Chapter 6

Charles couldn't help to smile upon thinking of what he did that time.

Sam was really hard to handle. She is an elusive and independent woman. She is in charge of her own decisions and does not rely on anyone unnecessarily.

While Charles was used to being chased by women. Every woman he met always try their best to climb up his bed. But Sam was different from them. She even avoided him several times. That made him more attractive to her.

After he checked the Financial Statements and other reports, he found out that the company was operating smoothly. MY Corporation was built 9 years ago that is engaged in selling mobile phones, tablets, and laptops imported from abroad.

As time went by, it became the leading company in the industry with 50 stores across the country and 10 service centers. Over the years, gadgets turned out to be not just a luxury thing but a necessity to people's lives. Everyone needs gadgets, from students to working professionals. 

When he learned from his Uncle that he was going to sell his shares as he will soon migrate abroad, he did not think twice to grab the opportunity. He purchased the shares of his Uncle and even purchased more to own the majority shares of the company.

The day quickly passed. As Charles finished his works, he went straight to the hospital where Sam's mother was confined.

On the other hand, Sam just got the discharge papers from the nurse station. Since her mother recovered well and no other negative findings, she can just continue to rest at home.

Henry was already waiting for them since Sam's car was still in the repair shop. He volunteered to take them home. Sam agreed as she knew that it is more convenient for her mother than to take a cab.

Just when Charles arrived at the hospital lobby, he saw Sam with her mother and Henry about to exit on the other door. His expression became dark from that sight. A trace of disgust could be seen through his face. He did not dare to show up anymore.

Monday morning, Sam was able to get her car from the repair shop but she got stuck in traffic so she arrived late in the office.

"You're late. Is that how you do Ms. Wilson?" Charles asked in an obvious unpleasant tone.

"My apologies, Mr. Davidson. I got stuck in traffic after I picked up my car from the repair shop." She calmly explained.

"Whatever reason late is late. We have a lunch meeting later with a client. Be prepared." After he said that, he turned and left.

"Got it." She replied then she sat down and started working. When it was time to leave for their meeting, he saw Charles approaching her.

"Let's go. You take a ride with me." He did not give her the chance to answer. Left with no choice, she followed him and his Secretary in the hallway going to the elevator.

Their meeting will be held in Five Star Hotel. On the way, the silence was deafening. No one dared to speak at all. They arrived at the hotel after an hour.

"Greetings, Mr. Davidson!" A man stood up as soon as he saw them. He looks great in his gray suit revealing his powerful aura. He's tall and masculine with bewitching brown eyes, a tall nose, and thin lips.

He smiled at Anne and Sam as well. Sam smiled back as acknowledgment.

"Good day, Mr. Lee!" Charles shook hands with Mr. Lee, the owner of ACC Corporation, the largest call center company in the country.

Their meeting was about their proposal to ACC Corporation to avail their products and services. The said company was interested as well knowing the quality of the products they offered.

After exchanging business cards, they started the meeting.

As a Finance Manager, Sam was not surprised to be joining this kind of meeting as she was aware that negotiation like this needs her presence to make decisions right away, related to terms and manner of payment, discounts offer and the like, to close the deal as smooth as possible.

However, she felt awkward during the meeting as Mr. Lee kept staring at her. She felt more awkward under the gaze of Charles.

After 2 hours of discussion, they closed the deal. ACC Corporation will purchase at least 20,000 units of gadgets from MY Corporation. They also discussed the service agreement effective for 3 years.

"Alright, Mr. Davidson let us know when shall we visit your office for the contract signing." Mr. Lee said after shaking hands with Charles as a sign of the successful deal.

"Sure, my Secretary will contact you as soon as the contract was ready."

"Nice meeting you, Ms. Wilson." Mr. Lee turned to her and smiled.

"My pleasure, Mr. Lee." She smiled back hiding her anxious feelings.

Then, Mr. Lee left with his Secretary.

"You impressed me, Ms. Wilson. You're not just good at numbers. You're also good at flirting?" Charles said mockingly. A sound of jealousy and anger in his tone. 

'Huh?' Sam was stunned by his remarks, her face flushed red feeling annoyed. She thought he was pleased with her that they made a successful deal.

'What's the matter with this man?' She thought to herself.

She did not answer him because she knew she did nothing wrong. But it made him angrier.

Charles was upset as he noticed how Mr. Lee stared at Sam. He knew as a man that Mr. Lee was captivated by her beauty.
