Chapter 2: Heat and Run

I forcefully grabbed my hands from him that made him shock. I can feel my chest thumping so hard it might blast. 

"Hey, what's wrong? Are you okey?"

He approach me but I only step away, stumbling on my feet and my legs oh-so wobbly. I didn't let him touch me once again because I'm in a very worst situation. I can feel my head being itchy, my ears tingling to be devulged, the same goes for my tail. I noticed the person froze for a while as he look at me.

'Oh no!' came rushing on my thoughts. 

Although I can barely feel my own legs, I run away from him along with my beating heart.

'No no no no!' I mentally chanted as my inner wolf began howling. 'Not now.'

I can feel eyes on me and I didn't waste any time to look at them because some of them might be an anthromorph affected by the pheromones I emitted, and Man-Anthromorph has no resistance in sweet pheromones.

"Mr. Alinsky wait a minute! Do you need any help!?"

That voice, it makes me want to look back but I shouldn't. I ran until I'm inside my car and with my trembling hands, I failed to search for my suppressant.

Groan filled the car, hand restless and my ears and tail emmerge, fangs and my wolf eyes shown. I cursed mentally as I panted.

'I wish to not see you, human. Curse you!' Not putting much thought of it, he's really a human base on his flesh I smelled.

Like a fallen leaf, I was awoken, laying down on my cold bed, but my restless heated body warms the sheet. Eyes hazy and tear filled accompanied by sweats coating my whole body as I humped on my pillow, seeking for that person's touch. The thought of him, his touch and voice infuriates me yet here I am, suffering from my own heat because of him.

Compared to my past heats, this had become the worst. It took me 3 days locking myself inside this empty room, pleasuring myself that doesn't even satisfy me. And on this forth day, I do hope it's the last one because it's exhausting. 

Thanks to my sister Imani, I was saved from that place or else I might get attacked by Man-Anthromorph. How I wish I can just be a normal Man-Anthromorph. Why am I chosen to be the odd one? A Man-Anthromorph who undergoes into heat, can concieve an offspring, I bet some Anthromorphs will laugh and be disgusted when they'll found out about my condition.

Imani came to save me after I called her, a Lady-Anthromorph can not be affected by the pheromones emitted and she's the best one to be called out. She was so worried but the fact that she's a Lady-Anthromorph, she already knew what to do.

An arduous moan filled my room after a heavenly-hell climax which I hope to be the last one and before I could close my eyes, I prayed that I won't see that man again because he would be dangerous.

After that day, I woke up again, feeling more lighter though my body is slick and sticky. I immediately clean myself and prepared myself for work.

"Are you feeling alright already?" a voice asked me from behind.

"Oh yes Imani, thank you once again. If you haven't come, I don't know what might've happened to me."

"Hahaha just call me when things happen like that again, I don't want you to be in danger." she said as she approach me with open arms and hugged me causing me to smile. It was only my family I showed my effections.

"Tell me what you want, I'll buy it for you." I offered.

Even though I knew she already have all what she want and needed, this is the least I can do. They are wealthy but I do hope she will accept my offer. She think for a moment and suddenly her eyes glimmed.

"Then Aki, can we..." she hesitated for a moment as I noticed how her face shaded in red. Does my sister like someone?

"Then…can you pretend to be my…my…" he stuttered. "Can you pretend to be my boyfriend this upcoming Sunday?" she asked rapidly making me chuckle.

"Why, you like someone?"

"Obviously…" 

Her blushing and fluttered makes me want to tease her but I need to go to work already.

"Okey I will, I gotta go now. Take care of yourself and don't forget to call me when you need me."

"Roger!" she responded and I directly went to my company as Archer came rushing towards me.

"Mr. Alinsky, how are you feeling? You didn't came to your company for 4 days."

"I just got sick Archer but I'm fine now. Is there anything you'll report to me?" 

He look at me with a nod as we walk together to my office. When we rrived he brought some papers and I open it in instant. It's a business project proposal and to my surprise, the descriptions and needs are what I am looking for.

"I see, who owns this company?"

"The email was unknown but we search for it and the owner was named Giovanni Keller, the CEO of MedPal company and also an individual scientist. He also requested a meeting this afternoon if it is okey with you." 

Without any hesitation, I approved the meeting this afternoon since I don't have anything else to do. And to a matter of fact, I do really like the proposal that I will cancel any meeting just to meet this client.

"Please inform him to meet me. I really like the proposal he gave me."

"Yes Mr. Alinsky and also let's grab our lunch together again, okey?" he asked, eyes pierced through me that send a chilling sensation which is a bit frightening. Or was it just my imagination or the side effect of my heat in 4 days straight? Well I guess I'd became a bit sensitive after that.

"S-sure…" I responded a bit oddly nervous.

Day passes swiftly 'till our break and Archer came carrying the food he ordered for us. 

"Time for lunch boss!" he exclaimed excitedly and gave me my food and said my thanks.

We both started eating as he keeps talking and I listened though I cannot understand any of it because his mouth was full. But I'm thankful for this man for always staying at my side when I'm alone since college amidst my cold personality.

"Oh anyway, you always took a day off every month for one or two days. Why'd you didn't come for 4 days? Are you actually sick or something?" and then he gasped dramatically. "Or are you actually going to…die?" 

He exaggerated his over dramatic reactions again. I wonder how'd I became friends with him, it's almost too hard to believe. 

"Dimwit, I'm not going to die. I just got a very high fever that's all. You're exaggerating things."

"Is that so? You keep getting a fever, it worries me." he said and I can feel his sincerity which I'm always grateful to.

"I'll be fine and besides if I can only find peace in death, I can just kill myself." I joked but a half of it was a genuine thought. I can't keep my real nature forever and that'll make me die sooner or later either.

"Man, don't say that. You can also find peace in life, and that peace would be someone who'll protect you and you'll find peace for each other." 

Those words were wise and a very helpful advise, it's juicy yet it didn't touched my soul as if it has barriers. I hope he can just tell that to someone who needed that the most.

After our break was done, me and Archer went to our meeting place which is a private room just at the very top floor of my company building. Upon arriving at the place, I asked my secretary to inform the client where our meeting place is as he went outside the room to wait for them. In a few more minutes, the door opened as two person showed up behind Archer, to my terror, the person behind him was the person I prayed I won't see.

Howls be heard by my inner wolf, the familiar feeling once I've felt I didn't want to feel anymore strengthening and the sweet scent slowly emitting, filling the room. I wanted to run away but seeing the person right in front of me, my desired mate, makes me want to cling on him and keep him all by myself.
