Chapter 3

GOING Home, Devon and Xoyo didn’t talked to each other, instead they walked down the path back to Xoyo’s house silently. Not until Devon heard and felt something in the environment.

“ You stay beside me and don’t do something stupid.” Devon uttered.

“ huh?”

Before Devon could answered her confusion, a loud growled followed with a huge animal jumped in front of them make Xoyo screamed at the top of her lungs, and Devon instinctively protected Xoyo. Devon automatically transformed into a chocolate colored werewolf. Huge and furry , and he looks scarier too. Xoyo felt like she’s going to faint when the two werewolves fought and give each other a deadly bite and scratched.

“ Devon!” She cried when Devon was being thrown away and the huge beast is walking to her direction. Xoyo gathered all her strength and run.

Devon stood up and followed them, he howled loudly, and grabbed the creature who is about to attacked Xoyo.

He tilted his head and the creature fell down on the ground lifeless and his neck has been twisted.

Xoyo felt traumatized. And the memory of her parents being murdered flashed back, Xoyo screamed and started to act weird, she’s panicking and shouting and trying to run away, but Devon stopped her.

“ Calm down! Calm down.” Devon ordered but its no used

Xoyo kept on crying.

“ I said calm down!” Devon said angrily but Xoyo kept on screaming and she’s trying to get a way from him. Devon sighed and grabbed her waist and pulled her closer to him and locked his arms around him. With a firm decision, he landed his lips to hers and that made Xoyo froze.

And Devon felt like he was being electrified.

“ I-I’m sorry, I don’t know how to make you stopped.” He uttered.

“ I, I’m sorry too.” Xoyo said in a faint voice, she composed herself and cleared her throat when she was snapped back to reality.

“ You can leave now, my house is three meters away from here, I can managed.” Xoyo said in a low voice.

“ I’ll make  sure you arrived there safe.” Devon said.

“ I’m fine.” 

“ Then I’ll go.” Devon said and is about to leave.

“ Wait!” she called.

Devon turned to faced her again.

“ Why did that thing attacked me?” Xoyo asked.

“ No, he didn’t attacked you , he just happened to passed by and saw us.” 

“ Now what?”

“ don’t worry, he can’t tell his friends anymore, he is already dead.” 

“ Thank you.” Xoyo said shyly and run away , Xoyo went home and saw her grandfather slept on the sofa, got tired of waiting for her. Xoyo sighed and felt bad about it.

IN BENTWOOD COLLEGE EXTENSION, the principal named Harris twirled his swivel chair and faced the person who just entered the room. The man is wearing a black  coat and a sun glasses, he had his hands in his pocket, and sat down on the vacant seat.

“ I am spying in the premises of bentwood main, however, there’s this student who kept going in my way, I didn’t see her before but she’s something-“

“ Tell me about that Devon McKnight, I am more interested in him than anyone else.” The principal said in a serious tone. 

“ Devon?  We fought when we crossed path again, he came to saved that girl when I was about to attacked her.” 

“ Why’d you do that?” the principal asked.

“ Devon is our only target.” The principal added.

“ She is a student of Bentwood main, she’s still consider as a our enemy.” The student spoke in a controlled snarl.

“ McKnight , the purebred werewolves, they are the most dominant and undefeatable clan here in Bentwood, so I am expecting you to put your focused on how we can weakened their clan and kill them all,  if you fail, we won’t be able to enjoy the feeling of being the king in this place.” The principal said seriously and the student in front of him just made a poker face.

“ do we really have to fight just for the title?” he asked.

“ Its not just a title. For me ,it’s a dream come true.” The principal asked.

“ I’ll take my leave now sire, if ever things got rough, I will call for a reinforcement.” He said and left the office. The guy walked down the hall to the path to his dormitory.

The Principal stayed in his office for awhile and looked at the picture frame on his table, it’s a picture of two little boys who went fishing.

“ I’ll be stronger and dangerous than ever , and I’ll take your place ,old friend.” He mumbled.

SYNTAX QUARTER,

“ Where’d you get that scratches Devon?” Jacob asked while they helped him treat his little wounds.

They’re currently at the little living room, having their night bonding. Victoria checked his wounds while Luna made a juice from a special herbs.

“  Someone attacked me and the transferee when I was about to send her home.” Devon answered.

“ Really? How’s Xoyo?” Victoria asked.

“ She’s fine, she got a little trauma, but she managed to calmed down.” Devon answered and when he remembered how he let Xoyo calmed down, Devon blushed and felt a little awkward.

