Chapter 6- Butterflies

The full moon, illuminious above the ocean was gorgeous in the eyes of Dohana. She kept her eyes on it, her face joyous despite the breeze of the ocean striking against it.

Jake marvelled at the way her coloured long dress tightened around her sculptured figure.

"What's a princess like you doing in a dump like this?"

'Who could that be? Who could this stranger with a deep voice be?'

Dohana turned her head slightly to her left as the man stood by her, fixated his eyes on the moon. Dohana stared at him. He was tall and handsome, she thought.

"Princess?" Dohana voiced out, concern written all over her face. "I'm no princess. What gave you that idea?"

Jake looked at her, giving her a subtle smile. She was gorgeous, with her braided and curly flowing hairstyle. Her midnight black hair was flowing down over her shoulders.

"Well, if a certain kingdom needs a princess. I'd be glad to recommend you, cause you are one beautiful woman."

A smirtle emmited from Dohana as she was pleased. The young man was not only good looking, but had a sweet tongue too. She stared at his rosy lips as he spoke, and every word he said sounded like sweet melodies to her ears. His slanted green eyes when he looked at her, warmed her heart.

When he noticed her subtle smile, he looked into her blue eyes which exuded a form of calmness and mystery. She had lilac soft strawberry sweet lips, a kind Jake had never kissed. It was when her crescent shaped eyebrows curved down on her sweeping eye lashes that Jake realised her inquisitive look, perhaps he had been lost in her eyes for too long.

"Don't tell me you like the full moon?" Jake said.

"Oh! I love it," she said passionately  grinning and looking up at the moon. "I love astronomy. Sometimes I wished I could have sturdied towards that field and made it my profession."

"Interesting," said Jake, "I've never met a woman who's interested in extraordinary professions like astronomy." Jake returned a smile.

"Oh! Well, I guess you haven't met all the women." She glanced back at him as he glared at the moon. "What about you? What brings you out to watch the moon instead of partying and mingling with the beautiful women inside?"

A wry smile exerted from Jake before he replied, "I don't know. I feel like I don't belong. None of the women here are my type," Jake said before he looked at her. "Until I met you."

Dohana's face flushed red, blushing as she faced the ground. Butterflies building in her stomach.

Jake's heart was taken by her geniunely shy expression. 'I must admit, this girl is gorgeous,' he thought. 'Look how cute she is when she's shy.'

Jake felt like he could hug her immediately, his heart beating erratically.

"Crazy isn't it? I felt the exact same way," she said looking into his eyes.

"My name's Jake Larson, you can call me Jake," said Jake extending his hand.

She reached out shook it, then said, "Christine Dohana, you can call me Dohana."

'Beautiful, even her name is different.'

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Miss Dohana," Jake said kissing her hand like a gentleman.

Dohana face flushed, she had never been kissed like that, not even for a greeting. "Likewise," she managed to say.

"So, I think I've seen enough of the moon for one night," Jake said smiling.

Dohana giggled and said, "you're right, we should maybe go-"

"Get some drinks," Jake nervously interrupted, simpering. They turned and started sauntering their way back into the party deck, while constantly taking a sneak-peek glance at each other and returning wry smiles.

"By the way," said Jake galncing at her dress, "you're wearing the most beautiful dress out here tonight."

A smirtle emmited from Dohana before she said, "So much flattery Mr Larson, if I didn't know better I'd say you're blind. With all the women in the party tonight?"

"Honestly, I saw you come in earlier. But you vanished before I could take a good look. This dress caught my attention. It's quiet gorgeous, like you." Jake stood at the entrance gazing upon her.

She blushed, words escaping her lips- only managed to a sweet grin.

As the couple came in, various members of Jake's friends saw them. That included Luke, who grinned, nodded in approval and winked at Jake.

When they arrived at the VIP section, Jake called the waitress over and she came over immediately.

"Bring me a shampagne of Cristal brut, and for my lady..." Jake sturdied Dohana, who seemed shy to make her pick.

"Please being an Armand de Brignac shampagne for my lady," said Jake. Dohana simpered at Jake.

'He is such a gentleman,' thought Dohana. 'Has'nt he all the qualities of a good man? Out of all the women here tonight, he chose me.'

When the waitress returned, she poured the shampagne on their glasses. The two toasted to each other and drank.

"To us," said Jake lost in her eyes as their glasses clashed. 'Wow, she's so gorgeous. I love the way she carries herself, her posture- princess like.'

"So, who did you come with tonight?" Jake asked.

"My friends, they are..." Dohana said pointing and squinting at the crowd. "They were right there. They must have moved."

Noticing her worried tone, Jake said, "looks like they've left you at my capable hands. Don't worry, they'll come back. They probably went to the restroom or something."

After having a conversation for over thirty minutes, the two had gotten well acquainted. They began to be tipsy and much more relaxed, sitting closer to each other at a moment's breath.

Suddenly, Lady Gaga's music hit, a hidden stage appeared and the crowd roared with excitement. The dance floor went bananas. Even Dohana shot up with elation.

"Oh! I love this song!" said Dohana yelling.

"To the dance floor then," replied Jake, he reached over and grabbed her hand. A lightning bolt struck as their hands touched, they glared at each other as they headed to the dance floor.
