SASHA POV
I want to hate her, but I can't—everything about her screams sweet and elegant. Her manners are impeccable, and she is completely breathtaking. Her chocolate hair and eyes look great against her tan skin. She has beautiful lips and a model-like figure. Her height matches mine, but she moves with an elegance I will never possess. After she dropped me at my room, she left with Luis and Roland to show them theirs. I then had myself a good cry.Roland is pissed. He caught the Alpha "checking me out," his words, outside and thinks Alpha Ben is disrespectful. He also seems upset that the Alpha claimed Chelsea as his Luna, but she is unmarked. Both Luis and Roland are very much like my mom and me. We believe a wolf should only be with their Goddess given mate. So as soon as Roland finished unpacking, he came barging into my room to vent.I pinch Roland's underarm as he opens his mouth to speak again.Sasha- hush, let Luis handle it. Your attitude is too much right now.Roland- Fine.Sasha- Luis, please begin the schedule conversation.Luis- okay, but Sasha, I will not speak for you this entire trip. You need to step into your role.Sasha- I understand, and I will.I wish I were brave enough to explain to my men why I am behaving like this, but I can't. Rejection is burning its way through my veins. The pain is almost unbearable, and so is the embarrassment.I always thought when I met my mate, it would be magical. I never once feared I would be rejected......but here I am, sitting across from my mate's chosen Luna."As I'm sure you are aware, we will be here for two weeks. Sasha would like to spend the first two days exploring your pack and mingling with your wolves. She then will conduct her own training course for all of your members. This is the first time it will be tested, so we would like your pack's input at the end of the course. The training course will last ten days, so the last two days will be for Sasha to decide. Does this schedule interfere with any of your plans," Luis asks as he stares at my mate with unwavering eyes.Alpha Ben glances at me, but I keep my gaze on Luis. I don't want him seeing through my carefully placed mask of indifference."That sounds perfect. We don't have anything planned besides regular training...Princess, after dinner, I would like to speak to you privately in my office," Alpha Ben says, and I am forced to look at him."No problem," I reply with fake pep in my voice.Luis raises his eyebrow at my tone, but I act as if all is well and sip my water as the rest of the table finishes their meals.*********I watch out of the corner of my eye as Luna Chelsea places a kiss on my mate's cheek. My fists clench under the table, and Natalia thrashes against the wall I built in our mind.I keep my face as neutral as possible as everyone follows her out of the room besides Alpha Ben and I. He stands and clears his throat, but I refuse to lift my eyes to his."Right, please follow me," he says quietly, and I stand without making a noise. This is it; my mate is going to reject me. He will reject me, and I have to spend the next two weeks faking pleasantries with the she-wolf he chose over me. I grind my growing canines together as Natalia tries to force a shift.Alpha Ben takes me to a door on the second floor. He opens it and gestures for me to enter in utter silence. Butterflies flutter in my stomach, making me feel nauseous. The only thing keeping me from vomiting is his scent, peppermint, and a dash of chocolate. He walks around his desk and sits, but I remain standing. My eyes devour him as he looks me over. His aqua eyes are beautiful, as is his brunette hair. His beard is short and looks more like week-old stubble, but he pulls the look off nicely. His right arm has tattoos, and they give him an edge...... His voice cuts through my haze, and reality slaps me in the face."We should talk about the elephant in the room, don't you think," he says, and my heartbeat begins to sound like a galloping horse."Yes, we should," I manage to say calmly."Please sit," Alpha Ben pleads in a gentle voice while gesturing towards a black chair.I decide I might as well get comfortable before the inevitable pain ransacks my body. I sit down with as much grace as I can muster. I don't want to appear clumsy since Chelsea walks in heels like she was born in them."Look, Sasha, you have to understand my situation. I am an Alpha. I needed a Luna. I believed that my mate died in the war like so many other males my age," Ben says, and I interrupt him."How old are you," I ask in a cold voice."I'm