Emma got to the event just in time for the program to start.

Emma got down from the Uber, she watched as Henry rush towards her.

“Everyone is waiting,” he said.

“Did you find the notepad?” He asked. Emma nodded.

Emma didn’t want to say anything yet, she didn’t want to spoil her mood and didn’t want to start her program on a bad note. So, she decided to not talk about it yet.

Emma walked to the stage. She looked at everyone who came and she was a little bit overwhelmed. She wouldn’t have expected this much crowd.

“First, I will like to thank everyone for being here. If anyone had told me even a year ago that I would be here today, releasing my own book. I wouldn’t have believed it. It’s been a dream of mine for a long time and I am excited that this dream is coming to past now,” Emma said, with a smile.

She spoke about the content of the book for a while. She loved to talk about her book. She spent a couple of minutes talking about other things and for the closing remarks.

“I will like to thank everyone who supported me this far in realizing my dream and for never stopping to believe in me. You all are the real MVP’s” Emma said.

She realized someone in the audience had their hands raised. They probably had a question.

A microphone was handed over to the person.

“What inspired this novel? And also what makes the novel stand out considering there are already so many other love stories written out there.”

Emma smiled. “Thank you for that question,”

“First, this story was inspired by someone who was very close to me. He would always tell me how good of a writer I was and how the world needed to see it,” Emma said with a smile. “He always loves to read my drafts, always eager to know what’s next and I know he is probably not here but I wished I got to tell him how much he inspired me.”

Eric knew she was talking about him. He smiled at every word she said. He just really wanted to get up there and tell her all the thoughts he had been having and how much he missed her.

Henry had initially thought that Emma was talking about him, until the last sentence of her speech. He then realized that it was Eric.

He was a little pained but he didn’t care much because he had her now.

“About the second question, I have also read countless love stories. They are my favorite genre but I realized that most great love stories, always never have great ending. They are difficult and make you the reader sad sometimes. I wanted something different, I knew great love stories can have great endings too and that’s what I wanted the world to know.”

“Thank you.”

“Thank you all so much for being here, I hope you enjoy reading the book as much as I enjoyed writing it,” Emma said as she smiled and walked back stage and the crowd clapped cheering her.

Henry went to meet her backstage

“You did amazing,” he said, as he pulled her in a hug.

Emma released herself from the hug.

Henry could see the change of emotion on her face.

“What’s wrong?” Henry asked.

“I saw the mails,” Emma said and Henry was startled. He had not even remembered they existed again.

“I can explain.”

“No, I don’t need any explanation. You kept all of it from me and now it’s all making sense. The fact that you told me the publisher wanted me to move, me coming here, you telling me to not worry about checking the mails. You have been lieing continuously and how do you expect me to believe any word you say.”

“He hurt you Emma, I was only trying to protect you.”

“You have a absolutely no right to decide for me. You could have allowed me decide whether to respond or not.”

“I was only trying to do what’s best for you.”

“No, Henry. You were only trying to do what’s best for you. You never cared about how I felt.”

“I am sorry, I want to be with you. Only you and no one else.”

“I don’t think I can forgive all the lies, I am sorry. I trusted you.” Emma walked away and as she was going Henry told her to stop.

“I love you!!!” Henry blurted out.

Emma had nothing to say to him, her feelings hadn’t changed towards him. She continued to walk away.

She went towards were she wanted to sign the copies of books for the audience who came.

She signed a few and as she was looking down to sign a copy, she heard a very familiar voice.

“Emma,” she looked up and she saw Eric. She would never had expected to see him there.

She stood from where she was sitting and both of them moved to the side.

“I know you probably don’t want to see me,” before Eric could finish his statement, Emma pulled him in for a hug. She didn’t know how much she had missed him till she saw him.

“I missed you,” Eric whispered in her ears.

Emma let go as a tear dropped down her cheek. Eric whipped it away.

“I didn’t get married again, I sent mails, I explained everything in it,” Henry said, not know where exactly to start talking from.

“I didn’t see the mails, I just found out about them today.”

“I also just found out about the wedding today.”

“I know I made a lot of mistakes, Emma. But you were right about love, it keeps fighting and true love doesn’t have to have a bad ending. Ours can be good. I have loved you from the start and all these months have been crazy because I haven’t been able to get you out of my mind. I love you so much Emma. I can’t imagine doing life without you, I have tried and it’s terrible and not a good one. I miss your smile, the way you talk, I miss our days by the lake, I miss you ranting about your day to me, I miss everything about you and I want you in my life again.”

Emma moved closer to Henry and kissed him passionately. After letting go she whispered in his ears “I have loved you ever since too,” she smiled.
