CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY FIVE

GRAHAM

I froze.

Everything went quiet inside me the moment I saw her.

No, she wasn’t just Zoey anymore.

She stood like something pulled straight out of a prophecy, her eyes were glowing, her hair whipped around her like air. Her aura was pulsing with power, violent and beautiful. The kind of power you felt in your chest, something too powerful to name.

I’d never seen anything like her.

She wasn’t shifting into her wolf form. She was both. Her body glowed with different markings, her nails were claws and her feet hovered just slightly off the ground. Frankie’s energy radiated off her in waves, not as a voice anymore, but as something physical, living, awake.

My mate.

I didn’t know whether to kneel or run to her.

Viktor was staring too and for the first time since this started, the smirk had fallen off his face. He stood on the other side of the dome, completely still, like he was seeing a ghost.

“She’s not supposed to be able to do that,” he muttered.

  • The Mate She Can’t See   The storm

CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY FIVEZOEYIt was like being struck by lightning, but on the inside. The moment Frankie surged through me, I couldn’t breathe. My chest felt like it was being torn open and stitched back together at the same time. My knees buckled, and I crashed to the ground, gripping the marble floor of the balcony, gasping as raw heat spread through every inch of me.She wasn’t whispering anymore as usual, she was screaming, but it wasn’t fear or confusion, it was war. It was rage and purpose and beneath it, something deeper like she had finally woken up to take her rightful place.“I’m here,” she growled, but it wasn’t just her voice anymore. It was mine too. It was seamlessly merged and blended together to become one powerful voice. We weren’t two halves anymore. We were whole.I staggered to my feet, my fingers trembling as I clutched the railing again. My eyes were wide, and locked on the dome below, but everything looked different now. I could see everything more c

CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY FOURZOEYI sat still, but my whole body was on fire. From this high balcony, I could see everything. I could see the blur of movement, the clash of bodies, and the dust risijg up from the dry ground as wolves fought vampires in brutal, raw violence. I still couldn’t take my eyes off Graham. I watched him in both fascination and worry. I didn’t know he could fight like this. I’d never seen him in full blown battle mode but I was worried suck. Viktor was cocky and that meant he had everything calculated and planned out.“Look at him go,” Viktor murmured beside me, as calm as ever. “So predictable and so damn loud, I’ll have to get some ear plugs to make this enjoyable. That’s always been his style, hasn’t it?”I didn’t reply because I couldn’t. My hands were clenched into fists on my lap, my nails digging into my palms. I leaned forward slightly, eyes locked on the fight below. Graham was moving fast, his strikes were clean and precise. Each time a vampir

CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY THREEZOEYI sat still, but every part of me was tense. The balcony overlooked the field. Below us, the battle had started. I couldn’t look away. Wolves clashed with vampires, growls filled the air, and the sound of the fierce battle filled the air, making me sick to my stomach. My heart was pounding as I watched. It was brutal but I couldn’t take my eyes off the scene.Graham moved through the chaos like a wind. He didn’t hesitate and he didn’t slow down. He went straight for the heart of the fight, his wolf huge and furious, throwing vampires aside like they were nothing.I wanted to scream his name. I wanted to leap down and run to him but I couldn’t because Viktor was beside me, sitting calmly and smiling like this was a show for his entertainment. He leaned forward slightly, resting his elbow on the stone ledge. “He fights well. I’ll give him that,” he said. “But he’s all rage and no control. He’s going to burn out before the real game begins.”I did

CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY TWOLILYSomething was off.I felt it the second I stepped into the hallway and saw the flicker of movement near the back door. The house was too quiet. There were no guards and no usual chatter from pack members walking around. It was just the feeling of a tense atmosphere that had filled the whole place and made itself comfortable since Zoey was taken.I glanced at Hannah and she was already staring in the same direction.“You saw that too?” I whispered. She nodded once. As usual, we were always on the same page.We moved without speaking, our footsteps soft and quiet. As we reached the back door, we heard it. A soft familiar voice. It was Nicole.“You should have told me sooner,” she was saying. “Graham wouldn’t even speak to me anymore, and now that she’s gone—”Another voice cut her off. I easily recognized the voice. It was Charlie’s.“I didn’t ask for your pity, Nicole. I told you because I needed someone to talk to.”Hannah’s hand gripped my arm.

  • The Mate She Can’t See   She’s here

CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY ONERONALDSomething was wrong.I felt it before we stepped into the courtyard. The air was too still, like we had been in a closed space for far too long. The lights on the high walls flickered without any reason, and Graham, he was walking like he couldn’t feel anything except the pull of something invisible or need I say, someone.I glanced up and saw her before he did and I saw Zoey perched high on a stone balcony, with her hands gripping the rail like she might jump.My breath caught in my throat in both panic and fear.“Graham,” I said low, trying to keep him grounded. “She’s there.”He looked up. His eyes landed on her and everything else disappeared for him. That was when I knew, this wasn’t a rescue. This was bait. A well prepared bait that Viktor had set for Graham and was certain that he’d take it.She leaned over, reaching for him like he could reach back, and for one second, I let myself hope. Then suddenly her body jerked backward, like she’
