Chapter Two

Diego’s POV

I woke to a pounding on my door. It was loud as if they were angry.

“Alpha don’t make me break down this door!” My Beta Jared yelled.

“Go away and let me sleep!” I whined back.

“It’s 3:30pm my dude. The ball starts at 7pm and it’s going to take us two hours to get there. Get your ripe ass up and go get ready I can smell you from behind this door.” He scolded me.

“Piss off!” I threw a pillow at my door and groaned as I rolled out of bed.

I wiped my hands across my face as my wolf Asher started doing circles inside my head.

‘Can you calm down in there I just woke up.’ I said.

‘No you need to get up and get going right now! I can feel something. I think we are meeting our mate today. You need to get ready! Make us look handsome!’ He retorted at me.

‘You said we would meet our mate last year.’ I rolled my eyes at him. ‘I’m 25 buddy we still have time.’

‘NOW!’ He growled.

I’m sure he would have kicked my ass if he could have. I got out of the bed and padded over to the bathroom starting the shower. Jared was right I was ripe. I let the warm water run down my back and I closed my eyes. Fancying the idea of finding my mate. What would she look like? Would she be shy and timid or sassy? Maybe both? I chuckled as I grabbed the body wash and washed myself throughly. Then I washed my hair. Grabbing a near by towel I turned off the water and stepped out going over to the sink and brushing my teeth. I ran my fingers through my thick black curly hair with one hand tussling it just right. I finished up rinsing out my mouth and winked at myself in the mirror. I made my way back to my bedroom and got into the closet. Debating on suits.

“Come on dude it’s almost 4:30!” Jared barged into my room.

“I’m coming go get the car ready I’ll be down in 15.” I looked at him then back at the suits.

He rolled his eyes and walked out. I heard his foot steps disappear down the hall. Finally I decided on a black suit with a red silk button down shirt and some black shoes. Quickly I got my clothes on leaving my jacket open and a couple buttons undone to show my tanned chiseled chest.

‘Our mate will not be able to resist us.’ Asher said to me as I put my shoes on and ran out the door.

It was nearly 5pm Jared was gonna kill me for making us short on time.

“It’s about fucking time.” Jared said as I got into the drivers seat.

“Watch who you’re talking to Beta.” I said to him as I put my seatbelt on and punched the car into drive speeding down our pack house drive way.

“Opal moon pack isn’t that far my guy.” I hit his shoulder gently.

“Far enough. What if we meet our mates today! I don’t wanna be late for that!” Jared smiled.

“I get it buddy I do.” I turned up our music and punched the gas.

The mustang purred to life, we would be there before we knew it.

Right on the 7pm dot we rolled up to the Opal Moon pack house. There were cars lining the streets. They had a valley in the front for those who had to travel. Jared and I got out and I handed the old man the keys. Walking up the party was flowing outside and inside. Fairy lights and lanterns were strung along the near by posts and trees. Tables were set up with food and drink.

“Go mingle Beta.” I padded Jared’s back.

“Go find your Luna.” He retorted sticking his tongue out at me as he walked off.

I chuckled and began to move around the crowd. Asher began to pace in my head.

‘Asher?’

‘She’s here.’ He whispered to me.

‘But what do you mean how do you know?’

‘Take a deep inhale through your nose Diego.’

There was a faint alluring smell. It was lavender, eucalyptus, and what it smells like just before a storm. I began to sniff around my mind in a frantic. Asher leading me in my mind. We looped around the front, looked everywhere inside but came up with nothing. Just as Asher was about to give up the door to the back yard opened. I took another whiff. Out there she’s out there our mate is out there. Asher pranced in my head as I walked quickly to the door yanking it open. I scanned the area no one catching my eye until I double backed. In the middle of the dance floor was a girl. Her dress clung to every part of her body as if it were a second skin. It reflected like water. Her back was to us. Her dress cut very low on the back showing milky skin. Her hands were up in the hair poised while she moved to the music. Her delicious hips swinging back and forth hypnotically.

‘Pup bearing hips.’ I could feel Asher drooling in my head as he said this.

Slowly she turned and my eyes traveled up her bottom. Her almost white hair was swept up perfectly on top of her head where more water like trinkets trickled when she came full face I saw her pouty lips. Her eyes were closed. There was a mark above her left breast.

‘She is Pure! Just like us!’ Asher whined.

My eyes kept traveling, her breasts were large but just right on her body you could really see her hour glass figure. A thigh high slit went up her dress and it took everything in me to not pop a hard on right there. Her hands traveled down as she kept moving to the music.

‘Stop eye fucking her and go over there!’ Asher shrieked.

I shook my head and slowly walked up. I stood inches from her not knowing what to do. I watched her slow down as her face changed. She sniffed and slowly her eyes opened. She was looking down at first. I could tell she was taking me all in. As her eyes came up to mine I stared in to black and grey. A beautiful storm and darkness.

‘Her eyes are so unique and beautiful.’ Asher said in awe.

I watched her mouth part and as our eyes completely locked onto one another the word just slipped out of both our mouths.

“Mate.”

It was but a whisper. With our wasting anytime I wrapped my arm around her waist and brought her body to mine. Holding out my other hand she took it. Little shocks ran through my body I knew she felt them to because her eyes closed and she shivered. I pulled her tighter to me her small curvy body fit perfectly into mine. More music began to play and I swept her off her feet and away. Moving around the dance floor. I saw a blush creep up on to her face and I smiled.

‘Introduce us dumby.’ Asher said.

I cleared my throat which startled her a bit. “Sorry I’m Diego. Alpha of Winter moon pack.”

Her eyes widened at the mention of alpha. She looked away for a minute seemingly shy. “My name is Storm. I hold no fancy titles and I am from here at Opal moon pack.”

“How old are you?” I asked.

“18 almost 19. I graduated just this May.”

“It a summer hall after all isn’t it?” I chuckled.

She giggled too and it was such a sweet little sound. Her voice was smooth and soft like water.

‘Let’s take her home!’ Asher said all but to excited to see what laid under her dress.

I wasn’t going to say no to that thought. “I know we just got here but do you wanna ditch this place?”

She nodded up at me and I grabbed her hand slowly walking around front. I mind linked Jared.

‘I found her!’

‘What!? You lucky bastard! Are you leaving?’

‘Yes I’ll let you know details. You keep having fun.’

‘Will do!’

I was about to ask the valet for my car when she tugged on my hand gently. I looked back at her in question. Didn’t she want to leave?

“My parents they live right down the road. I know it’s just so sudden but I would really like to say good bye.” She bit her bottom lip.

I growled on the inside lord she couldn’t be doing that. “Of course lead the way.”

She did a little jump and smiled as she pulled me behind her down the street.