thirty-one," Alpha Ben answers, and I nod once as I let my eyes drift around his office. My mask of professionalism has fallen. My sadness and anger are clear on my face as my mate stares at me. I already felt tired of acting strong, so who cares. It is just him and me here anyways—no use in behaving as if I have an audience."Sasha, as you can see, Chelsea is a great person. I don't want to hurt her. If you could give me some time to decide what is best for my pack and myself, that would be," he says, and I interrupt him again."So I am to wait until you decide who you want," I growl in a low voice.Natalia flashes behind my eyes."It isn't because I don't want you. It's just," Alpha Ben says, and I once again interrupt."You don't know if you want her more or not," I growl again as pure rage erases all sadness within my system.I stand to my feet slowly, and Alpha Ben leans back with fear written in his eyes."My father told me the story of how your great grandparents met......I guess you take after your great-grandmother. You have her eyes," I growl with utter malice coating my words.I spin on my heel and leave his office with a slam. Never have I felt this angry before. I can not believe that is who the Goddess chose to pair me with.Natalia- let's go for a runSasha- sounds good.Natalia- I can't believe my first ever mate doesn't want me. Does he not realize we are the lycan king's daughter. Our blood is the strongest. Our pups would be...Sasha- I don't know what is going through his mind, Natalia. But I am sure his wolf wants you; it is the human side that is rejecting us.I place my dress on a branch and kick off my painful heels. Natalia rips through our skin and lands on her paws within half a second. She turns our nose upwards towards the glowing moon and howls out our sorrow. She dashes off as soon as her mournful song ends, and I curl up in the back of our mind. So far, this trip is nothing like I thought it would be.If only I had known that impressing Alpha Ben would be this critical.ALPHA BENHer howl rips through my heart as it echoes into the night sky. Never in my life have I felt so defeated. She hadn't listened to me. She had interrupted and put words in my mouth. But her words were valid.I don't know what I want. Foryears I searched for my mate, but I guess I truly did give up on her being alive. I gave up, and I moved on. I moved on and chose a person to spend my life with—a great person at that.Ace- But you didn't mark herAce's grumble rattles me even more, and I sigh. Chelsea has asked me several times about marking in the past, and I always told her that we should both wait. I mainly wanted to give Chelsea's mate a chance at finding her. But I had also told myself it would be disrespectful to the Goddess to place a mark on a she-wolf who wasn't my mateBen- Ace, this is a messAce- you have wanted our mate, but now you are hesitating! Why? Why hesitate? Tell Chelsea the truth.Ben- it isn't tha
PLEASE LEAVE REVIEWS IT HELPS MY STORIES!!! I NEED TO KNOW WHERE I CAN IMPROVE OR WHAT I AM DOING RIGHT. THANK YOU ALPHA BEN"THE PRINCESS IS YOUR MATE," Vince shouts, and I growl loudly."Shut up," I order, and he thumps down in one of my office chairs."I haven't told Chelsea," I disclose in a low voice."Ben, this is the kings' daughter we are talking about. Do you realize what you have done by parading a chosen mate in front of her," Vince says before gripping his own hair like he is the one stressed out."I am aware, but Vince, I can't just drop Chelsea. She is important to me, to this pack," I say before standing up and pacing behind my office chair."You think our pack wouldn't accept the princess as their luna," Vince asks with disbelief in his voice."I don't know. She is young. I don't know anything about her personality. She has never been away from her home pack.....and I know how sheltered Jackson kept her. She doesn't have the maturity level that Chelsea has," I say, try
SASHA POVI stay silent as Luis and Roland chain the filthy man to a metal chair that looks to be cemented into the ground. Ben is standing against the wall and glaring at me, but Iignore him. I don't care if he feels as if I disrespected him in front of his pack; this is what I have been trained for.My parents and Luis have spent years honing my muscles and my mind for assassination attempts. I know how to fight. I know how to interrogate. I know how to tell false information from the truth. I have done nothing but train for this moment. Ben can scowl and act like a pup all he wants. This was an attack on my life, and I will be the one to gather the facts from this pile of trash.Sasha- I need a blade and a bottle of wolfsbane.Roland- I brought my bag it is on the table. There are pliers and a saw in the bag also.Sasha- perfect. Luis, is he bound?Luis- yes. Even his neck is restrained.Sasha- let's begin. Stay silent until
