I kept on pacing around the medical room wondering when Ayla will be brought to us. What if she subdued the guards, and escaped. I should have gone myself to get her.

I looked at Damon, I could hear his breathing. It sounded shallow, not the one of five men he used to have.

“She will come,” I heard Silvia say.

“I hope you are right….” My words left my mouth as I started to hear her heartbeat. Not Silvia's heartbeat but Ayla's.

It was clear she was anxious to see me but she was calm, unfear like she was prepared for this moment. She is thinking multiple thoughts at once that I couldn't pick which one is about me.

“Smart girl,” I said with a smirk, and the doors opened. I heard her exhale deeply, and then she walked in.

Everything, and everyone stood still as she walked in. Something about her radiated light. She didn't look like she had been in the tombs for weeks, instead she looked more beautiful than she ever was.
