" I gritted out angrily and he waved his hand dismissing my comment.

"Do I have to force you to speak? What happened to you? I figured out you aren't missing because the auction house you stayed at doesn't kidnap girls like others, they are bought. Did something happen to you?" He asked holding eye contact with me and I felt my blood boiling irritated by his interrogation.

He doesn't care about me and why is he acting like he knows me?

"My stepfather sold me" I replied looking away.

He was silent for a while and he sighed, "And your mother?" He asked in a clipped tone.

"She suggested it, I was recently admitted to the state's university but it doesn't matter now, I didn't get to leave the house before they found a way to kick me out" I bit my lips avoiding eye contact with him.

I feel stupid for oversharing, it's not as if he would let me go or anything.

"Do you want me to make them pay for what they did?" He asked and my head snapped in his direction instantly.

"What?" I blinked rapidly, completely caught off guard by his question and he stared back at me waiting for my reply, and I thought about it.

I want them to pay but I want them to suffer, I want Edward to suffer and die in a gruesome excruciating manner, and my mom...

I don't even know what to think when it comes to her.

"What are you still thinking about? Did you agree to be sold?" He questioned sarcastically.

"No, I just... I.." As much as I want them to pay I don't think I can live with the guilt of being the reason for their death.

"I will give you time to think about it, I'm not a patient man and if you don't tell me what you want I will take care of it myself" He warned and I nodded.

"Can I ask why you bought me? How did you know my name?" I blurted out before I could stop myself and he raised an eyebrow at me.

"Why would anyone buy you?" He asked instead of replying.

"Because I'm a virgin" I scowled at the smug look on his face.

"Is that true?" He asked and a maid walked in with a tray placing a glass of wine in front of me and a glass of what looked like whiskey was handed over to him.

He took a sip from the cup watching me from the rim of the cup.

"Yes," I answered and he nodded.

"I think it's time we get to know each other, I'm Keith Von Quavo" He introduced, staring at me intensely like he was expecting a reaction, now that I think of it the name sounds familiar but I couldn't place where I heard it.

He doesn't have a Spanish accent which means he must have grown up in the States.

"Mia Atwoods," I said even if he already knew my name somehow.

"Why did your stepfather sell you?" He asked.

"He mentioned something about a debt, I had no idea what it is" I replied and he chuckled, shaking his head like he was amused by what I said.

"What am I supposed to do here? Be your servant? I don't have any experience in sex and I'm sure you have other options" I interjected and he dropped the glass cup he was holding on the mini glass table beside him.

"Crawl to me" He ordered and I blinked wondering if I heard that wrong.

"Sorry... What?"

"Take off your dress and crawl to me, you have five minutes" He enunciated calmly and I gulped.

"Or else what?" I challenged.

"Do you want to be sent back to the auction house? One hundred and fifty million means nothing to me and Madeline will gladly accept you,  her boy toy was killed because of you and she will make sure to torture you for that. Tell me, do you think you can handle six men fucking you all at once? I think the word for it is gang rape or something like that" He tsks and relaxed on the couch, I shut my eyes cursing the bastard inside my head.

I stood up and took off the little black dress I was wearing, my hands trembling as I pulled the cloth over my head, his eyes were on me the entire time and I felt conscious of the fact that I was half-naked in front of him.

The red bra was see-through, same with the panties Madeline forced me to wear, he gripped the armrest of the chair like he was holding back from grabbing me.

My nipples hardened at the thought of that and I was getting soaked with just his eyes on me. As much as I hate to admit I'm not scared of what might happen if I keep going on, I wanted it.

"Turn around" He ordered in a hoarse tone and I complied, he took a deep breath as I turned my back.

He was still silent when I faced him and I went on my knees and started crawling towards him keeping my eyes on his gray orbs.

He placed his hand on my head when I got to him keeping me in place and I furrowed my brows in confusion, there was this glint in his eyes I couldn't pinpoint.

"Unbuckle my belt" He ordered softly while watching me like he was fascinated by seeing me on my knees.

I bit my lip before reaching for his belt, just then the front door burst open.

"What the fuck is going on here?" A female voice bellowed.

