Chapter 12: First Mission

Su Lan was busy with her lessons and cooking. A month after her lessons her skill with magic improved to a level that froze Liu Shan and Shun on the spot. Soon both of them got numb and thought this is Su Lan so it is normal.

On this day, Su Lan was once again in the middle of her history lesson but suddenly a screen popped out.

Her info screen showed a mission request. After she looked at the screen her eyebrow started to twitch.

On the screen:

Hello, welcome to the mysterious and unbelievable game. Since you've been given a month to adapt it is time to start the game.

Mission 1

Go and make some friends outside of this manor. Get invited to their home and find out ..... will tell you when you get there.

Mission time: 1 Week

Mission reward: Undecided

Mission punishment: Undecided

Su Lan (in her mind): What kind of game is this! How is it mysterious in any way! It is definitely unbelievable! What does undecided reward and punishment even mean! Everyone knows that Su Lan is a weirdo who is always in her lab making her medicine and getting knocked out from it. With everyone staying away from her how can she make any friends! Not to mention her work load! Her lessons take up all her time! What happened to her mission was just to live in this world?!

After Su Lan finished flipping out in her mind her teacher was looking at her. Su Lan's face still had an expressionless look so her teacher couldn't tell the battle she had in her mind.

Su Lan: "Yes?"

History Teacher: "Today's lesson ends here, are there any questions?"

Su Lan: "No, thank you for your time as always."

History teacher picked up her books and left.

Su Lan had no idea where to start on her mission. She was never talkative and had no experience in making friends. Her “friends” were people she had contact with in class before. After leaving school there was no contact! Also she wasn’t good at socializing either. Su Lan wanted to cry.

Su Lan went back to her room and locked the door and windows. She headed into her space and called her Su Ling (the garden spirit).

Su Lan: “Su Ling!”

Su Ling: “Yes?”

Su Lan: “Do you have a book for “how to make friends for dummies” ?”

Su Ling: “...”

Su Ling: “You came here to ask for a book for how to make friends?”

Su Lan: “...yes…”

Su Ling: “Did you forget you have a computer in the room connected to your original world?”

Su Lan: “Wasn’t it only to make purchases?”

Su Ling: “... didn’t see the websites you were on before? It is still there.”

Su Lan: “...haha...maybe...but I don’t use any chats online before where do I post my question?”

Su Ling: “..... Go figure it out! You are a college student!”

Su Lan: “Well, I don’t really use social apps.”

Su Ling: “....why is my spirit life so hard..”

Su Lan: “... cough.. I'm going to make an account now.”

Su Lan posted online:

How to make friends? Urgent. Please answer ASAP.

Lovepancake: Huh? Don’t you just naturally make them?

MangoMango: Just grab them to eat out.

FriedChickenNumber1: Just throw them money.

Currylover: Upstairs those are lackey not friends.

Su Ling who was looking on the side couldn’t look anymore.

Su Ling: “Where did you post this?! Why are all their names food related?!”

Su Lan turned and looked at Su Ling.

Su Lan: “... under the food blog I always look at…”

Su Ling: “....”

In the end Su Lan decided to wing it.  She left her room and headed out. She had to start working on her mission. A week isn’t enough! Everyone knew her as the weirdo who always stayed at home and never went out to any events. She was well known because of her constant poisoning causing her father to keep running back home. Also because the king made the transportation portal near Lui Shan’s home just so he could run back home to her. Su Lan started to see crows fly across the screen thinking of the rumors spread about her. Although 90% of it was the truth. 

She told Mango to inform all her teachers that she would take a day off today. After Mango left she went to the kitchen to make lunch and dessert. She packed up the drink and lunch in another basket and put it into her space. Then she took an empty basket and covered the lid and walked out. Shun had told Su Lan that space magic is rare and most space accessories only extremely rich with high status family heads would have it. Su Lan was forbidden to use space magic outside. 

Su Lan decided to go to the castle to look for her father. Since Su Lan never went anywhere beside her lab and house since she was left to her father.  She decided to try somewhere easy to look for friends. If Su Ling hears Su Lan’s thought he would beat her up for trying the hardest place to look for a friend. Who goes to a castle to look for friends! Su Lan changed into a light sky blue dress with white and pink decorations. She tied her hair with a ribbon of the same fabric with similar design. Su Lan had taken a long time to convince Lui Shan to stop buying everything in pink. She finally managed to get different color clothings but Lui Shan still made sure it had some pink on it! Su Lan finally gave up and decided to pretend not to see it.

Su Lan took her empty basket and went in the carriage. She told the driver to go to the castle. After arriving at the castle she had her driver go to ask the guards to inform her father. One of the guards looked at the crest on the carriage and went to inform prime minister Lui Shan.
