Chapter Nineteen (19)

Emma's POV

It was the last day of school before spring break and I was just leaving the parking lot to go to my car.

When I got to my car, there was a note stuck in between the wipers.

I thought it was a note from KB but when I picked it up, the handwriting was different.

Then I read what it said. What I read gave me chills: The past that I'd try to run away from for a long had come back to hunt me.

      “I told you I'd be back for you."

Was all the note said.

But how could this be? I thought he was arrested and put in jail for a long time.

“Hey babe." KB said. I didn't even know when he approached me.

I squeezed the note in my hand and put a fake smile on my face.

“Hi. What's up?" I asked, my voice sounding higher than usual.

“I just wanted to tell you that I have soccer practice for the first time in two weeks. But I'll co
