Derek's POV

The night after the battle, I found myself standing at the edge of the Crescent Moon forest, staring at the darkness like it might swallow the guilt in my chest. The war was over. Clarissa had fought like a storm. She was fierce, untouchable and alive. I'd never seen her that way before, and I couldn’t shake off the attitude she gave me when we met across the battlefield. Though blind, she looked confused, pained and angry.

She hadn’t expected me to be on the battlefield and I could see it in the way her hand faltered around her blade for just a second. But more than that, I knew what she saw. She saw me, the one who’d broken her heart without warning, and now wanted her back.

I didn’t blame her for walking away.

I was so engrossed in my thoughts that I was no longer conscious of my environment. Then, I had a vision.

In this vision, the moon was full. I was alone in my room, the air was thick with old memories and the smell of blood from the fight. I hadn’t meant

  • The Omega Queen   Chapter 58

Clarissa’s POVThe days following my encounter with Derek and my meeting with Drey became really hazy. I became confused and knew that I needed to seek counsel fast. Camelia’s house was locked the last time I visited and I heard that she went on a journey. Upon hearing that she had returned, I decided to visit her and seek her counsel. As I walked through the forest, I couldn’t help but wonder if there was a way to clear the fog inside my mind. Derek and Drey- both of them were pulling at me, but in different ways. I loved them both, in different times and for different reasons. But what did that even mean?Could I choose? Was it even possible to decide between the two?My steps grew more deliberate, and soon I found myself in front of Camelia’s modest home. I knocked twice, the sound echoing in the night. A moment later, the door opened, and there stood Camelia, with her dark eyes searching me, already sensing the conflict within me.“You’ve come,” she said softly. “I knew you would

  • The Omega Queen   Chapter 57

Drey's POV Life has taken a beautiful turn for me. Clarissa was back and it felt as though her return had brought with it missing parts of my life. I couldn't take her thoughts out of my mind. No matter how many times I tried to sit still, to breathe through it, my thoughts betrayed me. I had paced that room a hundred times already, the floor creaking under my feet with each heavy step. Her name lingered in my head like a whispered spell. The way her voice softened when she spoke to me, the way her eyes carried storms and stars at the same time. I could still hear the way she said my name as though it belonged to her. But she wasn’t mine. Not really. Not yet. Since the fight with the Crescent Moon pack, things had changed. Clarissa had changed. She carried herself with more strength now, but her eyes... her eyes held something else. Confusion, pain and torn edges she tried to hide. And I knew why. Derek. He was back, sniffing around her like the past hadn't happened. And she

  • The Omega Queen   Chapter 56

Clarissa’s POV Life, sometimes, presents one with surprises that one doesn't expect. Who would have thought that I, Clarissa, a blind, rejected and despised Omega would be a force everyone wants to reckon with?Of all the surprises I least expected, it was Derek's return. He returned and began to chase me with the intention of getting us back to where we were before things suddenly turned sour.I could feel the way he related with me like I was the answer to every question he'd never asked. Like I was a miracle he had once touched and lost. That shook something loose in me, something I had buried so deep I thought it had died. But love doesn’t die. It waits.I clenched my fists as I remembered his voice calling my name after the battle. The way he staggered toward me, ignoring the wounds he must have sustained during the battle and the tiredness he felt. I could feel the way he looked at me. “Clarissa…” he had said, like it was a prayer. And just like that, everything I had held to

  • The Omega Queen   Chapter 54

Clarissa's POV The battle wasn’t over yet.I could hear the howls, the screams, the clash of claws and bodies. The air was thick with dust and the sharp, bitter smell of blood. The earth beneath my feet shook as warriors fell, some crying out, others silent. I could taste the fear in the air.But I didn’t stop.I couldn’t.Each breath burned my throat, each step was a struggle, but I moved forward. Blind as I was, I could still feel the fight around me. I felt the energy, the movement, and the rage of every soul on this field. My wolf guided me. The instincts buried deep in my bones had taken over. Every heartbeat was a signal, every change in the wind told me where to turn. Then suddenly, something changed. There was a new scent. It was familiar and sharp. It was like cold steel and brought back old memories. And the moment I sensed him, I froze.Derek.His presence sliced through the chaos like a blade through silk.I stood there, my body rigid, my claws trembling at my sides. My he

  • The Omega Queen   Chapter 53

Drey's POV Trouble!I could smell the tension in the air long before I saw anything. It was sharp, metallic, and heavy. It was a scent I knew all too well.War was approaching, and it was doing so at a very fast rate. The knock on my door was so frantic such that one couldn't ignore it.I opened it to find Owen, one of the younger scouts, breathless and wide-eyed. "They're coming. The Crescent Moon pack. They're moving fast and they'll be here before dawn."My chest tightened. We'd known this would happen, but not this soon. Not like this."How many?" I asked. He shook his head, eyes glassy. "Too many, they should be att least fifty warriors. Maybe more. They're armed."I nodded once, silently. My heart hammered in my chest, but I couldn’t let the fear show. Not now."Sound the alarm. Wake the guards. Get the warriors to the yard in five minutes."Owen ran off, and I turned to throw on my gear. My thoughts were racing, but one name rose above the noise: Clarissa. Was she even alive?
