CHAPTER 14 - Gavin Saville

Amarah looked up from the patient’s record at the small office behind the reception counter, that she is encoding when she heard the bell, installed above on their main door, dinging on a Wednesday morning. Before getting up to check, she groaned inwardly when she heard no trace of Tracy greeting the customer formally.

“You’re really proving that you’re a saint, Arah,” she muttered as she placed down her pen and stood up. She patted down her soft and plain blue dress with a boat neckline to get rid of any wrinkles before checking to see who entered. “She ditched you once again to be with that new guy she’s obsessed about.”

She stopped dead on her tracks when she saw the person at the other side of the counter.

“Dad!”

Amarah could feel tears at the back of her eyes as she quickly walked around the counter and threw her arms around her father’s neck and hugged him tightly.
