LOGINFreya's POV:
The clinking of glass had become the most normal thing for the past one week in my life and what I dreaded the most because more visitors meant more pain. “I just got a pet,” I heard my owner say, and my heart dropped. Not again… I couldn't go through it any more today. The curtain to the cage that I was locked up moved and my owner came into view; a short man that was drowning in jewelry and an expensive yellow robe. “She's a fine and young one,” the visitor who was way taller than him said before he squatted to study me better. I tried to use my legs to cover my naked body, but that only earned me cat calls from other spectators. “Blood type.” The question made my heart thump fast because I knew what would come next after that. “Rh-null.” The proud tone William had used to answer made me so disgusted and knowing what was going to come next made me want to end my life on the spot. “How is that possible?" The bald man who was still peering into the cage asked with disbelief clearly written on his face. Please don't suggest it. Please don't suggest it. “Do you want to find out?” William asked the question that had become a routine at this point. The man seemed to think about it for a while before licking his lips, probably trying to imagine what my blood tasted like. Okay, this might be kind of confusing since I haven't fully introduced my owner, Baron Williams. Apparently, anyone who owns several estates is respected and given the title Baron in this world. A world where vampires and other supernatural beings live. At first, I believed that it was just the lack of pills that was making me hallucinate that part, but after being drank from by several people to the extent I had several injuries everywhere, I knew that this was really my current situation. “Justin, unlock the pet's cage.” On cue, Justin, who had been my arch enemy even though he was just doing his job, unlocked the cage, making me scramble back. William had been unable to break me ever since I was brought to him, so he had vowed to let everyone drink from me until I didn't resist anymore. Justin's thin body loomed over mine before he finally bent and tried to pick me up. “Let me go,” I screamed and tried to claw at Justin, who managed to overpower me and drag me out as usual. I screamed and cried at the top of my lungs and it only got worse when my skin touched a cold body that definitely belonged to a vampire. “Please, don't,” I whimpered when the vampire forcefully turned my head to the side so that he could have access to my neck. A sharp pain shot through my neck when the vampire roughly sunk his teeth into my neck and drank from me. I continued to try to get out of his grasp but that only made my skin tear more as he continued to drink hungrily while William's familiar laughter echoed in the background. By the time he was done - or so I thought - I could feel my consciousness slipping away as my body was unable to take the throbbing pain. Everyone seemed to be amused by what was happening as they all laughed along with the man and just when I had only managed to get a bit far from the vampire before he held me by the leg and dragged me back. Horror filled me when I knew what was about to happen. Men like him are never satisfied with the amount of blood that they've gotten from me because I have a rare blood type that they've never come across. “William,” I begged with a cracked voice for my owner's help even though I knew it was useless. Another round of torture soon began when the vampire sniffed around my boobs, probably looking for the right vein, then paused and let out a scary chuckle. “What's happening here?” A deep voice that seemed strangely familiar said just when he was about to sink his teeth. I couldn't be more grateful even though I knew that the whole torture would continue once the person left. Everyone in the room bowed their heads and that made me curious to see who dared to make William so humble. “Lord Lucien,” William greeted with a grim look while the vampire that had me in his hands tightened his grip on me to the extent I let out a cry of pain. From what I could see, it was obvious that everyone in this room hated the unknown man that commanded so much authority. “Who is that?” William hesitated for a split second before he moved out of the way and revealed who I least expected to ever see again in my life. It was my red-eyed captor, dressed in a black coat that covered the main attire with his black hair sitting obediently in a place. The hope felt for a second in my heart crushed in a second since it was his brother that sold me off. My breath got caught in my throat and I didn’t look away even though I felt intimidated, especially when he made eye contact. “What were you doing?” he asked William, although his eyes were still on me. I felt really exposed and conscious of my body, so I struggled against the vampire that just drank from me, but he didn't let me go. “Let her go,” my captor called Lucien, commanded in a voice that thundered across every corner of the room. The vampire didn't think twice before he let me go and stood up, leaving to cover the puncture on my neck that was still bleeding a bit. “Come here,” he said to me and for the first time since I've been thrown into this world, I didn't hesitate to run towards a vampire for help. I had no idea who he truly was, but if he asked me to follow him, I wouldn't think twice because my best option was to go with him, then try to cope with whatever I met at his home as long as it wasn't worse than this. “I'll take her with me.”Freya's POV:The ceremony started once the sun set and the moon rose. It was a full moon and from what Sopgie had told me they held this ceremony whenever there was a full moon.“Sit here and don't move around unnecessarily,” Sophie had instructed before she joined the procession.I was currently obeying her instruction although I was getting weird glances. At first I wondered why until I realised that all slaves sat behind. I wanted to move but for some reason, it felt like Sophie had her eyes on me from where she was seated.“Who gather here to worship the loon goddess,” the Alpha started. He seemed to have a limp that wasn't obvious if he didn't move around a lot.The elders were right behind him while the Alpha's family sat in front.I didn't recognise any other person apart from Duncan and Sophie. Bruno wasn't here.It was as if he didn't exist and everyone seemed to find it normal.I had waited for one of the side gossips but it never came. “We worship her for giving us victo
