“Are you sure she won’t wake up?” Courtney whispered.

“She’ll sleep until we get to the safe house.” Max told her. “Now keep an eye out.” He huffed at her as he followed her carrying River in his arms.

“All I know is that she better not wake up!” She snapped.

“If you don’t shut up, she WILL wake up!” He snapped back. “Now lead us outta here.” He glared at her.
