Chapter 8 - Bunny

Captain Jay’s call to his superior went off without a hitch, Kat was authorised to watch the princess and they had permission to follow up on the lead but he would need a spaceship, and a crew who he could trust. He thought for a minute and then he smiled, Bunny, she owes me a big favour and she would make this mission fun. He found her on his comm screen, and clicked on her line.

“Hey bunny”

A loud cheery female voice was on the other end “Oh hey Jay, you remember how to get in touch with me now”

“Nope, I remembered you own me a favour, a big fat favour and I’m calling it in”

“Oh gosh” There was scoffing laugh on the other end of the line “I forgot you really are the most direct person I ever knew. What . . .  could you possibly ever want from me?

“A spaceship that I can borrow for 1 week, without anyone asking questions, and maybe a couple of trusted crew members”

“Flippin Heck, you aren’t even joking!”

Jay could hear her laughing in the background.

“Give me 15” Then she clicked off

He shook his head with a smile on his face, He had missed having Bunny on his team. She was a mechanic in the military but what she really specialised in was making the impossible happen. He thought he had better get back to Benny and Tilly to see what they had made out of the information.

Upon entering the room Benny look up and started filling Jay in “Well we don’t know the name of the princess, but we are sure she was transported to a different planet where she would be safe. We think that planet is S610 just by the references to it being remote and kept in balance. We know the princess is incredibly smart and capable, she also has a birth mark on her left forearm. Is there anything we missed?”

“No, that’s what I thought too. Do we have any access to any files of personnel on Planet S610? We need to know who this person SM Dora is.”

Benny pulled his comm screen out of his pocked, to start searching.

“Make sure you cover your access. We don’t want anyone knowing our team is interested in that location.”

“No problem” Benny said “I swiped the newbies teams access a couple of months ago. Knew it would come in handy.”

Shaking his head Jay said “I just didn’t hear that”

Tilly then spoke up “So how exactly are we going to get to Planet S610, and do you think they will just hand her over to us, and if so, will she come quietly?”

“Well I have a friend working on a ride, and the rest is up in the air until we know who is there” Jay replied

“Got it,” said Benny “That’s not good. . . .” There was a pause while he kept scanning through the document “Well the good news is there is currently in residence 4 Masters and 12 trainee’s ranging from 7 to 20 years of age. The bad news is the Senior Master and the person who has been doing the Princesses reports is from Planet Mercer and is a truth seeker. Everyone knows that they only let a Mercer leave the Planet if they are very good in their craft, got to keep up the precedent, that they can compel the truth at all times”

“Right well that will make it interesting.” Said captain Jay “so we probably can’t lie effectively enough to have the Princess walk out the front door with us, every one wishing her good bye. . .  So that leaves us with telling the truth or abducting the Princess.”

“What defences and transport does the planet have access too? Asked Tilly

Benny shut down one file & opened another. “It looks like they have one all-terrain vehicle and a ship approaching notification system and that is it. There looks like they don’t keep anything of value so no one want to turn up un-invited and steal stuff.”

“Yes nothing of value except a Princess of Ziion” Tilly commented “Can we tell who she is by the personnel log.”

“urmm, there are two older girls, Jenny 18 years and Mia 20 years.” Benny said

“So if she is a twin to Princess Rota, then our Princess is Mia. What are the chances they be identical?” Asked Jay

“That would help to Identify her,” said Benny.

Captain Jays comm alerted him to an open line, he walked up the hall to talk.

“Bunny, what did you find me?”

“Oh I found you a ride alright, Just happens there is a TSR350 Ship that needs a couple of tech upgrades and some internal calibrations whilst out in open space. I told them I have a time to do it now if they get it to me ASAP and it could take a week, something about if the calibrations were rushed it could explode on its next voyage”

“Oh my Bunny! you did it again” said Jay, amazed

“Yes, but you totally owe me for this, how many crew do you have commin? I’ll get her all set up”

“I got three of us on the way there and there will be four coming back”

“Oh it’s the old snatch and run job hey?” Bunny was laughing down the line again

“Something like that, do you have a navigator and Pilot?”

“Nah I can do one better, I got you a pilot who can navigate” said Bunny pleased with herself

“Ok what time and where are we leaving from?” asked Jay.

“Ship should be ready in 3 hours, is that enough time?”

“Yep”

“We can leave from the Military Port, you can get your team through the checkpoint can’t you?”

“Yep”

“Alright, see you then – Bunny out”

“3 hours it is, he said to himself”

He walked back into the room, it looked like the women had understood all Kats instructions and they had moved onto other things they needed to know. Beeves and Boris had found the snacks and were helping themselves and Benny and Tilly were still looking at documents on their comm screens.

“Take a copy of Princess Rota’s letter and put it with all the documents on Planet S610, on our system so we can all access it.” Jay said to Benny “We fly out in 3 hours, can you two go pack & pick me up at the water gate in 2 hours.”

“Yep” they both responded

He walked over to Kat and the Women.

Kat noticed and finished her sentence “I think they have all the basics; I want to put them through some training but we might start that tomorrow, a lot happened today.”  

The princess nodded “Thank you for all you are doing”

“We will be leaving to find your sister in 3 hours, if all goes well we should be back in Five or Six days. You can get messages to us through the program on your comms but your comm needs to be within a meter of the hair clip to send on our secured connection. Oh and you will need to tell those boys to get out of your snacks or you will have to re-stock them daily.” Jay nodded at Beeves and Boris.

The Princess smiled “Shimel, Lacy would you?”

The two women moved over to the “boys” one on each side of them.

“Watch this” said the Princess quietly.

 They both adopted a seductive pose and fluttered their lashes, both Beevis and Boris froze captivated by these women, lacy giggled and removed the biscuit from Boris’s frozen hand half way to his mouth. Shimel without breaking eye contact with Beevis, removed the biscuit jar from his hands. Then they both said in a sexy but forceful voice “No More!”

That broke the boys out of their spell, they looked confused Boris trying to work out why his hand was suspended half way to his mouth.

Kat and Jay burst out laughing

It was only then that the boy realised what happened, “Hey,” they said. “No fair”

“I’m seriously not that worried about your safety anymore” said jay to Princess Rota.

“Yes well, sometimes we get bored too.” She said with a small laugh.

“Right, well I should go and get ready to leave too. Kat! You got this”

“Kat gave a salute, I got this”

Captain Jay surveyed the room once more “Happy Hunting” he said with a nod and strode to the front door.
