"Give me back my strawberry cupcake!" I put my lunch tray down and sat at the chair.
"Can you guys please stop bickering with each other? You guys looked like an old married couple." I looked at them weirdly. Andy dropped the cupcake at her tray and they both looked away. I could see a faint blush from Julia's cheeks.
I raised my eyebrow looking at them but they avoided my stares.
"Hey guys." Carmen came with her lunch and sat at my right.
"Hey." we greet her, Carmen turned to Andy and Julia then raised her eyebrow looking at me. I shrugged and eat my pizza.
"Okay, so did you guys know?" Carmen said.
I shook my head still chewing my food "know what?" Julia asked.
"The new student." Carmen said in a 'duh' tone. "So he was in my first class and I hate to say this but he is literally hot more hot than Liam. "No offence val." she turned to me.
"None taken."
"What's his name?" Julia asked.
"What are you guys talking about?" I turned around to see my boyfriend standing behind me.
"Liam where have you been?" I said, he sat next to my left beside Andy.
"Biology, that's why." I frowned looking at him "what's wrong with biology?" He sighed "I failed the quiz."
"No wonder Mr. Matthews held you back." Julia said cause she and Liam has the same class.
"But how can you failed biology? I found that subject pretty easy."
Liam rolls his eyes "Not all of us are a genius here." this time Julia rolls her eyes "I'm only joking, chill." I chuckled, Julia is the smartest person in our group, she always passed every test with an A plus on it. I wonder how her brain works,
I put my hand on his shoulder, he turned to me "I can help you with that." I smiled at him. He raised his eyebrow teasingly "You sure, do you even take biology?"
"Well, no but I can try to help you." I smile sheepishly.
When I was going to asked him about biology, all of a sudden the cafeteria grew silent. I frowned and looked around so are my friends, I followed their gaze and it landed on the entrance. I turned my head slightly to take a peak of the person. My eyes widen, is this a dream? I blink my eyes couple time but he's still there.
Carmen said "That's the new student that I meant." he scan the place then walked towards the cafeteria and I turned my head back before he sees me.
Carmen nudged my arm and I shrugged it away, she nudges my arm a little hard this time "val!" She yelled in whisper "What?" I snapped.
"Why is he heading towards our table?" Oh no "He is?"
"Yes." I came up with a plan to leave the cafeteria but I have to make a good excuse in case my friends are wondering. I took my phone out and put it in my ear, pretending that my abuela call me.
"Abuela, cómo estás?" Carmen raised her eyebrow and I mouthed abuela, I gestured to her that I have to go and she nodded.
"Sí, lo sé." I grab my bag and walked hurriedly out of the cafeteria through the school courtyard and find a safe place to hide. Once I'm safe I breath out relieved that no one notice I'm gone.
I put my phone in my pocket and took a peak to see where that boy is located but I didn't found him. I feel someone tapped my shoulder, I swatted the person hand and keep looking inside the cafeteria to find that boy. Someone keep tapping my shoulder and it seriously making me irritated.
"Looking for someone?" A voice said from behind me.
"Yeah, but I couldn't find him." I said still scanning the cafeteria.
"Well maybe you're looking in the wrong place" I furrowed my eyebrow. "How do you know?"
"Try turn around." I slowly turn around, a look of shocked plastered on my face. He stood there with a smirk on his face. "W-what are y-you doing h-here?" I stuttered.
"I'm here to study." he said in a 'duh' tone. "No, I meant you were there a minute ago," I pointed at the cafeteria "How can you be here?" I looked at him confused.
He leans his body to the nearby wall while shoving his hands in his pocket and closed his eyes. "I have my ways." he said.
I took a moment to study his appearance, he had a lean yet muscular build, with a white shirt, ripped jeans and a pair of converse he wears. I could slightly see his outlining abs from his shirt. His dirty blonde hair was slightly messy but he pulled it off the looks. Not all boys could pulled the messy kind of hair.
Carmen was right, this boy is hot. He open his eyes and smirk, obviously caught me looking at him. I looked away and fight the blush that starting to creep to my cheeks.
"You could take a picture it'll last longer."
"Who said I was looking at you? And why are you looking for me?" I cross my arms over my chest. He pushed himself from the wall and walked up to me until he was a few inches away, I step back startled by his action.
"W-what are you doing?" My eyes widen "You're lying." he said.
"N-no, I'm not." he step back "Whatever you say, your mom told me that I could find you so you could show me around school." he shrugged and walked back to the school. Seriously my mom told him that? He then stop in his track and looked back "Oh you have something on your cheek." he glances at me and smirks mischievously.
I took my phone out and check my face in the screen, damn! No wonder he knows. My cheeks are red. I looked up to see him but he's no longer there. I cursed under my breath for blushing in front of him.
Damn this cheek! Blushing at the wrong time and damn myself I couldn't take my eyes from his looks.
