CHLOE POV
"Are you okay," I ask as Logan gets dressed for our pack's celebration of life ceremony.
He turns towards me slowly. Almost as if I pulled him from some deep thought. He nods and offers me a smile, but I can see the pent-up emotion in his eyes. He turns towards his mirror to finish tying his tie, and I sigh.
"You can talk to me, Love. I know it's been hard, but we are in this together," I say as I approach him from behind.
I wrap my arms around his waist, and he pauses. He drops his arms over mine and relaxes into my touch.
"How did you do it, Chloe? How did you handle losing your mom? You were completely alone," Logan asks in a voice barely above a whisper.
That all too familiar sting erupts in my chest, and I have to clear the emotion from my throat before I can respond.