SASHA POVI put my parents on speaker and set my phone on the middle console in the car. Luis gives me a side glare, but I ignore him. "SASHA STONE, YOU WILL OBEY ME," Father yells through the earpiece just as I thought he would. "Father, Mom, and dad both agree with me. You have been outvoted. Why can't you just believe in me and my abilities," I ask while letting my frustration and hurt ring in my voice. I am so tired of my Father acting as if I am incapable. I understand his love is driving his fear, but sometimes it is as if he doubts me. "Sasha, this isn't about how strong you are. This is about what is the safest option," Father growls, and I hear mom sigh. "Jacks, our daughter is a first-born descendant. Her wolf is faster, stronger, and larger than 80% of all werewolves. She has the upper hand even when she is out
ALPHA BEN POV Roland's posture stiffens as I approach him with my hands in my pockets. I place a smirk on my face, and his eyes darken. Now that I realize what is causing his disrespect, I like the man. He respected his mate enough to let her handle her relationship. He stepped aside and bit his tongue like a man. I stop a foot away and morph my smirk into a full-blown smile. His chest vibrates as he restrains his growl. He is probably pissed because I smell as if Chelsea and I had an intimate moment. I mean, I am drenched in her scent. I pull one of my hands from my pocket and offer it to him. "Congratulations on having Chelsea as your mate," I say, and his facial expression falls instantly. He grabs my hand and shakes it while his mouth hangs open in surprise."Umm, thanks...I wasn't expecting a handshake," Roland says,
SASHA POV As the two rogues I allowed to live drag what they assume is my unconscious body, I push my mental barrier out as far as I can. I have only practiced this once, but I am pretty sure I can link Father. Our connection is solid, and I need to warn him. I know the strain will mentally exhaust me, but it has to be done.Sasha- Father, can you hear me? If you can act normal.Father- Sasha, I can, but you are faint. How are you, baby? Are you okay?Father's voice cracks in my head, and I immediately know my Father is crying.Sasha- Father, listen, please. I allowed them to take me. They knew way too much about my schedule today. They ambushed Luis in the bathroom and drug him out. They knew since we have a life bond, I would feel him. We have traitors.....and not just in Riverstone. I need you to act like I am in danger, and this wasn't on purpose, so their informants don't
BEN POVStanding on the porch waiting for the Royals has never felt this nerve-wracking. I know the twins are aware of Chelsea, but I don't know if they know about Sasha and I. Honestly, Ace and I would welcome any kind of physical pain they have to offer."How are you feeling. The head good," Vince asks, cutting into my depressive state of mind."Yeah, man. You know how it is that injury to my prefrontal cortex never really healed. I just got overwhelmed for a second. Ace is pissed he can't heal it. Are you trying to force small talk on me," I ask while shooting him a glance."Yup. Your mate is missing, and her parents are about to disembowel all of us. I'm just glad you disclosed the information to Chelsea already," Vince states, and I nod my head as we both watch the pack vehicles pull up.Jason and Amelia shoot me hateful glares, but I remain calm. Their looks could be due
ALPHA BEN POV I growl quietly as I watch the Royals and Sasha's guards eat like my mate isn't still missing. Last night after Jackson stopped me from skinning Bailey alive, things changed. All the Royals seemed to relax, like taking care of the traitors were the only thing that had mattered to them. Chelsea and Vince are just as confused as I am. I can tell by the way Chelsea keeps eyeing Roland and Vince keeps furrowing his eyebrows. Finally, Ace and I break. I slam my hands on the table, and I snarl at the calm faces. "What the hell is going on," I question with barely contained fury. Luis and Roland stiffen, but the Royals remain calm. My outburst even seems to amuse Jackson."We are having breakfast," Jacks states with a hint of humor in his eyes that are identical to my mate's."And after we are done eating, we are leaving