Valerie HernandezThe past few days had been surprisingly okay. Everything seemed to be falling into place, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of relief wash over me. I was happy that I was no longer fighting with Tyler, and even Liam had admitted his wrongdoings and apologized. It was a welcome change, and I was grateful for the peace that had settled over. However, I don’t know about Tyler and Liam. But it seems like they haven’t gotten over the fight yet. Tyler broke Liam nose and even after a week, the bruised is still visible. Whereas Tyler only had a small cut on his lips and bruised knuckles, but the rest is fine.Liam and I no longer shared the same table at lunch, but we still acknowledged each other with a small smile or a simple "hey" as we passed in the hallways. It was a far cry from the tension that had once existed between us, and I was glad that we had finally been able to move past it.Then there was Tyler. Despite still having detention, he was finally back at scho
Tyler WilliamsThe next day dawned with a heavy sense of regret weighing on my shoulders. As I tried to approach Valerie, she quickly avoided me, slipping away before I could even say a word. Even at school, she managed to evade me, leaving me feeling like a complete idiot.I couldn't shake the guilt that gnawed at me. My behavior had been completely uncalled for. Valerie had been there for me yesterday, worried about me, and instead of being grateful, I had pushed her away like some kind of jerk. The next day was no different. I woke up early, hoping to catch Valerie before she left for school, but it seemed she had gone with her dad again, slipping through my fingers once more. Another missed opportunity to talk to her, to make things right.Feeling frustrated and desperate, I headed to the auto shop to see if Trevor could help me. I needed to know Valerie's work schedule, but when I asked Trevor, he refused to tell me. Apparently, it was at Valerie's request."Come on, Trevor," I p
Tyler WilliamsI waved my hands triumphantly from inside my car, a wide, arrogant smile plastered on my face as the host announced me as the winner. The crowd roared with excitement as I drove my car out of the rink, the adrenaline still coursing through my veins. As soon as I stepped out of the car, a familiar voice called my name with a tone that sent shivers down my spine. I turned to see Valerie marching towards me, her expression a mix of anger and concern. Behind her were Ryan and Trevor, trying to catch up to Valerie.I felt a surge of shock and confusion. How did Valerie know I was here? And why did she look so angry? It didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out how she found out, with Ryan and Trevor standing right behind her.I sighed heavily as Valerie stood in front of me, her eyes blazing with anger. She wasted no time in scolding me, her words coming out furiously."Do you have any idea how crazy that was, Tyler?" she demanded, her voice trembling with emotion. "Do yo
Valerie HernandezAs I continued working on the car in the auto shop, I lost track of time, engrossed in the task at hand. Suddenly, Trevor appeared beside me, his voice breaking through the quiet hum of the workshop."Valerie, it's past your working shift," he said gently. "It's time for you to go home."I smiled at him, shaking my head slightly. "It's fine, Trevor," I replied, my voice soft with reassurance. "I just want to finish up here."Trevor approached me, leaning against the side of the car I was fixing. "Are you waiting for Tyler to come back?" he asked, his eyes searching mine for answers.I placed the tools I was holding on the workbench and let out a sigh. "Yeah," I admitted, my voice tinged with worry. "I just want to make sure he's okay after everything that's happened."I couldn't shake the feeling of unease that had settled over me ever since Tyler's outburst earlier. Between his suspension, the news of his father getting married to Liam's mother, it felt like Tyler w
Valerie Hernandez"Tyler! Liam! Stop!" I screamed their name hoping for the fight to stop but it is no use. My voice drowned with the shouting and cheering from the students who gather at the parking lot to witness a fight."Both of you stop!" I tried once again but it is no use. None of them could hear me over the roar of the crowd. The cheers and shouts are getting louder. But amidst the chaos, I could only watch in horror as the fight escalated, my heart pounding in my chest. As the fight grew more serious, panic gripped me like a vice. I watched helplessly as Tyler and Liam continued to exchange blows, each one landing with sickening thuds. Tears pricked at the corners of my eyes as I pleaded for them to stop, but my words fell on deaf ears.Just as I feared the worst, a teacher emerged from the school building, shouting for them to stop. The fight came to an abrupt halt as Tyler and Liam were pulled apart, their faces bruised and bloodied."You two, to the principal's office, now
Valerie HernandezThe next morning, I felt a wave of delight rush over me. Despite the lingering weight of yesterday's events, there was a warmth in my chest as I recalled the laughter and camaraderie shared with Tyler. But the memory of him betting on me soured the sweetness, reminding me of the reckless gamble he had made with my safety. Since he apologize, it is all in the past now and what happened had happened. Luckily, my parents are a deep sleeper so last night as I sneaked in, it was safe to say, for now.I glanced at the clock beside my bed, with a quick stretch, I threw back the covers and swung my legs over the edge of the bed, ready to face the day ahead. After a quick shower and a change of clothes, I made my way downstairs to the kitchen, the scent of freshly cooked pancakes wafting through the air. My dad was at the stove, flipping pancakes with practiced ease, a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips as he caught sight of me."Morning, sweetheart," he greeted m
