6.

Luna Philipa cuddled her male child to herself. She had been groaning in pain after her twelve-year-old, Razor, ran off. She didn't know what to feel, pain for letting Razor go, or pain from her abdomen. She eventually went into labor and birthed her male pup, all on her own.

She sat with her child behind a tree a little distance from the safe grove she had crawled out from when she was in labour. "My heir is here" she muttered kissing the forehead of her child. This was the child she had borne herself, the long-awaited heir. She knew, her husband, Alpha Ragnar would be so delighted at this news when he came for her.

"We can talk about this, please."

Philipa heard a faint voice in the forest where she was. A voice that was not hers. A frail...needy voice.

"No. No. Please" she heard again, it was louder this time.

Philipa held onto her child tightly as she stood up and took two steps forward toward the voice. "No." She told herself. She had to stay around the safe grove, so Ragnar could find her when he came searching.

"I do not want to be Queen." The voice in the woods cried again.

"Humans..." Philipa muttered, anger settling on her lids when she recognized the scent. Whatever it was that was their issue, she didn't need to interfere.

As she walked back to the safe grove, she heard screaming.

She stopped, her sense of hearing heightened. The footsteps were coming closer to where she was, the panting of a helpless woman, and the cry of a child. Luna Philipa stood in her protective stance, her wolf eyes scanning around for who was running.

"Help!" The voice came and Philipa saw a woman with a child running towards her. "Save my child, please" the woman cried.

Even when the helpless woman was human, Philipa's motherly instincts were on alert. She quickly pointed at the safe grove and let the woman run into it with her child.

She then made a loud wolf growl when she saw the man who was running after the lady. He was human too. The war was between humans and wolves, why were humans fighting amongst themselves too?

"I do not come for you," the man said to Philipa as he walked slowly toward her. She noticed his uniform, he was a guard. She also noticed the silver in his arrows and swords. He was dangerous to wolves too.

Philipa's fang popped out as she growled again. "You have silver, it means you have come to war with me."

"I come for the human. You are in no place to protect her." The guard said

"Why do you want to kill her?" Philipa asked.

"Treason. She betrayed royalty and is a threat to us"

"Everybody is a threat to you lazy humans!" She spat. "Let the girl go, you're in my territory."

The guard cracked his neck twice and drew out his arrow, pointing it at Philipa. "There is no territory for you wolves. We have taken care of you enough."

"You humans could only dream of hurting us because we gave you the chance."

"Poor you. Who's got the power now?" The guard almost sprawled the arrow.

"Stop, please." Philipa turned to see the woman coming out of the safe grove, her hands raised in surrender. "Do not do anything to her. It is me you seek, Drew"

Drew withdrew his arrow and smiled as his eyes grazed her. "You knew that I fancy you, Belena," he clicked his tongue "Yet you rejected me to sleep with someone who would not accept you. You betrayed the only woman who seemed to care about you in the palace. You truly are slave material."

"We...fell in love. I could not control it either."

"Stupid of you to believe that!" He snapped. "Your existence means nothing to any of us now..." He drew out his arrows again, "...and that of your child" he pointed it at the child Philipa was holding.

Philipa's heart skipped as she held her child tightly. "This is not her child" she growled. She has never been that defensive of anyone before. Her eyes shot up, her claws popping out of her fingers as she snarled at Drew

"Take me," Belena said, standing in front of Luna Philipa. "It is me you want. Do whatever you please and let them go." She instructed him.

"It is not just you that I want," Drew said. "Get out of the way."

"I cannot," Belena said with a shaky voice.

"So be it then," Drew said, pulling his arrow harder on his bow, one would think he was playing tricks until he let it go and let it fly toward Belena's head. With his trained skills, the arrow pierced into Belena's forehead as she fell singly to the ground on Philipa's feet.

Philipa's eyes went down to the woman whose blood was gushing out of her head, mouth, and nose. She raised her head to look at the guard again and she let out a loud howl in the forest. A cry for help.

Igniting her wolf speed, Philipa took off into the forest, the wind almost behind her. Her child began to cry and the guard ran after the voice. Philipa circled the forest as many times as she could. She could neither go back to the wolf town because of the war nor to the human town either.

Out of breath, with blood dripping down her thighs from improper after-birth care and all that running, Philipa crumbled behind a tree. As she comforted her child, her lips were jittering and her palm was pale.

Yet, she thought of the fastest way to protect her child. She placed her child on the floor and began to gather fallen dry leaves to cover him up. "I'm sorry..." She muttered in tears to the baby.

"Please stay here and stay safe for me" Her hand scraped all the leaves around her as she began to cover her child's face, but he wouldn't stop crying.

"We truly cannot outrun...a wolf" Drew appeared, panting heavily as he held onto a tree for balance. His legs were shaky too and his eyes were spinning, if it hadn't been the child's cry, there was no way he could have caught up with her.

Philipa froze as Drew met her trying to hide her child. "You...don't have to do that." His laugh filled the forest and it echoed maniacally.

"This is not the woman's child!" Philipa screamed at him, with every strength left in her. "This is not her child!"

"You are a wolf, yet you risk your life to save a mere human maid."

"Because we are not like you selfish humans! All we ever did was love all of you like our own"

Drew clicked his tongue. "It's so sad to see you all go then..." His arrows are drawn swiftly and before Philipa could say a word, he let it into the air.

