Chapter three.

Skylar woke up the next day feeling a bit more alive. She was starting to feel a rise in her positive energy.

So she decided.

She wouldn't think of anything or nothing. For today she would go out, have fun, and forget about everything else.

With this in mind, she threw open the window. Blasted her speakers on as she played 'move like Jagaar.' down stairs and danced/dressed up for school.

By the time she was done it was already some minutes past eight.

I am late. Skykar gave up her thoughts on breakfast, grabbed her bag and raced down the road to catch the bus.

The day went even better than she expected. It wasn't as bad as the other day.

At the end of her second class, Skykar felt much better. She was able to keep off the gossips by wearing an ear plug.

Although it wasn't much help since she knew they must be talking about her.

She already made a decision. She only had to hold on to the end of the semester. Then she'd transfer to another school.

She was busy packing her books when she felt someone tap on her shoulder.

Unplugging her music she looked up at the blondie standing in front of her questionly.

"You form teacher asked me to call you?"

Form teacher? Skykar questioned in her head but never less replied with a small smile.

"Got it."

Slowly, she picked up her bag, then headed towards Mr John's office. Pondering about the reason behind her summon.

She knocked on the door with dread and was immediately given a reply.

"Come in."

Skykar straighten up unconsciously, expelling every signs of tardiness she very knew he hated, before walking in.

"Good afternoon Mr John." She plastered on a smile. "You sent for me?"

"Hmmm...take your sit." Mr John didn't look up, instead he hurried through the piles of paper on his desk.

"How have you been?" He pushed his glass up, after finding what the paper he was looking for.

"Good. Very good." Skylar replied lightly.

Mr John studied her for some seconds, then sighed. "If you say so. I really am not going to involve my self in you youngsters troubles."

Skykar gave a short smile. Knowing exactly what he meant.

"Anyways...I called you today because...." Mr John sracthed his beards disturbingly. "Yes...it would be our colleges anniversary in two weeks time. There will be a literary art performance."

Skykar felt lost for some seconds then asked. "And...."

"I remember seeing on your form that you can sing." Mr John pointed out.

I don't think this is going to be nice.

"You will be singing on stage."

"What....?" Skylar literally blew the ceiling with her scream.

"I know you don't want to do this, but you are the only person I can trust Skylar." Mr John said not so sadly. "The others are either too tight on schedules or have taken a leave for filming...you know the entertaining lifestyle."

I don't know. Skylar cried out in her heart.

"Here is a flyer." He passed her the paper he had fished out before. "Invite your friends. Anyone and everyone. Even families included."

No...no..no.no.

"Mr John....." Skylar whined without a care.

"Come on. Go for lunch. It will be time for your next class soon." He drove her out decisively. "I know you can do this. Girl power!!"

Sing? On stage?

Skylar's energy ran back to zero at the though, as she wandered aimlessly from hall to hall.

She was hit with a pang of headache and was thinking of visiting the sick bay when she ran into a figure.

"Ouch." The slight pain in her ankle flared up as she bounced away from the hard muscles.

Are people now made of stones or what? She cursed.

"I was looking for you."

Magically, all the pain disappeared the moment she heard the voice. "You...!! Grayson!?"

"I came over to your apartment in the morning." He said accusingly. "You already left."

"I....I..... didn't....know..." Skylar felt uncomfortable all over.

"No bother." Grayson waved. Then pressed. "What happened? You looked a bit lost."

"Nothing......" Skykar munched on her lips when he raised a brow.

Lying. Aren't we?

Grudgingly. She let it spill. "I just got informed I would be singing for the college anniversary in two weeks."

"You can't sing?" Grayson tugged on her and they both walked towards the cafeteria.

"I......I...can sing." Skylar didn't dare lie. Cause somehow this person seems to see through every single one of hers.

Or is it because she is too easy to read.

"Am just...... afraid. Stage fight." Her face paled even more.

"Afraid of standing on stage? Or is there another reason." Grayson ordered and paid for both of their food, then they found a sit at the very back of the cafeteria. Near a window.

Skykar dragged her foot behind him. Refusing to speak.

Although he knew most of her secrets (from the note) she really wasn't willing to open up.

Grasyon watched her. Then picked on his bag of chips. "It's your choice to tell me or not. It won't change the fact that you will have to perform neither less."

Skykar weighed her options which were really non-existent.

She grabbed on her milkshake. Sipping it quietly. Grayson had given up on her reply, when she suddenly muttered. "Because am fat. They will all laugh at me if I was to go on stage. It is going to be so embarrassing."

"That's...." Grayson frowned. "Why?"

"Hmm..." Skykar looked down on her dangling feet. Once again reminded of her shortness. "Stupid right?"

Grayson stopped eating. Wrinkling his brow. "no. It's not stupid."

"We all have our flaws."

"Somehow. Talking to you feels like a therapy session." Skykar admitted. Feeling a bit more comfortable.

"I study psychology." Grayson deadpanned and Skylar's mouth dropped.

Saying to herself. "I knew it."

Grasyon thought for some seconds then asked. "So if you lose weight you won't be afraid to go on stage. Right?"

Skylar laughed sincerely. "It'd be impossible to lose weight in just two weeks."

"It's not impossible." Grasyon retorted. "To lose some. Maybe not all but at least some. After all you won't be able to avoid performing."

"Right." Skylar nodded.

"So we will do it like this?"

"But....."

"You don't get a choice. As the only theoretical friend of yours, plus your therapist. You can't say no." Grasyon smirked decisively.

Giving Skylar an impulse to ask.

Since when did we became friends?

And as if Grayson could hear her thought. He added. "My little friend."

Forget it.
