"Hm. What is this?" I ask, starting to read. When I reach the important part, I stop and look back up at him, "Divorce."

"That's not all," he says and urges me to continue, so I turn to the next paper, "In case you don't understand, that's me leaving everything in Ash's name. His legal name is Ashton Tate Doreen, right?"

"Ashton Tate Doreen," I repeat and nod as I read my son's name in this document. There's a lot of '100%' here, "What if you have more kids?"

"Without you, I won't," he easily responds. I gulp and look up again, trying not to show how much I liked hearing that, "I'll get rid of poor Sierra before she loses whatever’s left of her mind. I'm more than certain she is not pregnant, since we haven't had sex in over five months. After her, I won't take another wife, so... no more kids."

"You can make a kid without a wife.”

"I doubt it," he responds, "It's not like I'm interested in sex if it isn't with you."

What a nice thought. My heart is eager to believe it, but

  • The Omega Who Walked Away   Let’s Get Her

Cassie is awake now, but Ash is still too distracted by the video game he’s playing to even turn to look at me. "Hey, did you hear that?" I ask, sitting down next to my bestie. "I heard something, but I couldn't make it out... was it Remington?" Cassie asks with a yawn, I nod. "He did a bunch of really good stuff," I murmur and show the papers to her before throwing them on the nightstand so I can sign whatever I need to sign later, "Like, so good, I think I'll be able to pay you for all the free housing you've given us. Plus a bonus." Her eyes open really wide and she asks me to explain, but I tell her we can talk about it tomorrow. Right now, I need her to kindly evacuate with my son. Fifteen minutes later as I'm quickly picking up the mess we had here, the door opens and Remington walks in wearing a white cotton shirt and gym shorts. And his hair is damp, as if he took a quick shower before coming here. "Sorry for the mess," I murmur, giving up on the cleaning since h

  • The Omega Who Walked Away   Unraveling

"Why are you always lurking, huh?” I growl as I follow her, "Where are you going?! Stop.” "I'm sorry," she lets out, stopping when we reach the empty dining room. She turns to me and lifts her hands, "I'm really sorry, I... I just can't help it.” "Can't help what?" I snap, looking at her soft face with narrowed eyes, "Stalking me? And who ordered that? Tatiana or Sierra?" "Neither of them," she whispers, looking down to the floor, then up to my eyes again, "Like Jessy said, people like us should stick together. And she's right, you know? I—I don’t think we shouldn't be treated the way we are just because we're omegas." "Yeah, duh. Congratulations on discovering that the world completely sucks and things should be different," I laugh, because that's simply a known fact, "What does that have to do with stalking me?" "Well, you're the only hope we have!” she blurts out in a frustrated way, "If we want things to be different, we have to fight for change. Nobody is going to look out f

  • The Omega Who Walked Away   Crazy In Love

I can't believe Remington has all that nerve, to try and tell me what to do. He doesn't fucking want me, so who cares if I flirt with another Alpha who can get me ahead? The only reason I didn't punch him in the fucking neck is because I want him to give me money before I leave. I need it to start over… but I also need a job, right? I can't go through life without one. But more than that, I just want to feel normal. I want to have an office job, that’s my pathetic little dream. I want it to be reliable and stable, I want it to be boring, I want to do the same thing every day for years. I want to prove everyone—even myself—that I can be a part of something without destroying it. "Ivy," someone calls my name as I'm walking in a hazed rage straight for the kitchen because my stomach is starting to cramp with hunger. But that sweet voice has just stopped me. It's Sierra, Remington's gorgeous wife, "We need to talk." "No, I need to eat and you need to stay away from me," I tell he

  • The Omega Who Walked Away   Play Hard

"Hey," Felix says and looks at Remington with true confusion, "What's your problem? We have history too, okay? We're friends." "Exactly," I say and hook my arm around his, staring right at Rem, "I’m taking him to the fountain to have a conversation. In safe territory.” Remington takes a step back and looks at me as if I just declared I will be marrying another man because he's a better political match for me. He actually looks flabbergasted right now. "Felix, can you head there first? I have to talk to Alpha Rem about something," I say. Felix looks annoyed and confused, but he agrees and starts walking away with easygoing steps. Once he's far away enough, I turn to Remington again. He grabs my arm and drags me behind him, "Remington, stop." "No," he growls and continues pulling me until we reach the coat closet near the entrance of the house. He opens the door and pushes me inside as if I'm just another old coat before getting in after me. This is not the place for a conversation,

  • The Omega Who Walked Away   Waiting For It

{ Ivy } I shouldn't be disappointed or sad. I shouldn't. Remington has shown me over and over again, he's never going to fight for me. And I got over that long ago. Agreeing to this mates-with-benefits shit was the dumbest fucking idea I've ever had. Remington might be lukewarm about everything in his life and he might be content with having a little bit of something he wants and then put it away, but I'm not like that. I'm all or nothing. If I want something, I need it to happen... and if there's something I don't want, I leave it. But he is once again becoming an addiction that is way too hard to say not to. The way he's so devoted to me, he's so hungry for me, so clearly in love with me... but just for one second. Then he's fine not having me. "Fucker!" I growl to the empty room before throwing myself on the bed and having a little bit of a silent tantrum. There's rage inside my heart, but my body is spent and ready to rest, so I fall asleep just like that and I only wake
