CHAPTER ONE
Hey Mila..", a man tapped her by the side of her shoulders, dragging her towards him, holding her by her shoulders while she stared into his eyes."Father! What's happening?"She asked the man who stood before her, his eyes being Satin gray. She had sweat drops beaded on her face, panting for breath just as he was. The night was extremely quiet, yet the sound of her voice which she had toned down still echoed through the surrounding, just like her father's.Her father was uneasy, having sweat drops roll down his face like a waterfall. He looked around, back and forth, to his left and his right, his eyes rattling thoughts' sockets as he tried to ensure the entire environment was safe. His daughter's hands were shaky, and he could hear the sound of a nervous heartbeat, throbbing against her chest as though it would break out of its cage unto her hands. They stood to be the only ones present in an environment as dull as ditchwater, the only ones who stood outside in the dead of the night

CHAPTER TWO
The werewolf came, its feet hitting the ground mercilessly as its hands joined in its movement. It broke out from the woods, tearing off the leaves of the trees with less effort, and growling at the sight of the man.“You can't take anyone from my family.!” Mark grinned as he shifted under the bright moonlight. His bones cracked, and his skin stretched beyond its limits, tearing to become as tough as that of a wolf.He growled at the phantom, just as the phantom growled at him. Like two behemoths, they collided, and the green grasses on the ground fell victim to their battle.Mark rushed after the phantom, his feet, and his hands aiding his movement, while his fangs were exposed toward the other. He tore the phantom with his claws, causing the other to stagger, while he still had his large shoulders to push the phantom to the ground. He growled at its face, showing off his strength. His pride was subdued by the counterattack of the phantom when the phantom arose from the ground and sp

CHAPTER THREE
She watched as the phantom threw her mother's body on the ground, and there wasn't any response from the other as she fell to the ground and didn't move a muscle. The world ceased to exist in Mila's mind, and everywhere was void of sound and life. Her eyes never left her mother's body, which lay lifeless at a far end, and the growling sound of the beast was like an echo in her ears. It happened slowly in her mind. She stood from the ground, looking with tears at her mother. She felt the vibration that came with the beast's movement on the ground. She felt the winds brush against her face, the coldness of her mother's death sickening her deeper than that of the winds. The beast rushed towards her. It seemed it wasn't enough for the night. It leaped in the air but growled loudly as something pierced through its legs.Mark happened to be behind, and he was faster at that moment than the phantom. His claws had penetrated the beast's legs, dragging him before he could land an attack on Mi

CHAPTER FOUR
There was an absolute silence, something deeper than what he had ever felt. Mark couldn't tell if it was just within him or if the environment had also adapted to the emptiness that he felt within. The movement of the winds had caused his ears to tingle, and the smooth feel of his skin had sent impulses down his body, causing the loneliness within him to increase. There and then he remembered her, the main essence of his existence. He remembered the moments when she would shiver and quiver at the sense of the cold winds. He remembered her smile anytime he would walk up to her and wrap his hands around her. He remembered the way he cuddled her like a stuffed toy and make her feel warm with an ordinary clothing material could never offer.“This is a lot better!” Her words echoed in his ears, and it seemed as though he had transitioned to the past, where he could watch the moment between them both.“You enjoy this?” He asked as he buried his face down her neck and kissed it playfully, ca

CHAPTER FIVE
She separated herself from her father, wiping off the remnant of the tears which still rolled down her eyes. She sniffled her nostrils as her eyes rattled through its sockets, searching for something which would be of comfort for a seat. The darkness had enveloped the landscape, leaving the full moon as the only point source of light and illumination. She searched around, with little traces of fear being depicted in her movement. She shivered at the rapid sound of dry leaves being moved on the ground. His heart rate increased speedily, accompanied by heavy breathing, huffing, and puffing as though she was engaged in something rigorous. The Phantom had left a footprint of fear within, coupled with the wild thoughts which filled her head. They came like little trances, like short clips of what had happened and how the phantom had growled loudly at her.The thoughts alone made an impact on how her physical body was positioned, causing her to trip to the ground and land her bottom on a h

CHAPTER SIX
"Mila..." He groaned. She was more than being persuasive, reasoning, and being so inquisitive to the extent it somehow blocked her senses of reasoning. He tried explaining, but it seemed as though the young lady wouldn't take a negation for an answer. He heaved a heavy sigh before he continued, "Mila, you know you don't have the skills for that".Yet the more he tried explaining to the younger one, the more she countered with more questions and more of her facts. Her stubbornness began the moment she refused to hide from something as powerful as the phantom, especially for a person who knew what it entailed. He couldn't still place his hands on what had fueled the courage to face the beast alongside him. Her statement at that moment had shown she had considered family more than anything, yet she forgot she was meant to be thought of first by her parents rather than the other way around. "But you have those skills..." Mila intercepted. Her words interrupted his train of thought, and

CHAPTER SEVEN
"Can you stand?” Her father asked her while he held her left hand in his right hand. He could hear the slight grunt she made, watching as her face became squeezed in her struggle to get on her feet.“Yes, I can,” she replied immediately. She closed her eyes and heaved a heavy sigh before she made another attempt. Her next attempt was worse than her initial. Her heels were already swollen, though she never thought of having them closer to it. She pressed the already blistered heels to the ground, letting the hidden pain become even more conspicuous. She was on one foot, the left to be more precise, while the right foot was that which was swollen. She let out a loud grunt as soon as the spot on her hand touched the hard ground with much more force.“Ugh! Mila” he heaved a heavy sigh with his eyes closed, and his head lifted to the sky while he shook disappointingly at her confidence. ,Still, he never chose to let go of her hand. His right hand had a firm grip on her left hand just as