“ Excuse me, I’ll be heading to my room.” Devon excused himself and left.

“ What’s wrong with him? Did I just saw him turned red?” Luna asked and raised an eyebrow while looking at Devon’s room.

Jacob chuckled.

“ He might be seriously hurt.” Victoria uttered .

“ Its possible that he might act strange, our enemy is a werewolves-sorcerers. They practiced witchcrafts.” Victoria added.

“ Do you really think that Devon would be easily affected with that crafty works? It would take fifty exposure of wolf banes, before his body weakens.” Jacob chuckled.

Luna sighed, Jacob had a point. 

“ Then what’s with his weird actions?” Luna asked.

“ We  haven’t finished treating his wounds and he just walked -out and went into his room?” Luna added, she thought of sneaking in, but Victoria stopped her.

“ Oh don’t, we know where we’ll end up  if we let the Alpha gets angry.” Victoria said in a small voice.

“ I’m curious” Luna whispered 

“ Does it have something to do with Xoyo?” Victoria asked  suddenly.

“ Xoyo?” Everyone asked in Unison. And Victoria made a face.

“ Just an accusation” Victoria giggled.

“ What’s your stand? We don’t accused people without valid evidence, and Xoyo? She’s just an ordinary person just like our morning teachers.” Luna spoke.

“ Well, she’s pretty though, and she’s the only one whose with Devon. Oh my gosh! What if she’s a spy?” Victoria instantly panic when she thought that Xoyo is a member of the enemies , Vendetta.

“ A spy?” 

“ Uh-huh, Vendetta are smart too, they would send someone here to report all the stuffs happening here and put Devon in a trap, we are all aware that Devon is the last Purebred, and an heir of the royals.” Victoria explained. Luna thought for awhile.

“ You’ve got a point there, so I will let you observed and investigate Xoyo silently. And  If you think she’s different, you gather strong evidences that will pushed her to the dungeon and be punished forever.” Luna said seriously and Jacob and Victoria nodded .

“ Let’s go to bed, I’m tired now.” Victoria spoke and run to her room. She jumped into her bed and fell asleep immediately.

“ O-Okay.”

On the next morning, Xoyo walked early and fixed herself to go to school early. She made a shortcut to the other path to get in there immediately.

When she arrived at the school, her classmate and the Syntax are already there.

“ Hi Xoyo.” Victoria greeted her.

“ Good morning Victoria.”  Xoyo smiled.

“ I heard that you and Devon were attacked yesterday, are you okay?” Luna butted in.

“ Yeah, but I’m fine. How about Devon? Is he alright?” Xoyo asked.

“ Don’t worry, Devon won’t get easily killed.” Jacob chuckled.

“ really? Is he some sort of immortal?” Xoyo asked.

“ Very funny.” Luna rolled her eyes.

Their chitchat ended when their teachers went inside.

“ Hey there everyone, Remember me? I’m your Teacher Jenny of your P.E 1.” The teacher introduced herself.

Though she looks a little bit old, but her body is perfectly taken care of. The teacher is physically fit and has a good curved.

“ For today, we will have an ability test, that’s why we will have to do the long run and checked your speed.” 

“ That’s cool, shall we start?” The Leader of the other group asked.

“ Of course, but first we will head down to the field.” The teacher smiled.

“ Let’s go.”

Walking Down the field , Xoyo is frowning, it would be unfair for her since she’s just an ordinary lady, she sure would end up to have a lowest score in speed test.

“ Your frowning, something’s bothering?” Luna asked.

“ Well, do I really need to join?” she asked.

“ Of course, your one of the students here.” Luna answered.

“ Fine then.”

In the field ,there’s a public rest room on the other side, the students lined up there to get changed into their P.E attire.

Devon McKnight who is already in his P.E uniform stands next to the teacher and is currently warming up himself for the long run.

“ 10 minutes warm up everyone.” The teacher announced and everyone do their stretching.

“ It’s not a contest, so don’t pressure yourself to much, just enjoy what your doing and you’ll be fine. No need to reached for a top score but the higher the better.” The teacher smiled and winked.

While in the woody side of Bentwood College Main, three Rogues where sneaking and watching over them.

“ They’re enjoying their morning class. Did we even had that kind of class during our morning classes?” the man asked.

“ Oh shut up! Were not here for that, we are here for Devon McKnight.”  The man said and glared at his friend.
