Eloise' POVServano stood before me, his eyes filled with quiet contemplation as I knelt before him, my hands clenched into fists against the cold stone floor. My heart pounded in my chest, my desperation plain for him to see."Please, Uncle," I whispered, my voice barely audible. "I have never asked you for anything before, but this... this is the only thing I need from you."His brow furrowed, the lines of his face deepening as he studied me. "Eloise, stand up. You do not have to kneel before me."I shook my head. "I have to. Because if you say no, then I do not know what I will do."He sighed, his expression softening as he reached for my hands, pulling me to my feet. "Tell me why, child. Tell me why you wish for me to claim your son as mine."Tears burned at the corners of my eyes, but I refused to let them fall. "Because if anyone knew the truth... In such case, why do we have to make a strict guarding in the whole place?"He couldn't understand. Of course he won't!
