Do you think Maddie is mad at me? Did I say that out loud?

I clapped a hand over my mouth. Clara was still in the room. After she got my feet massaged. I laid down to rest but I couldn't get my thoughts at ease.

Is she angry? Why did she look at me in such a manner? So many questions all at once.

Probably I should text her. I rummage in my pocket for my phone to switch it on. Messages began to pop in at the same time.

Most of the message was from Drago, the Mafia second in command.

“Boy have you gotten the solution yet, time is to ticking”

I checked the date, it was sent three days ago and the recent one was sent just an hour ago.

“HAVE DONE AS YOU HAVE BEEN TOLD” it was written in bold capital letters.

I gasped, my breath hitched for a moment. My memories went down to my last encounter, they could do worse to me or even come after me if they didn't hear any words from me.

With shaky hands I typed.

“I'm on it”

I have switched off my phone for days hoping I couldn't be trailed
