The Nerd

My name is Emma and I'm what they call a nerd. Not only that I have multiple nicknames like fathead, uglyface, the list is endless.

Summer is finally over meaning it's back to school well for me more like I'm going to hell, you see I've always been bullied. It started of being an emotional thing but then they started bullying me physically, shoved me against the lockers, some girls actually slap me but I don't do anything I just walk away.

Beep Beep Beep!!

"Emma!!" I hear a shout then a bang at the door. 

"Emma wake your ass up" 

"Language young lady!" another voice says. 

"Sorry mama" 

"Emma wake up or we are going to be late" 

"I'm awake" I say as I get up urgh I really don't want to go to school. 

I took a short shower then put on a pair of jeans and a white shirt with some black boots. Then dried my hair and I looked myself in the mirror I was a good size 14, I know I'm a little big but I loved myself but my size is what got me bullied. 

I then went downstairs and found my sister Lia with my mother. 

"morning" I mutter as I took a bite of a pancake. 

"We are going to be late because your fatass was too lazy to get up" 

Did I mention that my sister hates my guts why? you ask I also don't know. 

"let's go" it's all she says and I just follow her. 

"bye mom" I say as I head out. 

"bye sweety" 

We reached her car and drove off, the was only awkward silence in the car but I was used to it she never made any effort to speak to me or anything. 

"Remember when we go inside you don't know me. Don't speak to me or look at me for any matter you got that?" 

I just nodded it's not like I would the girl doesn't even defend me when I'm being bullied my own sister just laughs at me and then walks away. 

I got out not saying anything to her and got in the school. I was on my way to the locker I was so close that was up until a hand grabs hold of my backpack and pulls me backwards forcefully, the hand then let's go of it and I fall flat on my butt and it hurts. 

"well, well, well what do we have here" 

When I looked up it was Zach my bully and also my crush. He wasn't always my bully you see he used to my best friend before we got to high school. We used to do everything together he even used to defend me from bullies but then when we came to high school he became my bully I don't know what changed between us. 

He then grabs hold of my backpack again pulling me up and then shoved me against the locker. When I looked to the sides I see that people are gathering around and my eyes land on my sisters and all she does is smile. 

I really wanted to cry but I won't give them the satisfaction of seeing me cry never have and never will. 

"I thought I'd never see your ugly face again fatass" he says with hatred in his eyes why does he hate me so much. 

He then gives me a final shove before letting me go and I sink to the floor and I felt a tear roll down my eye but I quickly wiped it and went to my locker and took my books and went to class. 

"Okay everybody get sitted please" 

"good now that I have everybody's attention, I am giving you an assignment in this assignment you work in pairs."

"Okay so Lily you are with Danny" 

"Roni with Aaron" 

.... 

"Emma with Zach" 

"Bu-" Zach beat me to it. 

"I'm not working with her, I'd rather work alone" 

"Work alone you get a fail... So in this assignment" 

"the details are in this document so I made copies come and take one each" 

I took the document barely looking at it my head still wrapping around the fact that I'm going to have to work with my bully. 

"Everyone go sit with your partners" 

When I looked over to him I saw that he made no move to come to my table so I guess I have to go to his. 

As I made my way over to him a leg tripped me and I fell and they all just laughed so I just got up and went over to Zach and sat down when I looked up I saw that he was not laughing in fact he looked angry but then those emotions were gone the second they came. 

"the fuck are you looking at" 

"I'm sorry" I mutter and look away. 

I couldn't concentrate on the rest of class I kept on thinking about how the fact I'm going to work with him and how he smelled so good. 

Immediately after the bell rang I took my belonging and exited the class well more like ran. 

I got to my locker and put all my books inside. 

"Heyy bishh" then I saw Tyler and Rosa heading my way, I immediately smiled they were my rock and I loved them for that. 

"Hey guys" I hug them and we then went to the cafeteria. 

When we got there Brittney and her crew blocked us from going to our sits and she was glaring specifically at me. 

"If you fucking bitch think that because Zach is forced to work with you, you can get your filthy claws on him think again." and with that she walked away. 

When we got to our table Tyler really couldn't help himself. 

"Come on spill the teaa" 

"there's nothing to spill it's just a stupid assignment Zach is forced to do with me but I have no doubt in my mind I'm going to be the one doing the assignment and alone too." 

The rest of the classes were boring and school was finally over so I went outside and waited for Lia to come out of the gym. So I just sat and listened to music. 

" You can do the work on your own"this came from a voice behind me and I knew it was Zach. 

"okay" is all I said I mean I already knew was going to do the work alone so no surprise there. 

He just remained silent and then he said something I was not expecting ever in a million years. 

"You can come over to my house tomorrow" 

"uh-er... o-ok" 

He then left me a and I was still shocked but a little excited I was going over to his house it's been years.
