When Irina came inside the bedroom of her mother, she found her standing by the tall window, looking distant at the desert of snow. She didn’t have her eyes wandering around the grand spacious room, observing the room, instead she went straight to her mother side.

“I heard it’s been over two years of winter snow covering the land.” Irina started. She didn’t know why she stated that.

Her mother turned to her. Her facial expression had calmer than the one when Lucas was around them. “Eighteen years had gone when I awake. Two years in search of you had turned my heart cold, but now I feel warmer.” She caressed Irina’s side profile. “Because of you. You’ll see the snow melting somewhere.”

Irina was as tall as her mother. Touching the hand that caressed her face, she looked deep into her mother’s eyes. She saw no emotion in there. Her face was unreadable.