KEITHMia’s question took me off guard.“Why would you ask me that?” I asked her worriedly.“All the rules to keep me caged in here,” she responded, tears gathering in her eyes. “I am not keeping you caged, Mia,” I told her, broken to see her tears.“Then what is this about?” She asked painfully. The sound of her voice made my chest hurt badly. I had come to care so much about her that her pain had become mine. I wouldn’t have said anything to her. Before now, I would have let her believe whatever it was that she wanted to believe. As long as I was keeping her safe, I didn’t give a damn how she felt about it, but it wasn’t like that anymore. The last thing I wanted was to see her crying.“I am just trying to protect you,” I told her.“From what? Protect me from who?” She asked deeply. Then before I could give her a response, she added, saying, “You already bought me, so what else?”Her words pierced my heart. Mia had gotten this all wrong. She had no idea what lay ahead of her out th

MIAEver since I realized that I was strong enough to stand and walk, I had been waking up with so much joy and energy.“I can’t wait to use the library today!” I said with bubbling excitement. Now, I wouldn’t be so bored because there would be something to do. I was so excited that I could barely remember Athena’s outburst. However, I noticed now that she didn’t share in my excitement.“What’s wrong, Athena?” I asked her worriedly.Athena looked at me, and I could see sadness in her eyes. “I shouldn’t have acted the way I did yesterday, and I am sorry,” she apologized deeply, melting my heart.“I am not angry, Athena,” I told her.“Are you sure?” She asked wistfully.“We are friends, Athena, why would I be angry?” I asked her.Her eyes caught the time and she gasped.“What is it?” I asked again.“You are to have breakfast with Mr. Keith in his dining room,” she told me.I looked at her with shock.“That sounds like an instruction,” I said.“When Mr. Keith called me to his study yes

KEITH “I don’t want Terrace to be the one to call first,” I told Cain. “He might just be suspecting something if he happens to call first and I deliver the news,” I added.A part of me still felt skeptical about the whole thing. Cain had initially come up with a story.“All you have to do is tell Terrace that we delayed in getting back, so as you promised, you had to send one of your bodyguards to find them. Unfortunately, he found out that we had both been killed. As a matter of fact, he was only able to escape by sheer luck, and as a result of that, he couldn’t get their bodies,” Cain had stated.“You want me to lie to Terrace that you are dead?” I had asked Cain, surprised at his story.I had to ask him deeply and carefully because I felt that he hadn’t thought about the story thoroughly.“Yes, boss,” Cain had answered, confirming that he knew exactly what he was saying. “Why would I do that? Do you have any idea what that implies?” I had questioned Cain deeply.“Yes, I do, boss,

JACKIE “Why would I want to do that?” She asked me, her voice too loud for comfort.“Can you not raise your voice?” I pleaded with her but she sized me up with her eyes.If it wasn’t for what I needed, she would have had her hair pulled right away, and she definitely would be at her doctor’s for a couple of days. Men didn’t even dare speak to me like this, or stare at me with disdain, much less women. Even Madeline Dmitrii couldn’t stand my power. “Ma’am, you are wasting my time and I don’t even have it to give in the first place,” she retorted. Then she made to walk past me into the tavern, but I was faster. I grabbed her with one hand, and before she could scream, I covered her mouth with my other hand. Then I dragged her effortlessly to my car, shoved her in and pinned the door. Before she could unpin the car lock to get out, I was already inside the car, and I pulled out my gun.“I wouldn’t do that if I were you,” I told her just when her finger was about to reach for the car l

JACKIEI sat on my desk, trying to get some work done, but it just wasn’t working.“How do I get something to give Keith?” I kept asking myself. This was the question that had been running through my mind for days now. The good thing was that Tessa was out of the way, so I didn’t have to worry about that, and just yesterday, I spoke to Bertha, and she already agreed to do it…heartily. However, I still wasn’t satisfied. How could I possibly be? I felt like I was in the dark not knowing what was going on in Keith’s mansion.Had Mia recovered?Had her condition gotten worse or better? How about Keith’s murder issue? What exactly what going on?“Arghhh!” I yelled in agony, almost pushing off everything on my table to the ground. This was all too frustrating. Calling Keith was not even an option because he hardly ever took my call. Since the last time I called and I didn’t have any tangible news to give him, he had barely taken my call or called me back.“He is giving all his damn attent

KEITH “Are you going to get some rest?” I asked Cain.He had been thinking nonstop since our last conversation, and I feared that he was going to have a migraine from it.“The clock is ticking, boss,” Cain responded.“We have until evening to tell Terrace about Julian’s death, and that is enough time if you ask me,” I said. However, deep down, I was equally worried.I had also been thinking, but for the life of me, I couldn’t come up with something convincing enough. Terrace sent his best bodyguard to me. Julian was probably as important to him as Cain was to me, and I could already imagine how he would take it.It could be as worse as finding out about my involvement with what happened to Don Milano.“What I want is for you to get some rest. The more rested you are, the faster you will heal,” I added.“I am fine,” Cain insisted.“But I need you to be at your best,” I told him. “I only killed Julian, not get into war with ten mafias,” Cain responded. He was playing around with me, a
