LOGINNora 's POV
Never in my life did I think I would wake up to the realization that someone had thrown me off a six-story building… and I was still somehow alive. Sharp pain slammed into me the moment I opened my eyes, and I winced instantly, squeezing them shut again. “Okay… nope,” I whispered weakly. “This is not a normal headache.” When I finally forced my eyes open again, the room came into focus. My brows pulled together. Where the hell am I? I tried to sit up and immediately regretted it. My head throbbed violently, sending a sharp wave of pain through my skull, and I hissed softly before collapsing back onto the pillow. “…Is anyone here?” I croaked, my voice barely cooperating. The door flew open like whoever was outside had been waiting for my dramatic return to consciousness. A guy rushed in. Blonde hair, slightly messy and tattoos crawling up his arms, completely shirtless. He was clearly younger than me…couldn't be older than twenty five” And I had never… not once in my thirty eight years on this earth looked at a younger man and felt anything other than indifference. So I could not explain what was happening to me right now. He was annoyingly, offensively… hot. I was literally just waking up from the dead and I know this is the worst thing to think right now but… I was fucking horny just by the mere sight of this stranger. He stopped dead the moment he saw me awake. “Oh my God,” he said, almost laughing in relief. “You’re finally awake.” I immediately pushed myself back on the bed, wincing. “Who are you?” I snapped. “And why do you look like a rejected biker gang leader?” He blinked. Then smiled like I was the funny one here. “Wow,” he said, dragging a chair closer. “Okay. You’re alive and already disrespectful. I like that.” “I don’t care what you like,” I shot back. “What am I doing here? How did I get here? And who the hell are you?” He raised both hands slightly. “Slow down. Too many questions.” “Answer them,” I said through clenched teeth. He exhaled and leaned back in the chair. “Fine,” he said. “I saved your life.” I stared at him. “You apparently tried to commit suicide. Fell off a building. I found you, rushed you to the hospital, and you’ve been in a coma for three weeks.” I blinked slowly. “…I’m sorry, what?” I shook my head immediately. “No,” I said firmly. “That’s not what happened.” He tilted his head slightly. I swallowed, my throat suddenly tight. “My husband pushed me,” I said slowly, each word heavier than the last. “Off a balcony, because of his mistress, my best friend” His smile faded a little at that.. “That’s not what he told the press,” he said calmly, leaning back in the chair like he had nowhere urgent to be. “And it’s a little weird you’re still calling him your husband.” I frowned instantly. “What are you talking about?” My voice came out sharper now, panic threading through it. “He tried to kill me” The guy raised a brow. “He’s married,” he corrected simply. “And currently on his honeymoon with his wife.” My whole body went cold. “What?” I whispered. A hollow laugh escaped me, sounding broken even to my own ears. “He left me to die,” I whispered, anger cracking through my shock. “He betrayed me after five years of marriage… a sexless marriage… no child… nothing to show for all my IVF treatments.” My hands started shaking. “My father is going to kill me,” I added, almost to myself now. “I’m going to lose everything…” The guy frowned slightly. “Okay, you’re not making sense,” he said. “I’ve been living a fake life,” I said bitterly. “All of it. Because I was trying to build the perfect marriage… the perfect man… so I could take over my father’s empire.” My laugh broke halfway. “And he gave me a five-year ultimatum,” I continued, voice cracking now. “A husband or I lose everything.” “Typical Gerald Lennox , he doesn't ever change” My head snapped up. “What did you just say?” I pushed myself further up, ignoring the pain flaring through my skull.. “How do you know my father?” I demanded. “Who are you?” “I know everything about you Genevieve Lennox ” Every nerve in my body went on high alert How does he know that? My eyes darted to the side table. The vase was right there enough to do damage. I grabbed it immediately and pointed it at him with both hands. “I know what you are,” I warned. “You’re a kidnapper. You want money? Fine. Let me go right now, and I’ll make sure my father doesn’t come after you.” He stared at me and burst into laughter. “And you think a kidnapper has the patience to nurse a dying woman back to life?” “Everyone knows my father…but nobody knows me,” I snapped. “I grew up in isolation because of my illness. I was supposed to make my first public appearance this year as CEO. So how the fuck do you know who I am?” A slow smirk spread across his face. "I'll tell you everything," he said, leaning back in his chair, "but first I want to make you an offer." I stared at him and let out a short, disbelieving laugh because the audacity was almost impressive. "Are you insane? I don’t even know who you are. What makes you think I’d accept any offer from you?" "Because you're in deep shit right now and I'm the only one who can help you," he said simply. My brows tightened. "Oh really?" "The man who tried to kill you is alive, free, and currently living as though you never existed. Don’t you want him to pay for what he did to you?" That landed harder than I wanted it to, for a moment I was silent, then I straightened slightly, forcing my voice to stay cold. "If you have no intention of telling me who you are, then forget your offer." He studied me for a long moment before leaning back in his chair again, crossing his arms. "Fine," he said at last. "Since you're so interested," he continued, his gaze locked on mine, "I'll introduce myself properly." "My name is Norman Walter, CEO of Monarch Technology”Norman’s POVGenevieve's words stayed with me long after she stopped speaking. It's time we stop running from Dennis.I had heard those words before in different forms, from lawyers, investigators, even from my own thoughts when I was angry enough to believe I could finally confront the past. But hearing them from Genevieve was different. She wasn't asking me to be fearless. She wasn't pretending Dennis couldn't hurt me.She simply wasn't willing to let fear decide what happened to the rest of my life.I stared at our joined hands and slowly rubbed my thumb over her knuckles. The truth was, exposing Dennis terrified me.Not because I was afraid of what he could say about the Mafia, the streets, the drugs, the guns, or the things I had done before I became the man Genevieve knew today. Those things were ugly, but they were mine.I had already confessed them. What terrified me was that Dennis knew exactly where to hurt me.He knew which memories I couldn't explain. He knew which questio
Genevieve’s POVI barely slept.Even after the doctors assured me that Norman was stable and no longer in immediate danger, I couldn't bring myself to leave his side. I remained in the chair beside his hospital bed, my fingers wrapped around his hand as I watched him sleep. There was a bandage around his head, a few bruises across his face, and an IV attached to his arm. Every now and then, the machines beside him made a soft sound, reminding me that he was still here.Alive.That was all I cared about.Patricia had tried everything to convince me to go home and rest. Marissa had joined her, reminding me that I had my own surgery coming up and that exhausting myself wasn't going to help anyone.I ignored both of them.“How am I supposed to rest when my husband almost died yesterday?” I asked Patricia when she tried again that morning.“You're not his doctor, Genevieve.”“I know.”“You're not going to make him recover faster by sitting here looking like you haven't slept in three days.
