Chapter Ten—The Unfinished Mural

** AURORA**

Two days later, close into another twilight and still no sign of Asher Blackwood. I grunted sharply, scrubbing the pots in the kitchen sink, exerting the rest of my frustration on the black gunk that refused to budge.

Damn him, I thought.

I swore that I would never see him again but he didn’t have to take my tantrum literally? His sketch was still unfinished, I haven’t even begun to catch the essence of his beautiful eyes yet. The one thing I solely needed him for.

Damn him, I thought again.

He broke a promise. I threatened him to stay away but he still broke a promise, two days gone and there was no sign of my muse…the creep.

Damn him.

“You better scrub those pots harder girl,” Madeline muttered from behind me, “Get on with it faster so you can go out, someone’s here for you.”

My eyes lit up at the mention of someone being here for me. All of a sudden, my sour evening was turning a great deal. A sm

Sixty-Seven-Found them **AURORA** I woke up at the sound of his kisses on my shoulder. I couldn’t help but smile sheepishly, then u turned around face him. It was morning already. “Not bad for a half human.” He murmured and I couldn’t help but giggle. It was a full circle moment. I had gone from hating him, to wanting him to stay away, to carrying his child, and now i was considering marrying him. It was like he could see the fear in my eyes and placed a kiss on both of them. My heart felt full from all the love he showed me, although I still held some sort his resentment for his betrayal, a part of me knew he meant well. “Good morning.” He muttered, “I love you.” I smiled back, unsure if I should respond. He brushed a strand of hair off my face, “I meant everything I said last night. I will keep you safe.” I nodded, pressing a kiss to his knuckles. He tried to kiss me and then I gagged, “Are you— “I’m fine. It’s just…” I quickly bolted out of the bed, and ran straigh

  • The Moonlight Affair     Chapter 66–Monty and Dinah

Sixty-Six—Monty and Dinah **MONTY** I heard a knock on the door, thinking it was Himmel with the jar of pickles I had to beg him to deliver, only for me to be surprised. It was already and almost past midnight. Dinah was at my door, a sudden occurrence, as in all twenty six years of my life she’d barely visited me. I didn’t even think she knew where I lived. “Can I come in?” She asked. I nodded, almost too reverently, “Sure do…please…you’re welcome.” I almost cursed myself out loud for looking so desperate in front of her. She brushed past me and her sweet scent of cherry shampoo wafted through my nose I gasped loudly. “So uhh…to what do I owe this honor.” She took off her jacket and I was met with an almost naked body of her. My mouth dropped open, “Ohhh…..”**DINAH** I couldn’t sleep, not after he’d just sprung up the news about his feelings towards me. I tried to read a book. I tried sleeping. I tried talking to Saul but was only met wit

  • The Moonlight Affair    Chapter 65–I love You

Sixty-Five—I love you She shook head head, slowly withdrawing her hands from mine, “I’m sorry.” Disappointment washed over me as I rose to my feet, “it’s alright. You don’t have the balls for anything. I don’t blame you.” She frowned deeply, her tears ceased in a millisecond and she shot to her feet, “I beg your pardon??” “You heard me.” I said, carefully baiting her, “You’re a small town with aspirations but no drive to fulfill them. You’re a lazy woman at the end of the day Aurora Thompson.” “Cut it out,” she snapped at me, “Whatever you’re doing. I want you to cut it out.” I laughed, “the truth hurts doesn’t it? You’re clearly not strong enough to do anything. Heck you even plan on giving up on your dreams, poor Aurora always looking for someone to bail her out cause she can’t face her fears.” She slapped me again, really hard across the face, “You bastard!! You don’t know what I’ve been through. You don’t know how much I had to face! Fuck

  • The Moonlight Affair    Chapter 64–Start Over(4)

Sixty-Four—Start Over(4) **AURORA** “Are you out of your goddamn mind?!” I screamed at him. He stared at me, blankly, like he hadn’t just mentioned me aborting my child, “You said you— “I said was worried. I didn’t say get rid of the baby?!!” My eyes widened in shock as to how he could even suggest a thing. He sighed, “it’s your choice. I just didn’t want you to be under the impression, that you’re forced to do anything. I’ll be supportive either way.” I rubbed my temple in frustration, “I’m not killing our baby..your baby…whatever it is growing inside of me. I’ll deal with it. Killing is not an option.” He heaved a sigh of relief, “I’m glad you’re not.” I rolled my eyes. Something about myself annoyed me, how protective I was of a being that I had not even met yet. I sighed deeply and focused on my dinner. He wasn’t eating anymore, so looked up at him, “Is something wrong with the food?” “No.” “What is wrong then?” “Us.” My brow a

  • The Moonlight Affair    Chapter 62–Start Over(3)

Sixty-Two—Start Over(3) “Ash?!!” I cried out again. I placed a hand over his head, he had a burning fever. He let out a muffle, a very weak one, “Aurora…” “I’m here.” I frantically placed his hand on my cheek, “Ash? Please stay with me.” “Wolfsbane…” he drawled again, his hands were shaking as he pointed at one of his unhealed wounds. I noticed the speck of purple power around it. I gasped. I had barely noticed it and neither did the doctors at the hospital. “Stay put.” I pleaded and grabbed a towel from the grocery bag. It was one of my purchases. I quickly rushed to the kitchenette, luckily it had water gushing out of it, not the cleanest but it still worked. I wet the towel and rushed back to him, placing it on his forehead to reduce his fever. He was burning up badly, the wolfsbane was eating through his wound and probably going down his bloodstream. My eyes already started to water, I hated the man but I didn’t want him dead. I couldn’t stand th

  • The Moonlight Affair    Chapter 61-Start Over(2)

Sixty One—Start Over(2) A start over?? It seemed all too late. I sighed deeply, pushing his hand away gently, “We can’t.” Disappointment washed over him, “Why can’t we?” “You’re a werewolf. I’m human.” I frowned, “Also the fact that your whole pack is probably after me right now, plus the hunters looking to kill you..and me too for stealing their car. What else?? Yes! There’s a whole fucking creature that almost killed you!!” **ASHER** She was right. It was all too complicated. Spirits were high, tensions loomed. We were on both sides of a very tight rope. She was in danger and I was in it too. I sighed in defeat, “You’re right. It’s all too complicated. I just want to— A grumble. It was loud. I watched the color drain from her face as she clutched onto her hospital gown, “Aurora are you hungry?” “No.” She grunted. Her stomach said otherwise, gargling even more to nag of its lack of food. My eyes beamed with amusement, she sneered at
