Chapter 21
Richard went back to his room and lied on his bed. He couldn’t stop thinking about what happened. It was obviously clear to him that Rebecca really loved him. But then, she was more like a desire he can’t have. He never really understood what love is till he met her. Despite how he valued his education, he scarified his continuous assessment just because he was dying to see her face. And what worries him most is the fact that he doesn’t have anybody to share his story to not even Paul.
It was an emotion deep inside him inside that he wished he could tell someone. He lied there on his bed not feeling hungry despite is noon. Suddenly, Paul walked into his room and found him lying on the bed.
“Why didn’t you write the test?” Paul asked as he walked to him.
“Because I didn’t want to,” Richard replied.
“I thought I used to be the crazy one, but you have now proven yourself,” Paul said.

Richard went to his dormitory and discovered that it had run out of power. Even though he had not eaten since in the afternoon, he wasn't on his right mind to feel hungry. He walked into his room and lied on the bed alone in the dark. He kept thinking about what happened and how he set everything back into order. He lied in the room for than three hours until he finally got himself together to have something to eat. Due to the fact that he was so hungry, he decided to one of the restaurants close to the dormitory and eat even though he didn't like their foods. He changed into a white long robe and walked out of his room. He walked for some minutes before arriving at the restaurant. As soon as he sat down, he received a call from Paul. In the night around 8 pm, Richard gathered all his clothes and put them in his travelling bag. He hurriedly walked out of the room so that his roommates won't meet him. He walked to a cab close to his dormitory and boarded it. "Where should I take you?" The can driver asked after he started the engine of the car. Richard remained quiet for a moment, because he hadn't come up with a place to go. "Excuse Mister, are you with me?" The cab driver asked noticing Richard's silence. "Just take me to the bus station," Richard uttered at last.The driver drove out of the the campus, and soon, they were driving on the highway. As the car was moving, Richard thought about Janet and the night they got into trouble at the club. He remembered how she happily talked to him and the love she showed him. Throughout their journey in the night, Richard couldn't sleep. He kept thinking about Janet and regretted everything he had done. "How is he doing?" Asked deep male voice. "He is doing better," replied another female voice. "You should inform me when he wakes up," the man instructed. "Alright sir," replied the woman. Richard heard the footsteps of the man walking away. He thought everything was a dream. His eyes were heavier than ever. But at last, he finally opened them. He found himself lying on a small sick bed with an intravenous drip attached to his hand. He felt the intensity of the pain in his lower right abdomen that he couldn't even move properly.He looked around and he discovered that he was in a hospital. It was a huge hall with over 50 sick beds arranged in rows. It was so crowded with people most of which they come to visit the sick people. About a week later, Richard was finally getting discharge from the hospital. He woke up the next morning think about how he could persuade the women on staying. They told him the night before that they would take him back to his family. He woke up early in the morning and sat on his sick. There wasn't any Sign of sleep in his eyes.He looked at the beside him and saw little boy lying on it. His mother had been sitting beside him for the whole without any sleep. About 2 months later, Richard has gotten much better and Mama Ruth had worked really hard to get him a work in a poultry farm a cleaner. He usually sleeps with the eldest son of the family and one of the twins in the living room. The eldest usually comes home very late at night after everyone had slept. He usually carries a weapon with him. For that reason, Richard was scared of talking to him. Around 5 am, Richard was waked by Ruth's mother as usually. She also wakes Ruth and her two twin brothers, while the rest of family were left sleeping. It had been five years since Richard left home. Things were working out for him so well in the poultry farm. The owner of the poultry farm trusted Richard so much that she put him to be in charge of supplying food. Somehow, she new Richard was different all the workers she had employed before. She had tested his honesty several time times, but he proved to her that he worth it.But what confused her most about Richard was the fact that he doesn't get involved in any social activity.
