MasukAs they watched their aunt leave, Nana turned towards Aurora. Her gentle demeanor, which she always portrayed in front of her mother, vanished in a second, bringing now her haughty behavior. She looked at Aurora from head to toe, still feeling angry at the fact that the girl was more beautiful than her. She couldn't even take her eyes away from her. She shook her head and glared at the girl, who was of the same height as her. "Go and get me a glass of champagne," she said. Coincidentally, a server was passing by, so Aurora walked towards him, took a glass from him, and gave it directly to Nana.
Nana took the glass with her left hand and folded her right hand over her chest, letting the hand holding the glass rest on it. She looked around the room until her eyes lit up. “Bryan!” she lifted her right hand to wave at the person. Hearing the name, Aurora involuntarily stiffened, her hands clenched at her sides before involuntarily releasing them. Since Nana didn’t get the reaction of anger or deception she wanted to see, but she still smiled at the approaching man. As he got nearer, his features became harder to pass by: dark brown hair neatly combed, well-defined cheekbones, a pointed nose, and thin lips that arched up as he called, “Nana.” He walked up to her and gave her a warm hug before releasing her. “How are you doing?” Nana, who was blushing from the sudden contact, acted shyly. “Bryan, please behave. There are people around, even Aurora,” she said shyly and affectionately. Only now did the man notice the girl in red standing not far away. That was only when he separated himself from the girl as if she were scalding. He looked at the girl in red without blinking, as if the girl was a rare beauty that would disappear if he closed his eyes. This prompted a look of disapproval from Nana, who pinched him. As if brought back to reality, he went to hug her too, but she took a step back and bowed slightly. “Greetings, young master Shanks,” this made the smile on the man’s face lessen as he looked at the girl with a complicated expression. Aurora looked at the man as if he were a stranger, then she looked at Nana. “I’m going to the bathroom.” With that said, she left. Bryan, being held by Nana, rapidly untangled himself from her to rush for the disappearing girl until he reached the hallway. He held the girl by her wrist and looked at the back of the girl with a pleading look. “Please, Aurora, please look at me,” he said. His voice was pleading. Aurora decided to turn towards him and waited for him to talk. The man moved closer to her, but she took a step back to create more space. “Aurora, please forgive me. I never meant to betray you, but you know at that time the family business was in ruins, and we needed your uncles’ help to pull us out. The only way was to be her boyfriend. Please forgive me,” he said, his voice choked up. Aurora looked at him as if he were a stranger, saying, 'You made me think that you were my partner, my friend. You didn’t hesitate to fool around with my cousin but came and blamed it on the family business. What a pure moron you make.' “Young master, no need to worry. I doesn’t hold grudges". She said her voice was low but clear enough for him to hear. He smiled instantly and tried to hug her, but she took a step back. He looked at her with a questioning look. “What are you doing?” She looked at him directly in the eyes. As she was shorter, she had to crane her neck to look at him since he was 1.85m and she was 1.79m. “Young master seems to misunderstand something. I forgave you, but I didn’t say things can return to what it was before,” the man looked at her and said, “But I thought you said you love me. Was it a lie?” His tone was indignant, as if she was the betrayer and he the victim. The man's reaction initially sparked a desire to laugh in her, but soon her eyes turned cold, causing the man to shudder under the weight of her gaze. "Yes, I said it, but the difference is that I didn't lie," she asserted. The man stared at her for a moment before attempting to caress her cheek as if trying to soothe her anger, only to have his hand slapped away. With a pleading look, he implored, "Please trust me again, believe in me just this once." Annoyed, she met his gaze and stated firmly, "Bryan, I trust once, I don't tolerate betrayal". Upon arriving home, the aunt excused herself due to stomach discomfort and left Nana and Aurora alone. When Nana confirmed that her mother was no longer present, she took action. Some minutes later, Michael was done leaving the place for Aurora to take her own bath. She immediately bathed and, covering herself with a towel, walked into the room just across and took out a black dress and wore it. Then she carefully took care of her hair. When she was done, she got out of the dressing room. He stared at her for what felt like minutes, then stretched out his hand and said, “Come, let's go and take breakfast.” She got up from her seat, showing no intention of taking it. True, he was her husband, but for the moment they were just strangers bound by a marriage contract.Michael placed his hand back in his pocket. He didn’t feel at all offended. He opened the door and walked out. Aurora followed suit, her eyes not looking left or right but fixated on Michael’s back. They walked until they reached the stairs and descended them. He guided her into the dining room, where he helped her to sit on his right, and he took the head. When he was comfortable, he clapped his han
