CHAPTER 33: COMPETITION

Ten minutes later, Hilary was seated in the main seat, surrounded by the elders who looked very solemn and he knew that the matter was serious. Otherwise, they wouldn’t be gathering at such a time when they should be sleeping.

As for Veda, she had returned to the house to sleep. Her pregnancy made her pretty tired fast.

“Alpha, it has come to our attention that a group of dark witches are busy going around killing humans for forbidden rituals and the like. At the rate they are killing, I am afraid that we might be affected. You know how the supernatural alliance government will take this chance to cause us a few troubles.”

Hilary furrowed his brows as he listened to that. He didn’t expect that the problem would be the witches but they were werewolves. How were they supposed to even deal with that matter?

As if sensing his inner monologue, one of the elders spoke. “I think that right now, we should remain low key and not do anything that will put a target on us. After the previous battle, we need to replenish and gather more warriors.”

Hilary nodded as he listened to that. His pack couldn’t afford to go to any war, or enter any dispute at the moment. The losses will be severe.

“Just let everyone know to remain low key and for now cut all communication with the witches. We don’t want to be caught in the crossfire,” after some thought, Hilary ordered.

“We will surely do so.”

“With that topic closed, the real reason why this meeting is being held is because of the Werempics. We have gotten some intel on the packs that might be joining this time around!”

When Hilary heard that, his ears perked and gaze fixated on the certain elder who was saying that.

Werempics were very important to any pack. Whether legit or rogue. It was a chance for every pack to garner attention, compete with others, and investigate the strengths and weakness.

Today they may be allies but tomorrow, they might not be.

However, all these weren’t the major reasons why the Werempics were important. It was the only ticket of entering the sacred lands to meet the royal family. Compared to the supernatural who lived in the sacred lands, they were nothing.

By winning in the Werempics, they would get the ticket of attending the supernatural gala where all supernatural gather as one. Whether werewolves, vampires, witches and many others.

Those that win at the supernatural gala can claim a favor from the ruling monarchs. A single favor can change lives. Who didn’t want to give a try?

Knowing the opponents early before the due date would be advantageous. They could study the opponents and also strengthen where they were lacking. And this information came at the right time.

“Tell me what you got!” Hilary was anxious to make his pack the greatest. Even if he can’t do so, at least make its name resound throughout and make something for himself.

He needed to and has to. He wasn’t allowed to fail.

Upon receiving permission, the elder began to talk.

“The ones that are determined already are five and the rest should be joining in as time goes on. The packs are as follows; Nightstalker, Darkmoon, Light, Silver Furs and Aynor packs.”

Hearing the names, Hilary’s brows rose with bafflement. He couldn’t recognize these packs at all. Where they really from their region?

“What kind of packs are these?”

What kind of an Alpha doesn’t even know these packs?

The elders couldn’t help but feel disappointed when that question was posed at them. Even them, who are way older than the Alpha had heard so much about the packs and yet the person who should be worried more about all this was clueless.

As if they were on the same wavelengths, the elders who were a couple both looked at each other briefly while initiating a mental link and both said to each other, ‘we should start the preparations!’ and returned to listen to the meeting as if they weren’t plotting anything.

The elder who was speaking obviously couldn’t show his disappointed when speaking to the Alpha. He could only provide more information and hope that Hilary would know what they would be up against.

“These five packs recently emerged and have been causing great waves in the past year to three years because of different reasons.

Let’s start with the Nightstalkers. They are a group of rogue werewolves, very bloodthirsty but only attack those who attack them. they live in the wilderness and their territory is that Grimmis Grove forest in country Vakix.”

Talking about countries, the country that they were living in was called Tetharia which was under the region of Uzall, also called a continent according to normal human beings’ criteria. But to them, when they talk about regions, that’s what they mean.

Vakix was another country at the top of the continent’s map and well known for its forests. Grimmis Grove forest is one of the best examples of primordial forests. Very deadly and only the craziest could live there.

as for how they emerged, the story was still a mystery but their work was well known throughout. If you offend them, the consequences would be very dire.

The elder shared more information on the other three more packs, and Hilary with a thick skin absorbed all the information, making calculations in his heart.

“The last one is Aynor Pack. Apparently, there is a family called Aynor which stays here in Tetharia and Wutburn City. From the investigations, that family is a family of normal human beings. So, we are currently not sure how a son from that family ended up as one of us.

There aren’t any clues of where they stay currently but their prestige precedes them. Their Alpha still young and below thirty. Not yet mated to a Luna but very popular.

The pack doesn’t have fame because of violence and such but it’s known for its diversity. It’s one of the few packs with mixed supernatural. According to those who came across them. They say that the pack has powerful werewolves, witches, humans and even vampires. Although that hasn’t exactly be proven but it’s a fact.

Because of its co-ed nature, it is believed to be a strong contender and might swept all supernatural Olympics. Among the five packs, we should be more concerned about it.”
