Lorain was deep in thought as she walked away from CD Inc.

“What happened to Rica? Did she really need to send me away before she went to look for my husband? She doesn’t even know what he looks like... Oh well, never mind. I’ll just eat this myself. What a waste, I really thought I’d finally see my husband today,” she said regretfully while on her way home.

“I’ll just drop by the market to buy his favorite dish. I’ll cook dinner later.”

Lorain: “Ma’am, how much for this bunch of broccoli?”

Vendor (Manang): “It’s cheap, dear. I’ll give it to you for a good price—you're my first customer this morning.”

Lorain: “Thank you so much, Ma’am. Keep the change. Thanks again!”

“What a kind customer she is,” said the old vendor, shaking her head in admiration.

“Oh dear, Grandma is smiling again,” said Rico to the old woman selling vegetables at the market.

Rico: “Wow, Ma’am... you must be happy to get such a big order and even a tip. Who wouldn’t smile because of that woman—she’s so kind, and sometimes pretty amazing too.”

Rico (smiling): “Really, Grandma? Do you think she’s married?”

Lola: “Oh, I wouldn’t know, dear. I’ve never seen her with anyone whenever she comes to the market. But if I were you, I wouldn’t set my hopes too high—she’s beautiful and slim, probably being chased by many men!”

Rico: “Hahaha!”

“You were the one who said she always shops alone. Maybe she really isn’t married, Grandma,” he said with a smile.

Lola: “I don’t know about you, Rico! Anyway, I’ll head back inside. I still have a lot to do.”

(Rico nodded.)

“What a shame I didn’t get to see her face. I hope I get to recognize her if our paths cross again,” Rico said to himself.

Lola: “Oh! I thought you’d already left, dear?”

Rico: “Ah—yes, I was just about to go,” he replied, embarrassed.

“Young people these days... they get all dazed when they see a beautiful woman,” the elderly vendor muttered.

That afternoon, at Lorain’s home...

She was busy preparing dinner.

Shane: “Mama! Is Papa home yet?”

Lorain: “Oh, baby, Papa’s not home yet. Maybe he’ll be here later.”

The child pouted, clearly sulking over her father’s absence.

Lorain: “Don’t be sad, sweetheart. Let’s call Papa now.”

Shane: “Yay! Yes, Mama, I want to talk to Papa!”

Lorain: “Just a second, sweetie. Papa’s not answering my call.”

Shane: “Why? Papa’s not answering? Is he busy with work again?” —She asked with a mix of anger and disappointment.

Meanwhile, at the Durumio residence...

Crisanta Durumio: “Who’s calling, Winson? We’re in the middle of dinner! Turn off that phone.” —said his mother angrily, while they were at the dinner table with his father and two brothers.

Crisanta: “When are you going to move to Florida?”

Winson: “Why are you bringing that up now? I thought we already talked about that, Ma?”

Crisanta: “Yes, we did! When are you going to give us a grandchild with your wife? Your father and I aren’t getting any younger, and here you are still living like a bachelor!”

Crisanta (to Rico and Carlo): “And you two—Rico, Carlo—when do you plan to get married?”

Rico: “Uhmmm… Now we’re getting dragged into this too? Come on, Mama!”

Winson: “Alright, Ma. I’m heading out.”

Crisanta: “Why not sleep here tonight? You’ve got no one waiting for you at home, right? This is the only favor I’m asking. Please.”

Winson: “I’ll just call my maid at home. She might be waiting for me and won’t go to sleep until I get home.”

Rico (smiling): “Wow, that’s a dedicated maid! I haven’t visited your house in a long time, Kuya. Maybe I could drop by sometime?” —Rico said with curiosity, which surprised Winson.

Years had passed, and not one of his family members had visited his house.

Rico: “You look surprised, Kuya?”

Winson: “Me? Surprised? Of course I am! You guys never visit my house. Why the sudden interest?”

Winson: “I’ll just step out for a bit and have a smoke.”

Outside...

Winson (on the phone): “Hello, honey. Is Shane still awake?”

Lorain: “She fell asleep waiting for you. What time are you coming home?”

Winson: “Sorry, I can’t come home tonight, honey. I’ve got work to finish at the office. My boss needs me to wrap it up ASAP.”

Lorain: “Is that so? Okay, take care, honey.” —she replied sweetly, though her heart ached a little.

Winson: “I love you, Lorain. Bye.”

The line went dead, while Lorain still held the phone to her ear—then it suddenly rang. Startled, she dropped it, and the phone was slightly damaged.

