Havermouth, Five Years Before

Rhett leaned against the wall between the transportable classrooms.

As was typical of the season, it had started off rainy that morning, but the sun had come out in the afternoon, creating a steam as it evaporated the puddles off the pavement, and lifting with it the scent of minerals and earth, creating an intoxicating vapor that the wolf within him enjoyed and recognized as the beginning of Spring – breeding season – making him feel a little wild and restless. And f-king horny.

His art class fell during a double free for Cameron and Heath, so they usually left during lunch to buy beer and took it to the park between school and Heath’s house. By the time Rhett finished the day, they would be half tanked and working on a tan in the park whilst they waited for him.

Without Heath and Cameron present, Rohan and his cronies made it blatantly obvious that they considered Rhett a fringe dweller and wanted nothing to do with him unless he was with Heath and Came

I hate they way they treat "" humans"" and the way they think is like a big lie of living because there mate female is also going to be treated that way no matter what they say about respect. that taint will stay in their ways of treatment it's habit. the parents are just as bad with their greed

I agree. It makes me feel like she is way too forgiving and absolutely too quickly. In many ways the back and forth shows how much they haven’t changed, even though I think we are supposed to believe they have. They are still manipulative with sex and don’t ask actually seek her input.

It's hard for me to read this book with the flashbacks. The wolves were absolute jerks and just when I start to like them, I'm reminded just how terrible they were to her and I think she should just say "f you" and live a long, happy life with Talen. Now HE knows how to treat a woman.
