AYLA

It's been a few days since Ivy and I arrived at Dustspire Library. As much as I love going sightseeing and taking time for myself, I need to find out more about my powers.

There is no telling when Slade will find out where I am and when he does he will take me away and make sure no one has access to me without him knowing.

So I need to gather as much knowledge as I can but the Seer won't see me. She insists I take time to connect with myself or whatever that means.

I'm done connecting. She needs to tell me how my powers work and about the prophecy. That's the reason I came here in the first place.

I put on one of the clothes I was given. It is more like a uniform. Everyone here wears it and they seem to be happy about it including Ivy. I don't, the style is certainly not mine.

I walked out the door, trying to find out the way towards the seer's office.

“Excuse me, where can I find the Seer,” I asked someone, who just looked at me like I was a plague and walked away.

“That was ru

AYLAThe sound of the helicopter blades echoed in my ears, loud and constant. The wind inside the cabin whipped against my face, but I barely felt it. All I could do was stare at Slade. He lay motionless on a gurney beside me, his chest rising and falling too slowly. His skin was pale, almost gray. The straps around him held his body steady, but nothing could hold back the fear crushing my chest. His eyes didn’t open. He hadn’t moved since the hemorrhaging.Silvia sat across from me, her hand gently wrapped around mine. Her grip was warm, grounding. She was shaking too, though she tried to hide it.“He’s going to be okay,” she said softly, her eyes locking with mine. “He’s strong, Ayla. Stronger than anyone I know.”I nodded, but I didn’t believe it. Not yet. Not when he looked like this.Damon sat near the cockpit, tense, staring straight ahead. One hand rested on his sword, like he didn’t know how to relax, even now. Riven was beside him, blood still staining his armor, jaw tight, e

AYLAMy heart felt heavy as I stared at Ivy. Her eyes burned with anger, but behind that rage, I saw something else… pain. Confusion. Fear. She had no idea what the truth really was.“He’s your brother,” I said again, my voice shaking. “Slade didn’t kill your mother, Ivy. He never would.”She blinked fast, like the words didn’t make sense. “That’s a lie,” she whispered, stepping back. “You’re just saying that because you care about him.”“No,” I shook my head. “I’m saying it because it’s the truth.”Selene looked down at the ground, quiet now. She didn’t try to stop me, didn’t defend Ivy, didn’t speak at all. That silence told me everything I needed to know, she already knew. She’d been keeping the truth from Ivy this whole time.“You knew,” I said, pointing at her. “You knew and still let her hate him.”“You shouldn't talk about things you don't understand,” Selene finally spoke, and I scoffed.“You shouldn't manipulate people to get what you want,” I said and she laughed hystericall

AYLA“Slade!! No!!” I yelled as I dropped to the ground with his body in my arms.“Hold on!” I continued screaming, trying to stop the bleeding with my hands. Warm, thick blood covered my fingers. It wouldn’t stop. I pressed harder, my whole body shaking. His bloody hand covered mine, trying to stop me.“What are you doing?” I asked through the tears. My voice cracked. I couldn’t stop crying.“Let me,” he whispered. His eyes… they were losing their shine. That spark I think I love…fading.“No, no, no. Don’t do this,” I sobbed. “You promised. You said you’d always come for me. You can’t leave me now.”“I’m here,” he whispered. His voice was barely there.I placed my hand on his cheek. “Stay with me. Please, Slade. You can’t leave. Not like this.”His blood poured down his throat. He choked, coughing weakly.“Don’t talk. Just breathe. We’ll fix this. I’ll heal you. I can try….” I stopped, because I didn’t know how. My powers haven't worked on him for the longest time.I could hear a lot

AYLA“Where are you taking me!” I screamed as they dragged me across the dusty field. The sky above was cloudy, but I could still feel the sun on my skin. I squinted, trying to understand where I was. All around me stood women in long white cloaks. They stood in a circle, silent, staring like statues.Serena and the Seer stood in front of the group, and Ivy was right beside them. I could see the slight smirk on Serena’s face. She leaned over and whispered something to the Seer, who nodded with a calm expression.“Good,” the Seer said, her voice calm but cold. “She should be scared. At least she knows our threat is real.”My hands were tied behind me with thick ropes. I could feel the energy in the ropes, they were wrapped with magic. I tried to fight, twisting and pulling, but the more I moved, the tighter they became. My heart pounded against my chest.“I’ve done nothing to deserve this,” I shouted, my voice shaking. “You’re all afraid of me, but I haven’t even hurt anyone!”“You are

AYLAMy eyes kept blinking repeatedly, trying to navigate the rays of the sun. I couldn't open my eyes but I could hear with my ears.“You need to make sure she doesn't sleep,” I heard a voice I couldn't recognize.“Why?” My eyebrows peaked as I heard Ivy's voice closer. The doors of where I was placed were open and I could feel people walking in.“Do it,” the voice I couldn't recognize said and before I could react to what she meant I felt a great amount of water poured on me and my eyes opened.“What the hell?!” I yelled, getting up from the floor. I looked around the room I was kept in.It reminded me of my room back in Moonlit Pack, a small space with a bed and a lamp fit for a maid.“You didn't answer my question, why shouldn't we let her sleep?” Ivy asked, directing her question to the only unrecognizable face in the room.“We can't have her dream walking and calling for help, do we?” The woman said and Ivy shook her head.“Too late,” I said in my head and Ivy turned sharply tow

SLADEThe voices of everyone in the room seem to have faded out with me in my own thoughts. Things haven't been the same since Ayla disappeared.A little bit of famine has been reported in one of our most populated cities and lots of rage and fighting could be seen amongst the people. Is this what the prophecy meant by calling her the promised Luna, that she is going to be a light wherever she is?I sighed and walked away from the stuffed noises. I should have just told her who she was instead I let the idea of having her powers overtake me, just like it did to my father. I looked to my side to see one of my mother's ladies staring at me lustfully, she was the one Ayla caught me with and she had tried yet again to get me to sleep with her. What's wrong with some women and their quest for power, they would do anything.Usually I wouldn't be able to control myself, and I would fuck her without thinking about it, but now all I think about is Ayla.I turned away from her eyes and walked
