Chapter two.

Skylar jumped up in surprise, almost falling over. Her heart beating wildly in her chest.

She looked over her shoulder to meet a familiar pair of green eyes.

It's him.

Thinking about it, she realized he really did look similar to the guy from earlier in the morning.

No.

Not look alike.

It must certainly be him. Skykar crossed.

But looking more closely, and with the help of the day light she realized his hair wasn't actually black. But a dark shade of coffee brown. Falling below the nape of his neck.

He stood up, elegantly dusting the dirt off his pants, both hands inserted in his pockets as he lean back slightly giving off a cool demeanor.

Skykar backed up slightly. Thoroughly intimidated by his stare.

Why is he following me everywhere?

At the same time, he asked, walking over. "Why are you everywhere?"

I don't know. Skykar blanked.

"This is the third time already." He crossed his arm over his chest, looking right down at her. "The very third time."

"I should call the police." Grayson stated which immediately pushed on Skykar's panic mode.

"No....no...." Her eyes popped wide. "Please don't. I swear I really wasn't trying to do it.....really.....please.....I swear....don't call the police...."

"Then what should I do. Let you go so you can try to kill yourself." Grayson scowled. "Again?"

Looking at her appearance she didn't seem like a person who would take her life for such a flimsy reason.... but...

"It's really not what you think." Skylar gritted her teeth as she tried to explain. "I was going to burn it.....the note....I wanted to burn it."

"Are you hungry?" Grayson changed the topic.

Skykar face turned blanked, then she replied. "I already ate."

Unfortunately her stomach betrayed her as it rumbled not so quietly.

"Good. I was too tired to eat earlier." Grasyon stood up, staring at her with piercing gaze. "Let's talk about the note."

Grayson took her to a restaurant near their street, and took the honour in ordering for them both.

While he ate, Skylar stared down at her plate, quietly playing with he fingers which wouldn't stop shaking.

"I haven't read the note. Yet." Skylar's head shot up as Grayson spoke.

Visably unbelieving. "You didn't?.......but you said—"

"Nothing." Grayson pointed out. "I said nothing."

Skylar's face paled as he added. "You refused to let go of the note even after you fainted so I thought it must be important. Plus i really hate going through people's things without their permission."

Skylar had almost breath out in relief when he stated. "But in a case like yours.....I don't know....'

"This.....this is against human right." Skylar argued.

"You prefer I call the police?" The black haired greek god popped a brow which managed to shut her up.

"I won't read the note." Grayson fished the white sheet out of his pocket then slammed it on the table. "Tell me yourself—After all it's why we are here?"

Skykar weighed her options before finally deciding on the one she regarded to be better.

Muttering "read it."

"You said?" Grayson asked, not catching what she said.

"I don't want to talk about it." Skylar repeated. "You can read it."

"Are you sure?" Grayson frowned deeply.

"Hmm..." Skykar nodded wishing he'd be a gentleman and decline.

If only wishes were horses.

Grayson picked up the note, grabbed his glass of pepsi, then reclined on his chair.

Sipping and reading.

Skylar watched him with dim eyes until he finally looked up.

He took his time to speak. "For this—?"

"I said I didn't." Skylar looked away while trying her best to hide the emotions on her face.

He must know now.

"You—?"

"I don't want to talk about it."

Grayson stared at her for some seconds, then sighed neatly folding the paper into his pocket. "Eat."

Skylar shook her head. "I don't want to eat."

Suprisgnly, George didn't argue with her. Pushing his chair back. "Then let me walk you home."

He ordered for her untouched food to be packed in takeaway then they left.

They hadn't gone far when he noticed Skylar had a little difficulty with walking.

"Does it still hurts?" He asked referring to the accident from their first meeting.

Skykar looked up confused for a second. Then replied. "No....I mean.....yes... I slipped earlier before—ehm....you came."

"Is it bad?" Grayson gave her a worried look.

"It'd be fine." Skykar said stifly.

Unlucky, been the unlucky person she was, she kicked a stone in the next minute. Falling face planted on the ground.

When Grayson got to her, she was already shedding wet tears. Lips pouted in a circle.

He checked on her ankle and Skylar hissed with just a touch.

"It just got worst." Grayson felt the need to applaud her bad luck attraction skills. But been the bigger person he said. "let me carry you."

"No...." Skylar quickly refuted. Face painted red. "Am too heavy."

"And who said that?" Grayson glared at her, turned around then squatted. "get on."

Skykar really didn't want to, but she also didn't want to make him angry so she did as he said.

Suprisgnly. Grayson lifted her without breaking a single sweat.

"Who said been fat makes you heavy?" He smirked.

Skykar tighten her hand around his neck. She was just starting to relax when he asked.

"Is that also why you gave up on acting?"

"How did you......?" The stupid note. Skylar felt a need to slap herself.

She really wish she hadn't written that note in the first place.

"Don't worry. I won't talk about it." Grayson assured. Adjusting his grip on her legs which was around his waist.

He breath out heavily, then smiled "The skies are really pretty tonight."

Skylar looked up and totally agreed.

It was beautiful.

Grayson paused for a second. Then released one of his hands, supporting Skylar with only one hand which got her to yelp from fear of falling.

Grayson laughed as he pointed at a star. "Look. It's a lone star."

Skykar followed his direction, and nodded. "Hmm."

"Now look closely." He said in a softer tone.

Skykar tried then relayed. "I see nothing."

"Watch for a bit longer this time." Grayson advised.

Suspicious, Skylar looked up again. This time carefully. Her eyes widen when she caught a spark. "I see it. I see it."

"Hmm—" Grayson pretended to be oblivious. "What do you see?"

Skykar calmed her eagerness then replied. "There are more stars around it. Although hard to see. But they are there. It isn't a lone star."

Picking on her childish tone, Grayson held back a chuckle.

Their building was already in sight.

He walked past his apartment and to hers. While Skylar patiently waited to hear what the star thing was all about.

"Should I take you in?" He asked.

"No. Thanks." Skykar quickly refuted. And Grayson placed her down in front of her door.

He looked down on her. Just like it has always been since they first met.

More than usual, Skykar hated her shortness.

As if hearing her thoughts Grayson chuckled lightly. Then said seriously. "Sometimes, you just have to look closer to realize you are not alone. Lonliness is just a self prison made by once ignorance to society and the people around you who actually really care. Okay?"

"So even if you see no one. There's still a star next to you. Shining."

Skylar felt emotional at his words. But his last words cause a doubt to stir in her heart. "What is that star?"

"Me of course." He patted on her hair which he always thought was very cute. "The name is Grayson. Grayson black."

While Skykar was still recovering from the shock of been treated like a fat, fluffy, cat. he shoved the takeout into her arms. "Eat well and try not to kill yourself anymore, little girl. Okay?"

"Also. You should.put some ice on that wound."

He threw her one last handsome smile before walking away. "See you tomorrow. My little new friend."

Little girl??

Little new friend??

Skykar took a double hit.

Mumbling to herself. "I am twenty three. Twenty three isn't little."

Then she smiled to herself as she realized the note tucked in her hair.

He returned it.

Grayson.

Grayson Black.
