Laura's point of view:

I ran, not thinking to look back.

I was not only afraid but also terrified. Unlike me, my wolf was angry and wanted control to fight.

In fact, I don't think my wolf likes me at all. She never talks to me unless she wants to blame me for something or take Damien's side instead of mine.

She was howling, shouting, screaming that I needed to stop, to go back to Damien. Is she out of her mind?

Not wanting to listen to her or care, I kept running and running until I was facing the gates of the palace.

The guards tried to stop me, and for a while, they were about to succeed.

Well, it happened at the right time. I remembered what happened to that rogue and Noah. Then I felt a creepy smile crawl across my face as I knew what I should do next.

"Open the gates!" I ordered, using my authority against the poor guard. A shocked look was drawn on their faces as they followed my orders without understanding why.