  • The Mistress(English Version)   Chapter 100 The End

"THE ENDING OF THE MISTRESS" “Oh right, I haven’t told you the truth yet.” “The truth is, Lorain… you were my real wife all along — not Ricca. I only did what I did because of money… because my business was failing—” “Enough with the explanation,” Lorain interrupted softly, “It’s enough for me to know that I was your real wife from the very beginning — and not the mistress.” Lorain then extended her hand, letting Winson slide the ring back onto her finger — the same ring that once symbolized their marriage. “There’s no need for another wedding,” she said lovingly. “What matters is that we were already married, and now, we can finally be happy together again.” Winson smiled, tears in his eyes, and embraced Lorain tightly. Their son Shane immediately joined them, wrapping his small arms around his parents. “Oh, my child! I love you, Shane!” both Winson and Lorain said at the same time, their voices filled with joy. A moment later, Ricca lifted her hand and showed them a ring — t

Propose Rica, Lorain, Carlo, and Mrs. Divina were happily chatting inside the hospital room, while Shane was already fast asleep — exhausted but overjoyed that his mother had finally woken up. Meanwhile, Winson was at the hospital chapel, praying fervently for Lorain’s complete recovery. He was deep in prayer when he suddenly felt a hand on his shoulder. Turning around, he froze in disbelief. “Lorain! Is that really you? Or am I just seeing things?” Winson stood up quickly, not sure if he was dreaming with his eyes open or simply imagining her standing before him. “Lorain! Please don’t make it this hard for me,” he said tearfully. But then, Lorain suddenly wrapped her arms around him. Winson felt her warmth — real and alive. “You’re really awake… my wife!” he sobbed, embracing her tightly, finally realizing that she was truly there — not a dream. A few moments later, Rica and Carlo arrived, while Mrs. Divina was busy packing Lorain’s things so they could finally go home — to th

  • The Mistress(English Version)   Chapter 98

Lorain Rameriz Durumio “The Last Moment” The grandmother and Winson finally arrived at Jusong Hospital. They immediately noticed the commotion inside Lorain’s room, while Rica and Carlo were standing outside — Carlo holding Rica tightly as she cried. “Did we arrive too late for my daughter?” the grandmother exclaimed, quickly lifting Shane into her arms so they could hurry toward the room. “What’s happening to her, Carlo? Why are there so many doctors inside?” “She suddenly started shaking, so out of fear, we called the doctors to check on her,” Carlo replied anxiously. “Mom! What are they doing to Mama, Papa? Why is someone pressing on her chest? What are they doing to her, Papa?” Shane asked tearfully, his small voice trembling. “I’ll go in there, Papa! I want to see Mama!” Shane kept insisting, watching the doctors desperately trying to save Lorain’s life. Winson ran his hand over his hair in frustration — he didn’t want to show that he was losing hope. He had to stay stro

  • The Mistress(English Version)   Chapter 97

“Wealth – The Will” If only Lorain would just go, so she wouldn’t suffer anymore! And so that those who love her wouldn’t have to see her in such a condition! These were Ricca’s thoughts as she lay in her room. “Honey! Can you buy me food outside the hospital? I’m tired of the hospital meals,” she said, speaking sweetly to Leo. Because of his deep love for Ricca, Leo fulfilled all her wishes. “Of course, honey! I will. Wait for me there, and I’ll buy you delicious food,” he said lovingly, then left. Leo was so happy in that moment, barely removing the smile from his lips since Ricca had called him “honey.” “Oh no, I forgot my wallet! I’ll go back for it quickly,” he said cheerfully. Ricca immediately left to go to Lorain’s room, finding her peacefully asleep along with Carlo at that hour. “Why won’t you just die, Lorain? You’re only making those who truly love you suffer! You’re so lucky to have so many who care for you, while I… I try to force myself on someone who’s done no

“Lorain Fighting for Her Life” Hours had passed since Lorain’s operation, yet no doctor had come out of the O.R. “What’s happening inside? Why is there still no news about Lorain?” she asked, anxiety evident in her voice. Meanwhile, at the Durumio Mansion Ring, Ring, Ring went Carlo’s phone as he sat waiting for a call from Winson to get an update from the hospital. “Hello, Winson? Is that you? How’s Lorain doing?” Carlo asked, rapid-fire questions pouring out. “It’s Rica, Lorain’s friend! Has something bad happened to Lorain?” Rica’s concern for her friend was obvious. “She’s at Jusong Hospital. You need to go now! She needs you,” Carlo assured her. “I’m on my way. Winson will be there too, so you’ll have company,” Rica added. “I’m going now!” Carlo said as he got into a taxi. Meanwhile, Leo and Ricca Fontanilla were talking in her room. They were happily chatting, but Leo didn’t know that Ricca was pretending to have no memory. The pain in her heart was still there, but sh
