Chapter 5 She can't live after that!

Two days later in the morning Sarah just stood alone in her room. She was thinking about everything the doctor said to her. Today she will be finally free and she is happy to finally reach the end of this Calvary.

But her thoughts are interrupted when someone knocks on the door and she opens the door just to see her brother there holding a tray with a lot of food. She just looked at him with her mouth open and seeing him alone she couldn’t help it and she stuck her head out of the door looking for something.

“You are alone?’ she asked him looking at him strangely. He seems different today. .

“Yes? Can’t you see it?” he asks her and puts the breakfast on her desk. “I brought you some food. You need to eat for tonight's ceremony so you would have enough strength to resist. You can’t faint in the middle of the ceremony.”

Mark was never alone in her room, so this is strange. He is the one who comes with the doctors, but he is a tough guy. He never acted like a brother, rather more like a guardian. And she just remembers and stucks her head out of the door again.

“The guards are not here anymore!” she said, smiling at Mark.

“There is no need for them to be here” and he just points her to the tray of food.

“Eat, Sarah!” he said, stealing a glance at her.

"He act strange" Gal said but Sarah just looks at the food and smiles.

“Is a lot of food here, and it is full of goodies!” and looking in Mark eyes say said :

“Thank you, Mark!” and he just smiled a little, maybe she thinks it was the first time she sees him doing it in front of her, because he is always grumpy around her. Stealing glances and watching her like an eagle.

But as soon as he saw her looking at him like that, Mark became indifferent again.

“Eat all the food! And don't leave the room or I will punish you!” He tells her commandingly and leaves the room.

“He was in a good mood today,” Sarah said laughing.

“Yeah,” Gal also laughs in her mind “He had a little and imploded.”

She ate the bacon and the eggs with some vegetables, but there is still a lot in her tray.

“Why did he bring so much food this time?” she asked herself.

“There is food for two people!” Gal whispered. “Please just stop or we will vomit.”

“We need to eat, Gal. You heard the doctor yesterday. They will take more blood than usual and that new medicine they found affects the stomach. It's the last time, please help me to finish this. I can’t just blow up all the efforts now, when everything is almost finished.

“Still is too much food, Sarah!” Gal cried.

“One more time. We can do it! Just think about that from tomorrow nothing from all this will happen again." and she took another bite, forcing herself to eat all from her plate.

“You are too good with the members of this pack!” Gal said suddenly, feeling bloated while Sarah insists on finishing all the food.

“I know and I am sorry for doing this to you, I know that I am too supportive of someone who never cared about me, but just as I said, Gal. Let’s end this and then we will live our lives , we will seek for our own happiness”

“Let’s leave this place, please” Gal whispered. “Let’s start this new life you are talking about in another place.”

“I would like to like Patrick's pack. “ Sarah said with a soft giggle. “I heard that the royal pack is so beautiful and everything there is a delight for every werewolf. “

“And he is there,” Gal whispered.

“Yes, He is there.” and she was lost in her own thoughts and desires.

“Let’s do it, Gal!” she said, taking her last bite.” Let’s end this shit and move on!”

But she suddenly felt so full from so much food .

“Don’t tell me that I didn’t tell you!” Gal started to laugh seeing her with her belly distended from eating too much.

“Let’s take a walk” Sarah said “This will help us with digestion.”

And she exited her room and went into the backyard garden, but she didn’t take even two steps when she heard someone speaking.

“Shit!” she panicked. “Mark told us not to leave our room” and she looked around and hid and as soon as those men came closer she recognized the voices as the pack doctor's voice and his assistant’s.

And her heart just stopped.

"If she takes this cure , she can't live after that .” the assistant said. “ Do we really have to do this, doctor ? We're not treating her , are we? Why to kill people when we swore to help and heal them ? Will the goddess punish us for that? " and she could feel that there was a lot of revolt into the voice of the assistant.

And tears began to moisture her eyes but she didn't let them flow, and then the doctor replied,:

"Some people may be more relaxed when they die without knowing it”

Sarah just stood there. Without saying anything. Gal was mute as well. They stayed in silence , hidden after that large bush.

She heard the doctor walking and his voice was becoming more and more distant, while he was trying to convince his assistant that this is the hierarchy. Is just like the food chain. Every creature has its place in the food chain, and the weak among it will be weeded out. This is the way the world works out.

She just stood there listening to all this nonsense.

It looks like everything is just a lie. New life? New pack? Happiness?

All those seem like some bad joke after everything she just found out. This is not the day of her liberation , this is the final end. It turned out that today is the day of her own death.

“Sarah…”Gal whispered, feeling her emotions.

“She knew that all of this will end like this” Sarah whispered to Gal.

“Who knew what?” and Gal tries to take control over Sarah, to help her cope with everything that just happened but Sarah cuts her off.

“Stop it Gal! There is no need to force yourself on me. I am fine.”

“Who knew about this, Sarah?” Gal asked and let her go.

“Mom” and she just closed her eyes remembering all her words.

“They will never let you go! They will use you again and again, because you are just like me. You must die today” and Sarah takes a deep breath “That’s what she said. She just knew that I would never escape from their hands.”

Gal just whispered in her mind but Sarah said.

“Mom dragged her to death to set her free, because she knew that they would kill us sooner or later. Now I understand. Gal. Now everything is clear”

She just went back to her room, and sat in her chair taking off a box with her mother's belongings just as she did before in the last days. She asked for those things to be given to her and surprisingly her father approved of it.

Of course he did, because he let her have them just for a few days, tomorrow he will take them back.

She caressed a necklace with a white diamond tear pendant that her mother wears almost daily, and looking at it she whispered.

“You were right mom. I am sorry for not trusting you. You were right” and she took the necklace and put it on her neck, feeling that in this way her mother will be by her side.

“You were so right…”
