Alexander POV
(One Year Later)
I stood in front of the glass wall in my office with my tie loosened around my neck and a glass of scotch in my hand. My eyes almost dropping due to the exhaustion while I deny the luxury of rest to my body. I was mindlessly looking over the city that is covered in yellow lights to illuminate the place.
I heard the click of the door but didn’t bother to look back. “You need to come with me to the packhouse, it’s been two weeks since the last time you visited the packhouse. Pack members are growing worried about you.” I heard my Beta, Lucas, speak with frustration lacing his words.
“You can tell them, I’m alright. I don’t think I have time to be there today.” I told him in an emotionless voice.
“Uncle Zane is worried for you, Alex. You can’t just keep doing this to yourself.” He muttered in a soft voice which was very unlikely of him.
