Chapter One

Storms POV

I was running through the forest at break neck speed. The trees were a blur as I jumped and dodged their roots that jutted out of the ground. The wind was whipping through my fur, the ground shifting beneath my paws. My wolf Rain and I were panting as we tired out. But we didn’t want to stop oh we loved to run. When we ran the world ran with us. The sun was beating down fueling us with its rays. Coming upon a stream we decided to rest and bask in its warmth. Curling up in a near by meadow we rolled around and then found a comfortable position. It was days like this we wished to go undisturbed. But we knew it would come to an end shortly. Mom and dad never let us stay out too long especially not in wolf form.

Hi I am Storm and my wolfs name is rain. Why the name Storm? When I was born I came out with a full head of hair that was so light it was practically white I had one grey eye and one black colored eye. I was marked by the moon Goddess herself with a crescent moon on the left side of my chest that now was right above my well endowed breast. My parents worst fears were confirmed when I turned 16 and we shifted. Rain our wolf came forth and with her she brought a very bad storm. Her fur was light grey and when we shifted she spoke.

“I am Rain. Child of the moon Goddess I control the storms I am the storm. I am Pure.”

I hadn’t had any bad out bursts for awhile but any time I would get super upset it would rain, thunder would roll and lightning would strike. I feared myself for Rain would whisper we were way more powerful could do so much more damage but we needed to learn how to control our emotions first.

The runs we went on were therapeutic. Mom and dad tried to help me as best they could but with very few Pure wolves no one could really tell you how to reign in your emotions let alone teach you. We were on our own.

‘Storm you need to come back and get ready.’ My mom came across the mind link.

Rain snorted. We didn’t want to leave our meadow.

‘Just a few more minutes please!’ I begged.

‘Now young lady. You have a ball to get ready for.’ She scolded.

Ugh stupid ball, stupid dance. Every year wolves from all packs would gather for a ball. Fancy suits and beautiful sparkling dresses. When you turned 18 you were allowed to attend most people found their mates while attending. I wasn’t in any hurry to find my mate. But my parents were ever pushing. They thought it would help protect me more. My pack embraced my abilities but others would seek to use it for no good.

Slowly Rain and I got up and we trotted back home. Making sure we got a good roll in the mud just to make mom angry. When I got up to the house I saw mom outside stomping her feet.

“What took you so long young lady?” She squinted her eyes at me.

Rain only grinned at her and shook the mud flying everywhere.

Mom screamed in disgust and glared pointing to the mud room. “March in there right now and get sprayed off you will not be tracking that inside.”

I shifted and saluted “Ma’am yes sir.” I giggled.

Mom rolled her eyes at me and followed me inside. I stepped into the waiting hot shower in the mud room rinsing off. When I was finished mom and handed me a towel. “There’s a bath waiting for you upstairs. Shave and exfoliate! You never know you might meet your mate tonight.” She winked.

“As if.” I wrapped myself up and stomped upstairs.

“What’s all the commotion? Did you roll in the mud again?” My dad hollered down the hall from his office.

“You know it!” I said enthusiastically.

“That’s my girl!” He says back laughing to himself.

Once I reached my room I went to the bath. Not wanting to irritate mom anymore because she had to help me get ready and as much as we didn’t want too Rain agreed we should look good just incase our mate was there tonight. The bath was heavenly. I soaked in lavender and eucalyptus letting it wash into my hair. I shaved every inch of my body and scrubbed down real good. Don’t think I had ever been this clean.

I got out slowly wishing I could stay in the warmth and relaxing smells. I towel dried my hair and put some products in it to help out its waves. Just like most storms my hair was unpredictable it’s waves doing as they please. Falling in long cascades down my back. I looked in the mirror.

“Here we go.” I said to myself. “Mom I’m ready if you are!”

She practically ran up the stairs. “I can’t wait!! Let’s do your makeup! You don’t need much you’re naturally beautiful let’s just enhance your features.”

She picked up some brushes and products and made quick work of my face being gentle but hurried.

She then swept up my hair twisting and braiding it into a bun on top of my head. Inserting glistening little hair pins that looked like rain drops falling from my hair. When she was done she clasped her hands together eyes teary eyed. I raised my eye brow.

“Mom what is it?”

“You just look so beautiful.” She wiped away a couple of tears that escaped and shook her head. “Okay okay enough blubbering go ahead and go get your dress on. Dad and I will be waiting down stairs.”

I nodded and turned to the mirror as she left. Stunned by my own reflection. You could barely tell I had makeup on but the highlights and the contours brought out my features perfectly. My eyes staring back at me. Rain flashed her eyes at me one white and one dark grey similar to mine just lighter.

‘We look beautiful.’ She noted.

‘I agree.’ I replied to her.

After gawking at ourselves we got up and headed to our closet to the enclosed dress bag that had been hanging there for awhile. I unzipped it and pulled out the fabric. It was silk soft to the touch. It had beading that matched my hair pins cascading down it in a breath taking pattern. The color a blueish grey. I slipped into it and it clung to my body like water. Showing off all my curves. A thigh high slit went up my left leg showing off my long legs. It had a slight plunge in the front that showed off and lifted my girls with a cut out back. It had thin clear straps holding it up. I slipped into a pair of black lacy underwear and smoothed it down gently. I slipped on my silver high heels and then I looked over at the door where a full length mirror hung. I could feel Rains jaw drop.

‘Storm we look….we look.’

‘I know there are no words. I have a good feeling about tonight.’ I replied to Rain.

‘Girl I hope we find our mate looking like this!’ I could feel her dance around.

I shook my head at her and grabbed the knob in my bedroom door.

‘Mom, dad I’m coming down.’ I mind linked them.

I could hear them hustle to the bottom of the stairs. I took a deep breath.

“Here goes nothing.” I sighed.

My stomach did somersaults as I opened the door and stepped out. Closing it behind me. I walked down the hall and stood at the top of the stairs. My parents looked up. Mom instantly started to cry and dads jaw dropped he looked like he couldn’t catch his breath as he was holding back his tears. I made it to the bottom and they instantly hugged me.

“My dear you look so radiant.” My mother cried into my neck.

My dad patted me on the back. “You are so grown up. My little girl.”

I gave them a big squeeze and pulled back. “I better get going don’t wanna be late.”

“Wait before you go.” Dad jogged back to his office and came back holding a small box. “Here for tonight.”

I took the box and opened it. Inside was a small hollow glass rain drop shaped pendant on a white gold chain. I took it and smiled lifting it I saw in the glass rain drop there was water. I touched it and my hand glowed.

‘Dad gave us part of our powers.’ Rain whispered.

I looked up at him trying not to cry. He gently took the necklace and unclasped it. Coming behind me he rebooked it and let it fall. It rested right between my breasts.

“Now you’re ready to go.” He patted my back gently.

I nodded. “I love you guys!”

“We love you too! And if you meet that mate of yours do bring him home before you just take off and leave us forever!” Dad said.

“Yeah yeah.” I rolled my eyes and opened the front door.

Many other of age wolves were walking down the street to our huge pack house where the ball would be held. Dresses of all colors and shapes sparkled in the setting sun. Gentleman looked dapper in their suits.

‘Something big is going to happen today.’ Rain shivered in my head. ‘I can feel it.’

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. ‘What ever it is we got this.’

We walked out of the house and began to walk with our other pack members. Talking excitedly with them. Tonight was going to be epic.
