CHAPTER 47: HER OATH

The ancestor was silent for a moment before responding, [Fine. You have already embarked on this journey and it’s not like I am capable of stopping you now. As long as you are there, who can find you?]

Elowyn chuckled as she listened to that, happiness filling her.

Her ancestor was her first trainer. Everything that she knew was from her (seer related). It was a good thing to see that she was taking things seriously and willing to teach more.

The ancestor and descendant discussed for a while, until that was interrupted when Lizzy returned, wearing a dark expression.

Upon seeing that, both Elowyn and Bryssa knew that it wasn’t very good.

“Let’s talk on our way. You are going to be furious with this one, I swear!” Lizzy said with gritted teeth, her hands trembling and they both could see that she was trying her best to suppress the urge to explode.

The two also understand that it wasn’t the right place for them to have a chat, so they agreed to her and started making way towards the rental company. However, they didn’t talk about the matter but decided to wait until they were on the road.

Bryssa had already settled the camper van matters. So, once they arrived, the process was very fast and in under fifteen minutes, the three of them were boarding the van.

The three of them weren’t the kind to torture themselves. They have rented a camper van with an elevating roof, and generous space for maneuvering.

Once they were settled inside, Bryssa took over the driving chore and the camper van drove out of the parking lot smoothly and joined the high way.

The three were going to a camping site, below this famous mountain, just twenty kilometers away from the CBD.

Since they were using the highway most of the journey, they were going to be on the road for less than hour. So, it was pretty much close.

On their way there, Lizzy brought up the earlier topic that was hushed.

“Girls, I don’t care about the other times, but this time, promise me that you won’t be lenient!” she started with that opening remark and Elowyn smirked as she narrowed her eyes, not looking at anyone in particular and responded, “Who said that I was going to show any mercy?” her voice quite chilling.

Lizzy’s eyes flickered with a mysterious glint as she looked at Elowyn and excitedly spoke, “Good. No mercy. Damn, you won’t believe what I heard about that woman,” after getting Elowyn’s assurance and not bothering with Bryssa, Lizzy began to narrate what happened, and the two ladies were so angry as they listened.

The crying woman was quite pitiful. She is a single mother who has been working as a cleaning lady for several years and doing other part time jobs to make ends meet.

Raising a child by herself is never easy, but the love of a mother for her children conquers it all.

The daughter is seven years old, and currently in primary school. The child was lost a few days ago. Every single day, from Monday to Friday, the daughter goes to school and return home before 3pm. because the school is close to where they stay, her mother doesn’t send her to school and pick her up.

Besides, she would be working and with other classmates and friends with her, what was there to worry about?

Unfortunately, the filthy minds of people couldn’t be fully comprehended. A few days ago, when the mother came back from work, she didn’t see her daughter at home. She asked the neighbors who always look after her when she wasn’t back at home and received a chilling answer.

Apparently, on the way back from school, a supposed aunt told the woman’s daughter that she was sent by her mother and was supposed to take her somewhere else.

The daughter believing that and no one suspecting anything, she followed the woman and that was the end of it.

When the woman learned of that, she knew immediately that her child had been taken. Thus, she reported to the authorities straight away, but who would have guessed that there were so rigid?

After so many days of not getting a good response from the police, the woman started to search for her own daughter, although she knew deep down that if she was taken, then the chances of finding her were slim.

Her daughter wasn’t the only child missing, but there were numerous cases and yet there haven’t been any concrete leads. It could be said that even the police were at their end’s wit, but who wasn’t?

“Tche! I have always known that these people aren’t reliable. How can you put your faith into the same people who are also working with these bastards behind the scenes?” Bryssa cursed as she continued to drive.

Elowyn folded her leg, a smirk on her face as she added, “whatever gives them money, they do anything. Forgetting the agony that they are bringing to the people. Anyway, this time no mercy and it will be quite a pity if I find out that some of them are involved,” her tone laced with iciness before she addressed Bryssa, “dear, are there other leads?” looking at her with anticipatory eyes.

“How could there be not?”