Like time slowed down, Philipa saw the arrow swing toward her crying child and the silver tip plunge into the newborn's chest, and his cries stopped...immediately...forever.

Philipa looked down at her child, his little lips turned blue, his newborn skin turning pale and heavy bloody tears ran down her face. "No..." She mumbled. "NO!" She screamed.

"Let's end this," Drew said, pointing his last arrow at Luna Philipa. Philipa's eyes altered colors to a deep red pigment, her fangs completely out, her skin changing into fur and she stood up from the floor.

Drew, terrified at the sight sent the arrow toward her.

Philipa caught it with her hands just before it got to her and like the fastest animal on earth, she charged towards Drew and pounced on him as they both fell to the ground.

"You, Bastard!" She screamed stabbing the arrow into one of his eyes and pulling it out. Drew's terror screams filled the forest as he struggled with the Luna. She stabbed that one eye several times, releasing all the anger and pain in her.

"You, Demon!" She cried.

Drew managed to find his small knife in his pocket and when he did, he stabbed Philipa too in the belly and they both collapsed at each other's side, blood spewing out of their wounds.

    11. Ragnar with his back turned on her, closed his eyes, hoping to hear some cracking of bones and growls, but nothing came. "Calantha" he called. "It's coming, father. Wait, please" she told him. He hoped. He believed. One glance at the full moon and he prayed to the goddess again. His daughter must… "It's taking too long, Calantha," Ragnar said, getting impatient. "I do not remember it taking so much time." "Father. I am a late bloomer, just a little longer, I feel it coming from my inside father." She responded, but truly all she felt was an uneven heartbeat and trembling hands. "Please work, please" she muttered under her breath. Calantha saw no change, none of what her siblings or boyfriend described to her as shifting. No frenzy feeling, just fear of her father turning to see that she had no wolf. She looked at the moon. "I'll give you all you want goddess, please make this happen" she whispered, her eyes dimmed with tears. "I'm turning back now," her father sai

    10. EIGHTEEN YEARS LATER ___°°°___ CALANTHA THUNDER. Calantha hid in the storage room with the boy she liked - the Beta's son. They had promised to meet at twilight before her birthday. Now they were here, in the dark as she stared at his glowy eyes. "You'll be eighteen in an hour," his voice reverberated in the room, he had reached puberty stage earlier than her. He touched her shoulders. "This would mean everything to us, Calantha" She nodded and her lips spread into a smile. "When I shift to my wolf, we would announce our relationship to my father." "And get married months after," they both chuckled. "It feels surreal" she exhaled and held his hands, looking deeply into his eyes. For a long time, Ste had waited for moments like this with him. Her boyfriend moved a step closer to her and then his fingers slowly brushed her nipples. Calantha was startled, as she moved away from him. "What are you doing?" "You promised me." He said, seeming disappointed. "I onl

  • The Princess's Captive Alpha.   9. The Beginning of The End.

    9. It was morning and the war had ended and several corpses were being dragged by the grave diggers and buried. Queen Daphne moved along with several guards into the forest in search of Drew since he had never come back. They spread out into the forest until one of them said. "We found him." Daphne rushed over to where they were and she saw Drew on the floor, one of his eyes plucked out as he lay unconscious. "Carry him" she ordered and the other guards hauled Drew on their backs. They went back to the palace and he was given medications immediately. Daphne then proceeded into the King's room. "We found him," she told her husband who was in the room with the little wolf boy, Razor. "Drew was hurt by those monsters," she spat. Razor eyes drifted to her and he didn't stop staring. King Godric let out his breath. "Did you find Belena...and her child?" Daphne gulped down her warm saliva. She couldn't believe Godric had the bravery to ask about his concubine's safety fr

    8. Luna Philipa crawled back to the safe grove with her bloody thighs, ripped belly, and pale face. But she had ensured that the royal guard was also left in the same agony. She entered the small hut and tears ran down her cheek. "My child" her eyes turned red and her face was burning, she held onto her belly where blood was gushing out. The incident replayed in her head, her child was barely an hour old, how could... The humans! They were going to pay dearly for this! As she tried to lie down on the floor to calm her dizziness, her eyes drifted to a corner and she saw...a child. She sprang up immediately, her eyes broadening. She quickly remembered; she had told the woman to go into the safe grove and the woman had kept her child. Philipa stretched her hand toward the newborn, but flinched. "No" her lips trembled. "That's not my child." She cried. "That's not my heir" she whimpered, her teeth making a chattering noise. The newborn began to cry. "Shh. Sshh" Philipa hushed

  • The Princess's Captive Alpha.   7. No Wolves!

    7. Alpha Ragnar watched in terror as his wolves battled with humans. The humans were gaining a victory and the bodies of his wolves lay on the ground. The humans' plan to take the wolves down must have been perfectly orchestrated for this to happen. "Raid their town!" He heard the human guards say as they all trotted toward his wolf territory. He worried for the women and children he had left behind. Grabbing the hand of his beta, he let out a low whisper. "Go back home. Tell anyone who can survive to meet us at the borders! The war is over." The beta ran off as he had been ordered. Ragnar scampered into the palace looking for King Godric, his fist balled at the sides. Three guards stopped in front of him and he clawed them out of his way, shifting into his wolf form and fighting them with his Alpha's strength. He shifted back and walked to Godric's throne room, pushing the door with his feet. Ragnar stood still as several guards pointed arrows and swords toward him. "My