He felt her shiver and removed his coat, draping it on her, and then he picked her up and placed her on his laps, her head resting on his chest. He looked at her for a while before looking at the window. The car drove for hours more before reaching the manor. They entered a huge gate, then drove for a few minutes more before stopping in front of the entrance to the house. Many men were all lined up, waiting for the master of the house to grace them with his presence.Michael got out of the car, Aurora in his hands. All the men bowed down while greeting, “Welcome back, Master.”Michael ignored them and strode in with his wife, leaving all the men perplexed, question marks expressed on their faces. ‘Who is that woman?’Michael strode into the house. It was luxurious; the decoration was simple. All the living room furniture was either purple or white, while the walls were all white. He immediately climbed the steps; his bedroom was at the end of the corridor. He entered the room and plac
The ones with the lowest income earners are not counted, but socialites are ranked from A to C, and the Greyharts family falls among the class B socialites, while the Noels family are ranked among class C.Vicky knows him so well because her father forced her to memorize the face of people she cannot afford to offend, and so, if she is coming from class B socialites, then the Romano family are out of her league — the type you can only meet once in a lifetime — but her friend got married to the sole young master of the Romanos. One thing she is sure of is that Aurora’s peaceful life will be gone. They stayed in silence until Aurora’s stomach grumbled. That is when she remembered that she didn’t have breakfast. Vicky smiled while shaking her head; she immediately signaled for Aurora to go and wash herself while Vicky busied herself in the kitchen. Twenty minutes later, Aurora was at the table gobbling the food as if it was her last.Vicky, looking at her side: “Why are you eating so fas
He immediately arrived in front of them, and his eyes instantly fell on Aurora. He was stunned— even the plain dress could not hide her allure, especially her striking blue eyes. But under Michael’s murderous gaze, he quickly lowered his head in a hurry.“Greetings, young master. The documents are ready.”Without once raising his head, he opened the file, pointed out the places where signatures were required, and handed it over.Michael took the documents, signed them swiftly, and then passed them to Aurora. She hesitated for a moment, staring at the papers, before finally taking the pen and writing her name. A simple action—yet one that sealed her fate for the rest of her life.Michael turned to her, his voice firm and unyielding.“You’re mine now.”At that instant, Aurora felt as though she had been tricked, though she could not explain why. She pushed the feeling aside.“Now… can I leave?” she asked.Michael studied her for a moment before replying, “Then where must I drop you?”“H
A few hours ago.Aurora was lying on the bed while Michael hovered over her, a malicious grin dancing on his lips as he glanced at the girl beneath him. Her eyes were half-open, gazing back at him with a hazy look. He was mesmerized by them, finding her even more beautiful with the rosy hue tinting her pale white skin. With a predatory grin, he murmured, “From today onwards, you’re only mine.”He leaned down and brushed his lips over hers, but there was no reaction from the dazed Aurora—until she suddenly pushed him aside and scrambled out of bed. A hand covering her mouth, panic written all over her face, she rushed into the bathroom. She vomited into the sink and flushed it with water, clutching her head as if she were about to collapse—when a hand caught her wrist and lifted her up.She instinctively rested her head on his shoulder and dozed off. Michael carefully carried her back to the bed, laying her down slowly, afraid she might wake. Seeing that some vomit had splashed onto he
Aurora felt the hot breath in her ear as he spoke. She took a step forward and turned to face him, staring into his blue eyes. They were truly beautiful. She felt as if she were staring directly at the sky, but she immediately looked away, overwhelmed by the intensity of his gaze. She looked everywhere but at his face, and a faint blush crept onto her cheeks. In a hushed tone, she asked, “Who are you, and what happened?” Her little voice was hoarse, but neither of them seemed to mind.Michael grinned and replied, “Everything here proves what happened.” He waved his hand as if to show her what he meant, his amusement made obvious by his occasional chuckles.Aurora’s face grew redder, and she immediately retorted, “Lies! What did you do to me?”Michael looked at her and said, “That’s not the question you should be asking, but rather who started it.”Aurora looked at him incredulously. “You’re lying. There is no proof,” she said. His grin widened as he answered, “There is.” He pointed at