Freya's POV:We're trying to send you back to your world. My heart went still at that moment as I stared at him blankly.“W-what do you mean by that?” I finally croaked out, talking a large gulp of nothing.Duncan sat forward, his brows etched as he looked conflicted.I was supposed to be happy so why wasn't I? This was literally the best time to leave this fucked up place.“Freya…” he started but trailed off.I watched him rub his hand over his face, waiting for his response. “Things are going to get really awful here and you might lose your life,” he finally said, looking me straight in the eyes.I clenched my hands resting on my thighs to maintain composure.“And things might turn out good if you and Lord Lucien stop hiding things from me,” I muttered.I could feel my eyes wavering so I looked away, staring at the door.I heard Duncan let out a deep sigh and some shuffling. Within a minute, he was standing right in front of meI went still with my eyes wide open. This was the firs
Lucien's POV:“What did he do to you?” I asked in a whisper, my eyes wide open as I stared at her.Mother was supposed to be very old and close to death but she was the opposite. If no one knew her, she would pass as my sister. She bowed her head as if covered in shame and picked on her finger. My hands that were on the cell gate shook violently.“I'm going to kill him,” I said with anger, my eyes refusing to stay in one place. Her skin wasn't only fresh but also had red spots from the sunlight. I knew that was painful because it took a while for me to get used to my new life.“Lucien, wait.” Her fragile hand held me down and even though I could have pulled away, I didn't. My heart ached for who she was now because I knew the repercussions. “Why are you stopping me from tearing him apart?” I asked with a sigh, refusing to look at her.She tugged on my shirt but I stayed still. I could have stopped this if I confronted him earlier. The pain I felt made my lungs lock up and I couldn'
Freya's POV:“Sophie, I'm so sorry about it,” I said immediately we got into the room. She didn't utter a word around and just kept pacing around, making me anxious. The only thing I could do was play with my dress. “Why did you go there?” The glare she threw my way made me shrink back.“I…” there was no excuse I could give. I knew that I wasn't supposed to be there so I couldn't feign ignorance. It might even annoy her more.“Duncan needs to hear about this,” she muttered to herself. My eyes went wide, not knowing how to react. It felt like a good thing but I couldn't shake off the feeling. I didn't say a word and watched her bring out a cellphone which left me a bit shocked. I would have probably asked her questions about where she got one if the situation was different.“Duncan, I'm bringing your mate to you,” she said the moment he picked up.She didn't wait for him to say a word before she ended it and turned to me. My back straightened immediately and I kept my hands folded i
Lucien's POV:“Have you gotten it?” Duncan asked, breathing heavily through the line.I glanced at the pass in my hand and twirled it before lying, “No.”“Why hasn't he given you though?”Ignoring his question, I brought up the reason I had called him. “How is Freya?”The line went silent for so long that I had to take the phone from my ear in confusion. We were still connected.“Duncan?” I called.I had an idea of what the silence meant but I still wanted him to admit it.“I really don't know,” he said with a distressed tone.I was relieved but pissed at the same time. I knew better than to show it because I wasn't any better than him.“Why?” He has been avoiding her the same way I've been doing. My eyes drifted to the pass once more and I let out a sigh at the same time Duncan did the same.“You have the pass, don't you?” It wasn't a surprise that he had caught on but that didn't mean I was going to admit it.The door to my study opened and I glanced up, my heart falling immediate
Freya's POV:I swivelled around and there he was, standing in front of a door I had ignored when I walked in.My hands pressed against the hamster's table as I stared at the intruder.Wait… I was the intruder. The man rubbed a towel through his wet brown hair, his eyes not leaving me for a second as he shuffled around the room.He was surprisingly relaxed for someone who had a trespasser around. “You haven't answered,” he stated as he brought a hairdryer connected to a socket near the bed to his head.I had questions about who he was and why he looked familiar. That was when I remembered the polaroid pictures. My eyes instinctively went to the green wall then back at him. He was looking at me with a kind of curiosity that made me shift on my feet. When he cocked his head to the side, he realised that a reply was long overdue.“I'm Freya,” I introduced like he was meant to know me.“Lord Lucien's kitchen… staff,” I continued and he nodded vehemently. He turned off the switch and the
