I learned that the man's name is Mika and that girl's name is Michelle, his twin sister. She played basketball in college and he clearly did not.

"You need to change your stance and jump. Your feet need to be a little wider apart. Your shooting hand should go above your head and a lot higher than your non-shooting hand. When you throw it to the hoop you need to snap your wrist, lining it up with the hoop and aiming for one of the top corners to bounce it in or for the ball to start to defend before it reaches the back board for a straight shot. If it hits the back right above the hoop it is going to bounce off like it has been doing." I was trying to explain but it sounded more like I was barking orders.

"That's a lot of information all at once l." He replied. I could see the stress behind his eyes.

"Okay let's take it step by step. I'll demonstrate and then fix your stance as you try it."

So we started practicing. Slowly he started to get the stance down. The aim, not so much. Mika would need a lot more practice.

When correcting his stance, I got a much closer inspection of his smell, cinnamon and coffee, but under that there was the smell of animal. Not shifter strong, but definitely wild animals, not farm animals.

Mika didn't seem like a big talker, he didn't over share, probably because I was a stranger at this point. He could just not like me though, I couldn't be sure yet.

"I think that's enough for today, you look beat." I said with a grimace

"I am." He huffed before chugging some water. "You must be in way better shape than me if running the court didn't even break a sweat for you."

I shrugged, "You just need more practice."

"You free tomorrow about the same time? Me and the guys don't play tomorrow so it would give us more time to practice", he said almost nervously.

I inspected him closely, he seemed to genuinely want my help. And I hadn't met any other interesting men. "Yeah I'm free. We'll pick up where we left of. You really need more practice shooting while in motion.

"Thanks?" he said unsure.

"Same time tomorrow." I said walking back to my book and bag that was laying on the small bleachers.

I inconspicuously watched as Mika changed his shirt. For someone who was terrible at sports he had nice abs. Watching him caused a little tightness in my belly. I didn't realize I was full on staring until I caught eyes with him shyly waving goodbye. I smiled, embarrassed, and waved back.

I tracked Mika as he walked across the grass, in the opposite direction from the entrance to the park, and went into the woods instead. I was confused. There was no trail there. Where in the world was he going. I don't know what but I followed him, my curiosity getting the better of me. It probably wasn't smart for a woman to follow a man she doesn't know into the woods but I'm a shifter. How could he possibly hurt me?....

"She and my grandson are getting married so she moved out here to the rescue with him," Grams blabbed, I didn't correct her that we weren't engaged. She insisted that he would though. "Oh, well it's great to see you," Paige said, smiling. "What are you doing out this far?" I asked. "I live out here with my parents, a couple doors down from Ann actually. I drive to the city for work, not many jobs around here. But the city is also too expensive for me to live in, so I drive back here. Hey did you finish that book?" Wow Paige was a talker, surprisingly I didn't mind. "Yeah I really enjoyed it. Sorry I didn't make it back to discuss it with you." Paige looked around the shop, "Well do you have time now?" "Of course she does, it's a ghost town in here," Grams shooed me from behind the counter, "You need to get off your feet anyhow." It was then that Paige saw my large baby bump and she squealed, "A baby! You're having a baby?" "Twins actually," I smiled

  • The Pairing   Amora POV Grand Opening

We discussed it and Mika brought me back to my senses, "If the Goddess gave us a son, why would she take him away before he's even had a chance to betray her? We just need to raise a good man so he never gives her a reason to take him." "Easier said than done Mika. Kids make mistakes. We can't stop everything." I argued. "I don't think it would be over something small. He'd have to have a harem of women or be a mass murderer." I rolled my eyes. Mika was being ridiculous but he was probably right. Maybe our son was safe. I wish I could ask Ryxarra's guidance on this. Maybe she could tell me what the Goddess had planned for my babies. I miss my pack, not just Kya and Riley. Pack life was so easy and made sense, way more than human society did. I love my new little family, I really do, I was just used to a much bigger family. Maybe I need more people to feel at home in this life. I should try making new friends to expand my 'pack'. But how would I do that? I was just

  • The Pairing   Amora POV Twins

~3 months later It had finally come time for the twins anatomy scan. Keska was sure they were healthy but Mika was a worry wart and insisted we humor him. I didn't think their ultrasound would be any different than a human baby's, so nothing to worry about, right? Of course Michelle came with us, she had to be there to see who was right. She held her excitement in pretty well when the doctor came in. He asked a few simple questions about how I was feeling and the nausea was mostly gone so I was doing really good comparatively. "So what are we thinking they will be?" The doctor asked as he started the scan "She says both girls, I say at least one is a boy." Michelle answered. "Well I think you'll both be pleased." He chuckled. On the screen he pointed out that baby A had boy parts and baby B had none. This was more shocking than finding out there were twins in the first place. The next thing I knew Mika had rushed the doctor and Michelle out of the room. He

  • The Pairing   Amora POV :Our Home

....I bit my lip, I wanted to make him feel good too, but I didn't know exactly what to do. I reached for it but Mika stopped me by grabbing my hands in both of his. "Tonight is all about you", he said. Then he pulled me to my feet and led me off the steps and to his bedroom. I was pretty sure I knew what he wanted so I crawled on the bed, laying down on my back. Mika immediately crawled over top of me but now his pants and boxers were gone. I really wanted to touch him, to know what it felt like and see if my touch felt good to him like his did to me. Mika must have known what I desired because he took my hand and guided it to his cock, squeezing my hand around it, showing me how to stroke it. I must have done something right because a breathy sigh escaped his lips and he tilted his head back. I could see the pleasure on his face, which was satisfying and gave me confidence that I knew what I was doing. The tip looked soft, I wondered what it felt like, if touching it would als

  • The Pairing   Amora POV: Moving?

We caught our breath and were soon up off the floor getting showers. Mika said I could go first and use all the hot water I wanted. He said he could use a cold shower after all that. I wasn't about to argue, I'll take it. I decided to walk the property while Mika showered since the rain had stopped. The animals started to come out of their shelters, curious about the newcomer. I wish I had someone to talk to that understood how I felt about Mika and my life in the pack; who could give me advice. Even if I did, would I listen to their advice if it wasn't what I wanted to hear? This was all just so hard, Mika has flipped my world upside down. Mika found me after I'd made my way around and came back to the porch steps. I had been thinking about what to do, considering telling him everything so he could reject me and make the decision for me. I stood up so he wouldn't be towering over me as much. But before I could get a word out, Mika spoke first. "Hey so this is important", he sta

  • The Pairing   Amora POV: The Chase/ Kya POV

Mika was nowhere near as fast as me so I slowed down to keep the chase interesting. I dodged through the trees, having him hot on my trail. I let him get really close a few times, I could hear him swipe through the air but I was just out of reach. I made it to the rescue. I'd let him catch me soon but not yet. The animals were watching us running through the cages like mad, sliding in the mud. They must have thought we were crazy. I made it to the front yard but right before the porch I slid in a patch of mud that I hadn't seen in my hurry. I fell in it, scrambled up, stumbled up the porch steps and reached for the door knob. But it was too late. Mika had caught up. He grabbed me and swung me around, making me laugh hysterically. He turned the knob and kicked the door open, dragging me inside and tickling me. I was embarrassingly squealing with laughter. I don't think I've ever laughed so hard. Mika slid on all the water and mud dripping from our clothes and we immediately went