Dennis’s POVI had known Nadia was lying the moment she called Jason a plumber. There was something about the way she said it that made the explanation even more ridiculous. A plumber who happened to be shirtless inside her private suite at a luxury resort in Connecticut. A plumber who looked at me with the confidence of a man who had absolutely no fear of being caught. A plumber who knew Nadia well enough to speak to her like they shared something I wasn't supposed to know.I had wanted to believe her.Or perhaps I had simply wanted to postpone accepting the truth. That was why I had ordered my investigator to find out everything about Jason Brooks the moment I returned to New York. Now, several days later, I sat behind my desk with the man's entire life spread across the table in front of me.Jason Brooks wasn't a plumber. He wasn't some random man Nadia had met at the resort. He was her lover.I stared at the photographs for several seconds, feeling something cold settle in my ches
Nadia's POVFor the past two hours, I had been trying to seduce Jason to sleep with me, and for the past two hours, he had stubbornly refused.I was beginning to lose my patience.I sat beside him on the couch, glaring at him as he stared blankly at the television without paying the slightest attention to what was playing."Jason, I'm tired of asking."He didn't even look at me."I'm not in the mood, Nadia."I scoffed."You've been saying that for two hours.""And I'll keep saying it because it's the truth."I stared at him in disbelief."You have no right to refuse me."That finally made him turn toward me.His expression was so different from the Jason I was used to that I almost didn't recognize him."I have no right to refuse you?""Yes."He laughed bitterly."But you have the right to fucking give my child to another man?"I froze.Jason stood up."You know what, Nadia? I'm sick and tired of your manipulative attitude. You boss me around and control me like I'm a child, and becau
Norman's POV " No, baby. This isn't the right time." Genevieve shook her head immediately, her fingers still wrapped around mine. "You're still recovering, Norman. You have a severe head injury, and the doctor said you need to rest. Whatever you want to tell me, you can tell me when you're feeling better." I stared at her for several seconds. Part of me wanted to agree. Part of me wanted to close my eyes, pretend none of this had happened and wait until I found the courage to tell her everything. But I knew there would never be a right time. There would always be another excuse. Another crisis. Another reason to postpone the truth. And I had already spent too many years running from it. "There is never going to be a right time, Genevieve." She frowned. "Norman—" "No, baby. Please let me do this." I squeezed her hand. "I need to tell you because I'm tired of being afraid. I have spent years running from my past, hiding behind my company, my money and the man I became. I
Genevieve's POV"Where's my husband?"My voice echoed through the hospital corridor as I rushed through the entrance with Patricia and Marissa running behind me.My heart was pounding so hard that I could barely breathe. The moment Marissa had called and told me Norman had been involved in an accident, I had felt like the entire world had stopped moving.I hadn't even taken time to think.I had simply grabbed my things and rushed to the hospital."Where is Norman Adams?" I demanded as I reached the reception desk. The receptionist looked startled by my appearance, but I barely noticed. I slammed my palm against the counter."I want to see my husband. Norman Adams. He was brought here after an accident."The receptionist quickly checked the computer."Ma'am, please calm down. Mr. Adams is currently in—""I don't want to calm down. I want to see my husband!"Patricia placed a hand on my shoulder."Genny, breathe. We'll find him."The receptionist quickly gave us the room details, and I
Nora 's POV For a second, I just stared at him, then I laughed not because it was funny, but because it had to be a lie.“Stop playing,” I said sharply. “There is no way you’re a CEO of Monarch Technology”His brow lifted.“That company is worth trillions,” I continued, my voice rising slightly. “
Nora 's POV Dennis didn’t even wait for me to process what was happening.“You heard her,” he said flatly, his voice leaving no room for argument. “Go do it.”I stood there frozen, staring at him, waiting for even a flicker of hesitation, but there was nothing.Nadia leaned into him dramatically,
Nora 's POV “No,” I said, wiping at my tears with trembling fingers. “No… this is insane.”An hysterical laugh burst out of me, tears rolling down my cheeks as I shook my head.“This is a prank, right?” I looked from Dennis to Nadia, desperately searching their faces.I swallowed hard, my chest r
