1. Unforgettable nightmare

Lian's POV

The dark road was completely silent. No one seemed to be there. It was almost past midnight, that’s why. I was walking alone on the road near the forest of our Ironclaw pack. It was chilly, yet I was only wearing a thin layer of pajamas.

As I moved forward, I saw a car standing a little ahead of me. I quickly went to it, and after opening the door, I got into the passenger seat. Just then, a slap struck my face.

“I have been waiting for the last fifteen minutes. How dare you make me wait for you? Can’t you come sooner?” Josh asked.

Beside me sat a guy with black hair, red eyes, and a big body. He was the son of our Ironclaw pack’s alpha, meaning he was the heir, the next alpha of our pack. It had been years since we started dating.

When I was eighteen, I thought I would be able to shift just like the others, but no, I wasn’t able to. That was when I found out I was cursed, that I would never be able to shift even though I was a member of a werewolf pack.

That was also when Josh proposed to me, saying he loved me the most. I found it odd at the time since we were both guys, but I was curious too, so I said yes.

Since then, we met secretly every time so that no one would find out about us. Because we were both guys, we couldn’t let the pack know about our relationship.

Josh had even promised me that once he became alpha, he would tell everyone about me. And I believed him like an idiot.

I was sitting there, looking down, when Josh’s hand gripped the back of my neck and turned my head to look at him.

As he did, he pressed his lips against mine, pushing his tongue into my mouth, pulling my lower lip with his teeth before licking it again.

I gently pushed Josh away. “Josh, wait. This is not why I’m here. Can we just talk without getting physical, just one time?”

Every time we met, there was not even once when he didn’t have sex with me. At first, I thought he loved me so much, that’s why he did this. But no,it was not love. It was lust.

At first, I didn’t say anything and just let him do whatever he wanted. But this year, I tried to stop him. I resisted. That was when his true nature came out.

He slapped me and forced himself on me. And since he was the heir of our pack, I didn’t dare to hit him back.

Now, whenever we met, he first raised his hands on me, then had his way with my body.

Whenever he called or messaged me, I didn’t feel like coming here at all, but he threatened to banish me from the pack. That’s why I stayed silent, enduring everything.

I was slapped again as I was lost in my thoughts, snapping me back to reality. My hand touched my cheek.

“You bitch, just shut up and come sit on my lap. I can’t wait to be inside you, and quit saying no. I don’t like it,” he ordered.

He grabbed my hand and pulled me onto his lap in one quick motion. But I couldn’t let this go on anymore. If he wanted to threaten me with banishment, then let him do it.

My family’s rank had already fallen anyway. We were once a beta family. But the very next day after my mother died, my father married my mother’s best friend.

That woman was a single mother, and no one knew who the father of her son was, even though he was the same age as me. But after they got married, I came to know the truth.

That woman’s son, Arin, his father was my father. My father had been having an affair with her all this time, even when my mother was alive.

As soon as she came to live in our house with her son, all of Dad’s attention went to her. He started neglecting his duties, and because of that, our alpha reduced our rank, from beta to omega.

As I made up my mind, I looked at Josh. He was kissing my neck, both his hands gripping my waist. He was hard too, I could feel it beneath me.

“Josh, stop. Now,” I said.

But he didn’t listen. He kept kissing me like he couldn’t hear me at all. When he looked at my lips, his face showing how turned on he was, I grabbed his throat and started to strangle him.

“You fucking piece of shit. Who do you think I am, a prostitute or something? How dare you treat me like this?” I growled.

Even though I looked small compared to every guy in my pack, in reality, I had always been strong enough to knock down someone twice my size.

But I hadn’t used my strength against Josh all this time because he was the heir. But no, I didn’t want to live like this anymore.

At home, because of my stepmother and stepbrother, my life was already hell, and on top of that, Josh was making it even worse.

I let go of his throat, opened the car door, and stepped outside. He followed me immediately.

“What the hell is this?” he shouted, but then suddenly his expression changed into a kind one. “Lian, come on, don’t be angry. Come back inside the car with me. We don’t have much time left.”

Hearing him only made my blood boil. He was still thinking about sex.

I stepped closer to him, my face blank, and slapped him straight across the face. With that single slap, my fingertips left prints on his cheek.

But suddenly, my body started to feel hot. I couldn’t understand what was happening to me.

I grabbed my chest and fell down onto my knees. It felt like I was burning, my whole body was on fire.

“You bitch. After hitting me, now you know your place. Just because I like your body, you play hard to get, and you even dare to hit me? I’ve had enough of you now,” he snarled.

He kicked me in the stomach, sending me crashing down onto the ground.
