Chapter 2_ Jealousy

There was an empty hall like a restaurant situated opposite Tiger Woods Street. The empty hall was previously a bar house before the previous owner now had to shift to another location. The place has now been vacant for about two months now and has remained for sale since then. Kay Gracefield was lucky to have noticed and sighted the place. She now decided to purchase it. She wanted to open a restaurant there where she would cook and make some money on her own. She was there quite early in the morning so that she could supervise what the painters she hired were doing to affect the place. She had also scheduled to meet up with the furniture guy today with her sister Brie. Brie, on her own part, arrived just in time to meet her after settling with her mom about forcing Macrina to get married for her own benefit and up selfishness, as well, so that she can brag everywhere she goes.

She rushed into the place after she parked her red sports car in the parking lot to narrate everything in detail to Kay, who was very busy and had no time at home to take part in discussions like that. “So what did the ‘I and crusher’ say to her?” Kay asked after she heard and laughed to what Cecil their mother said. “Come on, you should not ask that as you should have guessed what she ought to have said which is ‘No man is worth me’, Brie quoted Macrina. “I think she is still grieving over what her campus boyfriend did to her seven years ago. You know that girl can really harbor something for so long”, Kay said. “And that is even the more reason I do not want to even get to her bad side because she can hate you like forever”, Kay hardly admitted. “I guess mom should leave her to her to her own device”, Brie said.

“Speaking about some more interesting things, I think you painters are really professionals. I fancy their painting design”, Brie said as she shifted to another topic while looking around the place. “You know I go for the best Brie. You have not even seen anything yet. You just have to wait and see the lights!” Kay said to Brie in a very excited way. Kay Gracefield is the second daughter of the Gracefield family. She is twenty-four years old. She is tall and chubby. She has an oval face with chubby cheeks, a straight nose, blue eyes and a smiling face. She is the cutest among the three sisters. Aside from that, the three of them are very beautiful indeed. Kay does not take part in the family’s million dollar business as she is a chef who works for nobody. But before her recent move, she was working as the assistant head chef in a five-star hotel which is owned by one of her father’s best friends. Due to her desire to move to the next level, she decided to own and open her own eatery with the full support of her family.

Cecil, as usual, had gone to the spa to get some massages and have a kind of juice with some of her gossip partners. Her friends discussed the upcoming engagement party for Carolina’s daughter. They first had to talk about the dress they were going to wear to the party, at which Carolina was the loudest. Cecil was not happy about all that but had to calm down and just stare at Carolina with envy. She was the one who used to get all the attention when all these gatherings happened. But since the whole engagement stuff came up, it was not so again. Carolina had seen the envy inside her eyes and decided to add more spice to it so that everything could continue boiling up. “Wait everyone, so what dress do you plan on putting on on that day, dear Cecil?” Carolina asked to cheer her off.

“Well, it is quite a shame because I do not think I will be in town by then, so I need to take part in the whole preparations”, Cecil said while she tried her possible best to bring up any possible excuse she could use. “I will not try to beat around, bush anymore and you should not do so as well, just admit that you are jealous”, Carolina said. “Jealous? That is hell no! Besides, my lovely girls are prettier and more successful than their own kids. And I believe that soon, you will be hearing the wedding bells of my daughter Cecil. So sit back and watch, okay”, Cecil boasted, although all that she had just said was hers, and not that of her children. “If you know us very well, then you should be aware that my eldest daughter is the president of our company and she is very picky when it comes to choosing suitors”,,, Cecil said with a very proud attitude as the whole,,, attention, turned to her which made her rival, Carolina jealous.

“Then let us not forget that my darling daughter rejected your son for being nothing but an ordinary accountant, Kristine and even the whole Terry West of all people”, Carolina said, laughing in a moradic way. “But my son has been promoted”, Kristina said. “Still”, Cecil responded. “And talking about even more achievements, my second daughter, Kay is soon going to open her own restaurant and we shall throw a party. Even my other sweet heart is going to host her art exhibition. Oh my Gosh! What a talented kid I have in stock”, Cecil could not stop bragging at that point. A beautiful skyscraper, about a fifteen-storey building, is situated on the left-hand side of Lasbon highway. There is a big hall and a receptionist side just at the entrance of the company. There is a lifter in the center of the company and elevators at the right end of the company’s building.
