Chapter 3_ Getting The Means

, All the Gracefield Cosmetic Company is the company owned by the late Furgos Gracefield and then handed over to Gilbert Gracefield, who was the father of the three girls and Andrew and the husband of Cecil. The company deals in different brands of cosmetics used almost everywhere in the country. The company is worth about ten billion dollars, of which it has branches all over the country. Macrina, the first daughter, was promoted to the president of the company after the terrible accident their father had last year which left him crippled. She is the only one running the family’s business with the help of her mother, who is the CEO of the company.

It was such a sunny Sunday morning. The weather was great and the sky was blue. Many people were seen going into the church. Some came with expensive cars while others came with feet. Everyone had already arrived at church early. The Gracefield family was among them as well and they were sitting on the right-hand side in the twelfth row. Cecil was in her best attire as usual and posed like a queen with her family.

And after the service, everyone went outside, exchanging greetings and pleasantries with both friends and acquaintances. Cecil ended up greeting everyone there because she was a popular person and she loved to be noticed. As she was doing that, someone walked up to her and greeted her. She did not know who the stranger was but it seemed like the stranger knew her to the extent of calling her previous name, which she changed because it is old-fashioned. “Do I know you?” Cecil asked the stranger curiously. “I am Denny Archibald, but you call me queen now. We were friends in the same cheerleading club in our high school days”, the lady described. “Denny, is this really you?! I mean…Oh my God! You look quite fat and much older than I”, Cecil said cheerfully. “Of course or did you forget I am a year older than you? By the way, how have you been?” Denny asked. “Well, after graduation, I left town and moved here where I stayed with my uncle and finished my studies. I then got married and had four kids”, Cecil said. “You remember Christian Queen, the man I usually sneak out home to meet. I got married to him and we had two sons before he sadly passed on four years ago in a plane crash”, Denny said as she got emotional. “I am sorry about your loss”, Cecil said sympathetically.

“Are you living in the neighborhood because I want to invite you to a family dinner at my house today”, Cecil offered. “I am sorry but I just came because my eldest son built a mansion here and is throwing an opening party for it. And I am inviting you and your family to be there, okay”, Denny said. “Sure we will. But you ought to come with your own family tomorrow to my house tomorrow”, Cecil said. They now stood there and discussed for ages about the times they both missed each other. The three sisters stood together in the parking lot as they waited for a family friend. Macrina was crying at a one-year in her arms which belonged to the friend they were waiting for. “He is such a cute boy”, Macrina said to Greg, who is a family friend. “Thanks, but I think he got his good looks from me his father”, Greg said, smiling. “Hell no!” she said smiling as well. They both stood together as if they were married couples. Greg now later said his goodbyes and left with his child as well.
